"It is a book, one he does not have, one that I should probably not carry with me," she gave a small smile. She pulled a small book from her bag. "It is my watcher's journal."

"And hello to your new friend for life," Doc said with a whistle. "He'd give a month of free look ups for even a glimpse at the Council's Librarys. Since we don't have names for half of the Slayers, it's a gap he can't look into."

"Not sure it'd be of any real interest. She mostly wrote about me and our journeys," she shrugged. "It's something I've guarded even in the peril of my own life, if it survives than a part of me has as well, and that is something I could live with." It was an endless gesture but it was also a comfort. "It seems silly but it's the last tie I have to my human life, and by getting rid of it... I am not sure what well become of it but it is my wish."

"Mal will keep it hell guarded, believe me," he said. "Especially if it can lead him to more stuff on Slayers," Doc chuckled. "It's a bit of n addiction. Once he gets his claws on something, he can't stop until he knows EVERYTHING there is to know about it. Knowledge; a boon and a curse. For him, doubly so. He has it all, but is limited on how he can find it. Drives him insane."

"Well, than he is the best person to give it to than," she placed the tattered book back into the side pocket at her knee. She couldn't think of anything else to say.

"He is that," Doc nodded. "I don't even know what he's got in there. Last time i checked, i saw tactics for several Special Forces on the shelves. things that don't even get out of bases," He shrugged. "whether it's something he looked up and wrote down or what, I don't know. But there's a reason I keep him on speed dial."

"He can be useful," she shrugged.

"One way of putting it," he snorted, stopping in front of a shop. "We're here," he said, looking up at the sign. "Let's go say hi, shall we?"

"Yo, Elias!"
"Oh... oh, it's you," Elias said, looking around nervously. "What do you want?"
"Calling in a favour," Doc said with a grin. "Best sword you had remember?"
"Ah, yes, yes," Elias said. Doc's eyes narrowed. Something was going on. "Of course. I'll just, uh, go out back and get it..."

"You believe him?" she asked, raising an eyebrow but leaving back against the door, letting him handle it.

"Nope," Doc said. "He was too jittery. Something's got him shaken up, and it's not me," he eyed the room carefully. "Stay on guard. I like this about as much as I like a tomato and strawberry sandwish with extra wasabi."

"I'm always on the look out and the dream demon doesn't count," she replied.

"I refuse to comment on the grounds you'll probably kill me," Doc said. A sound from above caught his attention. "So... upstairs. Does he think he's getting out of paying up?"

"Apparently so," she said indifferently.
