((Ah bum. Ok, a rethink!))
I wandered the streets of the city restlessly. I had barely got a wink since finding out about my past, mostly due to the horrific headache that despite getting slowly better day by day still throbbed constantly. I also kept inadvertantly hearing other peoples thoughts, which was both worrying and tedious. So I had decided that the best option was to patrol, and basically kill things until I fell asleep from shear exhaustion. My focus on the hunt alone, I didn't notice the library until I had already past it. I paused, glancing back, and groaned inwardly. Great, just what I needed. I was praying that Doc wasn't around when I heard his voice, and spun round... to find the street empty. I frowned, and groaned again, it wasn't his out loud voice I was hearing. I tried to shut it out, but by now Mal and Rogues thoughts had joined his, and I got this jist of their conversation. They could use my help. But all i wanted to do was SLEEP! I didn't want to be part of his little crew. I didn't want to be his sister. I was me, just me, always JUST ME. Thats how I survived. No ties. Ever. If only I could get control of this ridiculous telepathy thing, which is also his fault, incidentally... UGH! For the second time, I was stood outside the sodding library, torn over what I should do.
((there we go!))

"I suppose it is pleasant to see that you are fascinated but it does not help me in the least," she replied still flipping through the book but she was quickly finding no real use of this one and gave up in favor or the next one which might hold the answer on how to help with this problem.
((lol, looks good Maya. We thought the idea could be fun and figured we'd work the rest of the storyline out as it went but nothing was coming to us. Also Geoff is less likely to be on for a couple of days because he's visiting family this weekend. It's his sister's birthday.))

(((*munches on cola ice block* I'm here. Thank heavens for dad's internet!)))
"It's his way of saying he's worried," Doc said as Mal stood to one side, running over several keywords. "He's not good with emotions and such. Part of being a living search engine, i guess. Hey, don't worry," he added. "We'll figure this out. We might even find something to kill. Always makes me feel better."

"And do I dare ask how the vampires have populated since my time? Their numbers seem to never dwindle," she remarked. Though it was impossible to phantom how many vampire there were in the world but as long as one survived the vampire race would always start again.

"More than I would like," Doc answered darkly. He still hated the idea that vampires and demons plagued humanity, more-so after finally finding his sister. "More than one person can handle. Stupid bloody council and their stupid ideas."

"It isn't as if they could make an army of slayer," she replied. "There are only so many human groups who hunt vampires and demons and they do not last very long." She could remember the human vampire hunters of her day and many of their misconceptions.
Of course she had no idea the truth of the world. There was not just a single slayer any more. There were hundreds of thousands. Which might seem like a huge number but against the number of vampires and those who do not know of their own abilities. Not only that but the shear number of people in the world greatly outnumbered slayers but such an overwhelming amount.

"...Yeah, but there's nothing saying they couldn't train others," Doc pointed out, not wanting to confuse her too much. Finding out there was no longer a specific 'Chosen One' might blow her mind a tiny bit. "A group support instead of one person. Long ranger fighters. Casters. Anything. Instead of sittin back happily in England and letting teenaged girls march to their deaths."

"A very true point, which is why Cattie never turn Kain into the council. She never liked the idea of the slayer fighting alone, even through my trials," she shrugged. "She figured many watchers did so. How could a watcher not feel for their slayer? It is human to love."

"Obviously hasn't seen some of the reports I've seen," Doc muttered, thinking about the Cruciamentum, reports like how Slayers were acting 'within set parameters' like they were some kind of machine. He really hated the old Council.

"Dispite what YOU may think, watchers do care for their slayers," she said starting to get annoyed at his constant disrespect for watchers. "You may not care about the council but I well not accept you disrespecting watchers. That I well not stand for and do not think me a fool by saying that is not what you meant as I can already tell you are the type to say such a thing."

"Show me one that wouldn't sign off on kidnapping and murder and I MIGHT believe you," Doc snaped back, grabbing another book and trying to bury himself in it. Mal 'hm'ed quietly as he watched them.

"Under any circumstance anyone would, there ARE no certainties in life. If the world depended upon a single action anyone would do so. That of course does not excuse the action but if you must know, Caddie would not have done it, nor would my mother, thank you very much," she huffed before taking the book she was looking through and walking off to another part. "Just because one person of a group defines your life, that does not mean they are all evil."

"Well, it has been a couple of hundred years," he pointed out. "And even if this new lot is an improvement, which I'm still on the fence on, the fact of the matter is, I haven't met one single Watcher worth pissing on," he gave a growl, pushing the book forward as he got up and headed to the door. "I'm going to clear my head before I do something stupid," he told them, walking out that door.
...and straight into Maya.
Meanwhile inside, Mal was shaking his head. "Honestly," he muttered. "He has to learn to control his temper. Especially when it comes to the Council. He may have found his sister, but I'm afraid old hatreds die hard. Especially in a knuckle head like him."

"How people like him get along in this world I well never know. It is truly sad that a person judges a whole group for the actions of a single person. I would have been a watcher as well if I hadn't been a potential," at this point she was fuming. "Has the council really changed that much?" She turned to Mal wondering.
