Doc could see Kyler was obviously confused by his exit. "Rule one, kid," he said nonchalantly. "If things are too good to be true, then they usually are. We got through our entry far too easily, which means there's probably something we missed. Hence taking another exit. Get me?"

Kyler was actually counting on there being something they missed, and so wanted to make it look unprofessional by exiting the same way they entered... but he planned on letting Doc have his own way this time.
"Then let us not leave them disappointed." he smiled, pulling out a small, simple electrical device. It was plain silver and had two buttons and a red tip... and whilst holding it, heading toward the same window as Doc was.

"And that does... what, exactly?" Doc asked. This kid was full of surprises sure, but something told me he was thinking of doing something stupid. Doc kind of hoped he was wrong...
But somehow, he doubted it. Very much so.

"Let's get out of the building, then I'll show you." Kyler replied, "it'll be a real test of our ability to disappear into the night."
He knew he was pretty good at disappearing into the night, people hadn't been able to find him after he didn't want them to in the past, it lead Martin to speculate about what his Talent might be in... even though he wasn't able to actually activate it.
Kyler headed toward the window and stood beside it, motioning for Doc and Maya to lead the way.

I just looked to Doc. I knew that I could probably jump it if I needed to, there were a couple of decent sized window ledges to break up the height, but that would raise questions, and I was actually quite intrigued to see what Doc was planning.

Doc had a sneaking suspicion he knew what the kid was plannig.
And if he was right, then he was going to give the kida and absolute earful.
"Alright, kid, but if you do something stupid..." he let the threat hang as he removed his jacket and unwound the rope carefully concealed underneath, unrolling it and hanging it down out the window. He secured it to hte sill with a strong metal hook, wrapping another, smaller thread around his wrist before turning back. "So, who's first?"

I raised my eyebrows, somewhat disappointed... I had expected something much more elaborate. Doc was grinning at me, and I realised that my expression might be mistaken for disbelief that he expected my to climb down a rope. Subtlety be damned. I grinned back, took another of those tough little bags out of a pocket, wrapped it roundmy hand and leapt without hesitation though the window, snagging the rope and sliding all the way down in seconds, lightly gripping with my feet, while the bag protected my hand. I grinned back up towards the window far above.

"Now here," Doc said with a grin. "Her I like. Just interesting enough to be... well, interesting," he looked pointedly at Kyler. "Well?"

Just interesting enough to be interesting... was that Martin's angle as well? Was there something specific he wanted to know about this woman? Kyler's mind was full of questions... he hated that he most likely had to wait to have them answered.
Kyler looked at the rope and the window, then back at Doc, "After you." he replied, politely, his thumb touching, but not pressed against, the button on the metal device.

Doc eyed the device carefully before shrugging and sliding down the rope. He'd deal with the kid later.
As he landed next to Maya, he whispered quietly, "I think i know what that thing's gonna do. Get ready to run."

"Right." I said with a raised eyebrow. "Running I can do." This really had been an odd first night in town. I had been ready for a bit of fighting but not for this...

Kyler smiled as he grabbed the rope, eyeing the scenery outside. Noting the possible places to "disappear" into, he pressed the button on the device for a few seconds, and then slid down the rope. It wasn't until he reached the bottom that an alarm sounded in the building.
He pocketed the device and said a quick "time to disappear" to the two he was with, not giving them time to respond, and headed into a nearby alleyway, disappearing into the shadows - something he was good at, regardless of being unable to access his Talent.

Now this was a bit more like old fashioned fun. "See you around." I said to Doc with a final grin, before running, at full slayer pelt, across the street and down an alley, out of sight before you could blink. I didn't stop until I hit a graveyard, where I vaulted up onto a crypt, giggling fit to burst, but not even breathing heavily. Who thought my first night would be so bizarrely fun? And, I thought, checking the little bag at my waist, so lucrative!

Kyler had kept an eye on Maya as she headed off, it was difficult, but he was used to keeping an eye on people more skilled or powerful than himself - he did train with Martin, after all, though fifty percent of the time, he did lose track of the man. This time, he was lucky.
Remaining in the shadows of the night, he managed to track Maya to a nearby graveyard - an odd place to go, he thought, but she wasn't exactly normal, he could tell that pretty quickly. It took him a few minutes to get to the graveyard, and it seemed it took her a lot less time... she was comfortably perched atop a crypt.
Interesting enough to be interesting - the words repeated in his mind as he checked his surroundings, then revealed himself to her, "I thought that it might be a good idea if those "watchers" believed that the people who broke in were amatures." He said as he approached the base of the crypt.

Doc swore as he took off. Stupid, stupid, STUPID kid. Actually gaining attention would place the people who answered the alarm in danger unless they worked for the Council. Those assholes would not like cops poking around.
"Someone really needs to teach that rookie the fine art of breaking and entering without garnering attention," Doc muttered as he moved. Honestly. some people.
