"Nice plan," Doc said. Simple, effective... "as long as there isn't anything more than vampires in there. Like this...Assholetherial or whoever they were talking about. And I'm not sure I like the idea of using someone as bait unless they a) deserve it or b) volunteer."

"A given about the bait part but time is not something that is on our side. Whatever would be summoned has to take corporeal form to consume any sacrifice unless it just takes souls so in most cases a sword or other long sharp object would be more then enough to kill whatever it is," she argued back. "Your plan logically would take to long to wait."

"well, I did ask for other plans," he said. "Okay, we'll do it. IF Jessy's okay with it. Otherwise, we'll need a plan B."

"I hate the word too." I responded to Doc's comment about being a hero, "But there are demons that like to munch on those who risk their lives for others, whatever their motivations. As for the plan, it sounds good to me. If Jessy would rather be sneaky, assuming she is able to take even smaller forms..?" I looked to her for the question, "That could be pretty useful in the surprise element... I dont mind being bait if you think it might work... few vamps would turn down a slayer on a plate."

Ok, now I was pissed. Sure, I'd dragged these guys into the fight, but I'd expected them to be more... decisive. But they weren't a group, they were individuals, used to fighting individually, alone and with their own plans. Hell, I was like that too, but maybe because I was younger, had been fighting for less time and with less confidence, I knew I needed everyone else, and knew we all had to work together. Now.
"I hope neither of you are implying that I deserve it. Shifter or not, I'm still human. Mostly. So yeah, I'd prefer the plan where we get the knowledge, but I agree we don't have time, and there is less of it every second. So this is where a compromise comes in. We'll do what Rogue says, she and I will go in there, Maya as back up given she has the strength. But we won't fight the fight - we find the kids and the girls and we get them out of there, which may hold up the ritual, or it may not. Doc, you will bring the Wizard, or whatever, here, in case they do need heroes, and we've walked into a trap. I don't care if you have to kidnap him, or whatever, but this way we get the best of both worlds - we girls fight now, and providing we escape, we have the knowledge to go back in and destroy it. Now, we can roll with that idea, or not, but we have to stop arguing. Now we stop talking."
I turned to Rogue and grabbed her wrist, tugging her towards the building. "Get your game face on, honey, if you want this to look convincing." Bending as I walked I snapped my heel and tore my skirt deliberately, slightly regretting the fact Doc had healed me. This needed to look vaguely convincing –shifters were rare, but not idiots, and didn’t tend to get caught. It felt odd, but it seemed good that I had an ancient, powerful and kind of grey area vampire about to take me hostage. It wasn’t a dent to my self esteem, at least.

"Fine by me." I replied, not adding that if there was a fight to be had I would probably take it. "You guys go ahead and I'll follow, sticking to the shadows. While their attention is on you I'll suss out the situation... if it goes sideways, I'll drop in guns a-blazing... metaphorically." I swung the bag I had grabbed off my shoulder and onto the floor and unzipped it. I pulled out a few stakes which I hid about me, a small bottle of clear liquid, which I chugged, and finally a long, slender, slightly curved sword made of a tough wood with a strangely irridescent green tinge. I smiled at the others who had watched this quick little routine. "Ready?" I asked.

Rogue grabbed Jessy by the hair roughly, enough to make it hurt but not too painful. Convincing was what they were going to need. Looking at the door she let her human face fade away and brought out her game face. This was going to be interesting to see how it turns out.
As the two moved she made little effort of the door and she was sure the vampires inside could hear the noise. They were meant to. The immediate area was clear like she had seen above but she knew where to go. There were a few shipping crates in the large room which were empty save for a few pieces of trash.
She quickened her pace until they finally had run out of the damn shipping crates. With a grin she walked right up to them, still holding Jessy by the hair. "Hello boys," she grinned, fangs flashing dangerously.
The closet was six feet away, wouldn't have too much of a reaction time but it would be enough in case something goes wrong.

As soon as we were in earshot, I started making my pleas for freedom, empahsising my southern accent as much as was humanly possible. It had faded considerably in the maelstrom of LA, but it made me sound more like a fish out of water, more... victim like. "Please, let me go, I haven't done anything, I swear, I'm a nobody. Please don't hurt me, oh God, please don't hurt me. I'll get you money, whatever you want, but you don't want me. I don't understand." Ah, the babble of the hopeless helpless. I'd heard enough of it to do a striking impression of the innocent, naive little girl vampires seemed to favour. You know, the blonde one in a horror film, killed in the first five minutes? Shifting may have helped me assume other identities, but I backed it up with half-decent acting skills. They were useful, in a town like LA, and besides, it wasn't as if I could be my normal cynical self in this scenario.
As we entered (well, as I was dragged into) the warehouse, I glanced around, before deciding to play up the 'clueless' element. The closest vamps weren't in game face, so I tried talking to them. "Oh sirs, please help me, I'm so frightened. I can't possibly be who you think I am, please help me. I don't understand, she was being so nice to me, but she's some kind of a monster. She keeps talking about some kind of trade, or offering, but I don't understand why she needs me! Help me!"
Unsurprisingly, there was some laughter, but most of them looked on edge at the sight of a new threat amongst their midst - part of me was annoyed they only saw Rogue as a threat, but then, that was the plan. The closest took a step forward. "Who are you? And what's the girl? She smells... sweet and different."

