I leapt railway bridge and onto the truck that was passing below me. The Council of Mean Spirited Buggers were moving something of some import through LA, probably with Slayer guard. They knew I was in town and knew I'd be moving in to take if if possible, but they move it anyway. Every instinct I have is screaming 'trap!', but it wouldn't be the first time, and itr probably won't be the last.
They really don't like me for some reason,
I managed to get hte rear door open, sliding int he back where the cargo was being kept. Now I just had to hop the Slayer wouldn't hit me too hard.

From my perch on top of one of the wooden crates gave me great view of anything that came in and out of the cargo car, and low and behold who should come in other than my favorite pain in the ass.
"Why am I not surprised to see you?" I said with an amused smile. Today I broke from my normal garb into black pants and a dark purple blouse that was loose fitting and helped hide weapons well. Actually I was expecting him to show up, warned he was the most likely of all outcomes. Turned out I would get some amusement before the night was up.

"Of all the Slayers in all the world, you just happen to be the one they sent," I said with a smirk. "I don't suppose I could talk you into letting me walk with the artefact, could I?" I loosened my stance, readying for the fight I KNEW was coming: no way she was backing down. Looks like I was going to get that fight with her after all.

"Oh... now what would be the fun in that my luv?" I asked, tilting my head to the side innocently, but the amusement in my voice was more than evident.
"I must say I'm not disappointed that you ended up being the one to come." Slowly I stood up, not reaching for any of my weapons just yet.
"It helped that you were the most likely suspect." And that I told as many people in the underworld know that the council was going to move something of importance through the area. Trap? Maybe.

"You mean there's no one else trying to steal valuable artefact's from the Council of Child Slavers?" I asked in false shock. "Gee, that just makes me feel all special and stuff. Really. I'm almost swooning. So, are we actually going to fight this time, or are you going to dive out of the truck clutching the precious cargo again? Just wondering. Last good fight I had was that rather loud scrap in the warehouse near the docks. Ugly little bastards, those were."

"Luv, you gotta find the cargo first." Oh no it wasn't going to be easy. It'd be too boring if it was easy to find.
Oh now if only he knew the truth about what the cargo was. But that'll just be saved for later.
"I'll give you one chance to leave. Either door is fine, you can let it hit you on the way out as well."

"Oh... now what would be the fun in that, my luv?" I shot back mockingly, with a little smirk. "Besides, I'd rather make sure that things locked up nice and tight, whatever it is. The Council has a rather... poor record in keeping things like that locked up. I should know. I 'retrieved' some of them."

"As have I dear. And I was hoping that you would be silly enough to stay." I smirked back at him, stepping down from my perch. With a slow movement I dusted off imaginary dust off my outfit before watching him curiously.
"Did you ever find out anything more about me besides my name?"

"Other than that you're very good at keeping your head low?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. "You're also incredibly expensive. I'd be almost impressed if it weren't that you have a price at all."

"I look out for my own interests; I've almost completely fallen off the map then, I'm glad to hear it. Makes my job easier." Oh course he wasn't looking for a vampire named Rogue, which would change what he heard drastically.
"Besides, I've got people to look after, and I get bored easy. I get the best of both worlds this way."
I placed a hand on my hip. "Now are we going to do this or not?"

"Oh, we're doing it," I said, blowing a handful of ash towards her face. "I just op you don't mind if I start off with a small cheat first," with her eyes blinded with tears, I moved in quickly, with the intent of dropping her just as quickly. I had no idea how skilled shereally was, just that she knew how to play dirty. Well, so did I and I preferred to go into fights with an advantage.

"You're learning," I growled out, blinking the ash from my eyes. Vampyric hearing was an advantage though. Even though I couldn't see I heard the rustle of his clothes and struck out, seeing nothing but blobs and blurs for the moment.

"Whoa!" I managed barely duck under her fist, rolling back and squatting near a crate. The ash should have blinded her, so... did she hear me? Slayer's have enhanced hearing, yeah, but to have that kind of mastery over it? "Curiouser and curiouser, madam. You're more skilled than your apparent age implies."

"Well thank you," of course I wasn't surprised. He truly had no idea what I was. Which was a very good thing in this instance. Most were not kind to vamps. No faulting them for that though. I was different but there was part of me that was just like all the other vampires.
"You aren't bad yourself." He did have quick reflexes. With a single hand I tried to wipe away the excess ash from my eyes. Smart. Much harder to get out then dirt, finer particles. Blinking I could see much better but not as well as I would have liked in this circumstance.

"So much for finishing this quick," I muttered, standing up, moving into a wide stance, one hand up in front of my face, other down low, middle and ring fingers of both hands loosely curled towards my palm, other fingers still extended. "Guess I have to do this the hard way."
