That gave her pause, "All of them?" She considered it for a moment before answering, "Yes. The information would be a great help and unless you know of something that could have done this or know of someone who would then it would be an acceptable challenge. Unless Maya would be kind enough to contact said watcher for us than the danger would be minimal."
Though she had to admit the idea of facing many slayers was not something she thought she could have imagined. All of them activated? What evil would they have faced to have done such a thing. What witch was powerful enough to do such a thing?

"Maya's smart," Doc said. "The only Watcher she's had contact with is the one well known for breaking the rules," he gave his sister a short glance before focussing back on Annie, not mentioning that said Watcher had supplied them with the needed keywords. "and who is no longer really connected to the Council."

I rolled my eyes, "Ok for starters, even if this watcher was alone, to help us she would have to know her stuff, and if she knew her stuff, there is no way she would miss the fact that you're a vamp. Watchers might not have supernatural powers but they know the signs. Secondly, me contacting her would make no difference at all... even if i could prove to her that Im a slayer, like Doc says, there are plenty of us knocking around these days." I understood that she was distressed, but the last thing I needed was a watcher turning up and insisting that I enlist in one of their sodding squads. No thanks. I said no more, and headed to the back of the shop to set up. Sand in a circle, incense burning, a few mystic bits and bobs scattered around and I was ready. I sat cross legged in the centre of the circle, and close my eyes, really unbothered about whether they were ready for me to start. I closed my eyes and began to slip into the trance...

She scoffed, well that was helpful. She knew the thought was unfair since Maya was helping them narrow the ailment down and the quicker they could narrow it down the sooner they could get things fixed.
Though Maya had a point, not being able to see her won reflection she could not see how much she looked like a vampire. She knew that she was breathing normally (an hard habit to kill) and did not act like she had seen many vampires act. In her mind she was still human but even if she had all her normal human characteristics this body was that of a vampire which meant she was probably much paler then she remembered.
She leaned against the table to wait, crossing her arms across her chest. This was probably her least favorite part, the waiting. After a moment she returned to continue finding books that would possibly help.

Doc remained silent for a moment before turning to Annie. "Look, things you have to remember. You and sun, don't mix. Youand crosses, holy water or anything like that? Not healthy. You entering a house without permission?" he shook his head. "It's not just the world out there. It's everything you used to use as a weapon."

"I do remember what the weaknesses of a vampire are thank you," she said shortly. "I've been hunting them long enough." Now how the fell did he think that she didn't know their weaknesses. "I am not sure how you came to such a conclusion." Though she had temporarily forgotten the uninvited part but there wasn't any way she was going to let him know that.

I could hear them bickering, but it seemed way off in the distance. I couldn't have told you what made me do it, but I opened my eyes, knowing somehow that it was done. I blinked a couple of times... everything looked sort of grainy, like an old movie. I stood up slowly, gazing around me. The walls seemed to ripple slightly, like they were fluid... I guessed that must be something to do with the movement of this place, or other protective spells. I had to force myself to focus, and moved towards rogue. They quietened as I approached, realising that I was in the trance. I frowned as I observed her... her face was constantly shifting between human and vampire, although I could tell she wasn't physically changing. But her eyes... in both forms, it looked as though her eyes were filled with fog. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw something move, but it was gone the moment I looked. Keeping very still and allowing myself to become more aware of the whole room, I could finally see the faintest shadow of a form hovering around Rogue. I couldn't see any defined shape, but I could tell this thing had some serious teeth and claws, and I knew then what the trance was telling me. Something- some demon- was feeding on Rogue. It had taken her memories and clouded her mind. This was no spell, this was a creature. I smiled. A creature that can be killed.

"I figured you knew them," he said, rolling his eyes. Was it really so hard to figure out. "But are you applying them to yourself, or are you applying them to an enemy? The second you try and go in, you bounce off the barrier and little miss Watcher and her merry band of Slayers turn you into Dust Bust fodder."

Annie ignored Doc as he spoke and focused more on Maya, wondering if she had seen anything helpful. She held her breath as she waited. It wasn't until Maya smiled that Annie let out the breath of air she was holding. Finally, something to narrow down the search to fix this situation. She hated this all and finally they were a few steps forward.
"Anything?" It was obvious that she had seen something but she couldn't think of anything else to say.

I closed my eyes, and focussing on Rogue's voice, pulled myself back from the astral plains. I blinked a few times, trying to focus my eyes as everything came back into proper colour. "Yup." I replied to her. "It's a demon of some sort... I didn't get a clear image, it was more of a representation... it's feeding on you... or fed on you at least... it consumed your memories, clouding your mind. So you can stop looking for spells. This is a beasty." I grinned, "So we can kill it."

"And so we enter my expertise," Doc said with a small smile of his own. "Hunting. We know what this thing can do. Now to find it."
"I believe I can be of some assistence," Mal said, dropping a newspaper on the table. the front page told the story of a mass of memory loss. Some of th victims spoke of some kind of bad dream, but no details. Doc looked at Rogue.
"Well, that was a little too easy," he remarked.

"Huh." I said, "Looks like you're not the only victim. I wonder if the dream thing has any real relevance? Maybe it gets at people in their sleep?" Just then I let out a huge yawn. It really had been a silly long time since I'd slept... maybe my body was finally ready to switch off... I thought the trance had taken a lot out of me. Strangely it seemed as though the trance had also taken the edge of the headache which was a relief.

"I don't remember much about my dream, there was mostly darkness," of course as a child she was afraid of the dark, it did not bother her anymore but on nights where it was especially dark she was always more cautious. "Worrysome that it's affected so many without any acknowledgment from any hunters."

"It probably hasn't clicked," Doc said, scanning the article. "Amneisa and nightmares? Alone they don't really mean anything and most hunters probably wouldn't make the connection." he looked at Rogue pointedly. "It's only because we have a victim here that we could put it together," absently he noticed Maya yawning. "Tired?" He asked her.

"A little." I replied, "Haven't been sleeping too well." It was out before I had managed to consider consealing my personal issues from him. So I shrugged, a little too late, "But, y'know, whatever, I'll deal."