With the vamps attention firmly on Rogue and Jessy, I made my way around the back of the huge crates, sword at the ready incase there were more of them hidden somewhere. I found myself a good vantage point at one side, where I could see the whole scene, but none of them would be able to see me. There was also plenty of space for me to leap out when the inevitable fight broke out. So far most of them seemed to be taking the bait, but the one who had spoken... the leader perhaps?... he was cautious. It looked like Rogue was right- they hadn't factored another vampire into their trap plan.

Hearing the voices on the inside of the warehouse, it seemed that a plan had been put into action... a distraction, of sorts. Kyler smiled, that was perfect, he wasn't sure how he would go about manouvering without something to distract the vampires, but as he peered out, he noticed all their eyes on Jessy and another vampire, who looked oddly like the woman who was with Doc at the apartment, and had come along with them here. Why did he get the feeling he was the most "out of the loop" here?
Didn't matter... he would act the unhappy teen who wanted to know it all later... for now, he had an opportunity to find the captives - he knew he wouldn't be much help in a fight, especially with a vampire, a slayer, a Talented who could actually use his Talent and a shapeshifter to battle these guys.
Quickly and quietly pulling himself out of the top of the detatched part of the ventilation duct, he moved upwards, onto the metal beams criss-crossing the top of the warehouse, well above where the action was occurring. He pulled himself on top, out of view of those directly below him, and began to move along the beams, toward the back of the warehouse, listening for any signs of... well... anything... as he did so.

"My, just as I thought," Rogue purred. "Young ones." The grinned at them, "This..." she pulled Jessy's head to the side to give emphasis on her neck. "Is a shifter. Of course she can't transform very well just yet, she's a bit new to this." Not that they would know that shifters can change quite early in life. She ran a single finger down the shifter's neck before stopping.
"But that is not why I'm here. You have hunted in my territory. Taking those people from the cafe, bad idea," she made a point to look at the leader with a pointed glare before softening. "But that's no reason that we can't make friends and leave on good terms with one another. So I brought a little party favor."

"What do you mean? I don't understand what you're saying. A shifter? I'm just agirl, I swear. Oh God, please don't hurt me." Ok, so this was laying it on a bit thick, but, with my eyes pointed to the ceiling thanks to Rogue's head tilt, I could just about see Kyler moving about amongst the beams. Ok, so it was more that I could smell him, but that was just weird to think about. Still keeping up the crying and sobbing, I tried to smell out where the captives were, but the stench of blood that ran through the place, as well as the less than savoury scents reeking from the vampires themselves meant that the more subtle odours were beyond my grasp, damn them.
"Your territory? I didn't see any signs." Even I knew that was dumb, and I wasn't particularly afraid of te vampire behind me. That is, I hadn't been afraid of her until I had found my neck exposed and felt her finger on my pulsepoint. Then, it got a little bit too convincing for my liking. The sooner this was over and done with, the better.

They were off before he had a chance to do anything or tell them Mal didnt' tend to leave, nor was he a fighter.
Damn, he thought, pulling his phone out and dialling a number. Guess he had to do this the easy way. He was hoping to buy some time. Looks like he didnt' have that now.
"Slayers, no matter what era, are rash and unruly characters," he muttered as the phone rang.
"Yes?"
"Mal, i need a look up. You're payment is Rogue Slayer, vampire," a moment of silence.
"My, my, MY! Jackson Ellison, you always bring me the most interesting look ups. What do you need?"
"Vampires, cult, LA. Ritual, Asothlial, Athothvial, shifter, Slayers... hero," he said the last hesitantly. Just in case.
"Well, we should get a solid lead. Beginning look up."

It took all my self control to not jump out at Rogue.... she was acting this all very convincingly. In the heat of getting in here asap I hadnt taking a moment to consider the fact that I knew nothing about this woman accept that Doc trusted her. What if he was wrong? What if we (including Jessy) thought this was a diversion, and she was in it for real? How could we really know? I gripped my sword a little tighter, ready to spring if things got...complicated. I still couldn't see the captives anywhere, although the baby was still crying somewhere deeper into the building. But there was no way for me to search further without revealing myself... unless... but no... I actually shook my head, I couldn't afford to play with something so unpredictable right now. Be patient, I told myself.

"Childe, how many vampires stick signs out 'big bad vampire here, stay off the cows'? Really? Cause last time I looked attracting too much attention gets you killed," she snapped. "Stay ahead of the learning curve kids. Being special is nothing to be proud of." She took a few steps further, closing the gap between the two vampires to just under three feet, yellow eyes glaring the younger vampire down before stepping away. "Of course if this is how you treat guests then it might be time to dispose of the toy and take out the trash. Fledgling games are bothersome enough and I have neither the time nor the desire to play them."
