"Well, we could always find an officve to brekak into and steal some classified information," he said, winking Maya's way at the private joke. "I've heard that can be amusing, if a little nerve shattering."

A little smiled quirked one side of my lips at Doc's words. Well at least the kid hadn't said anything yet. Then Kyler approached me, and I turned away from the bar, leaning back against it and smiled more broadly, "Hey." I replied, "Who's your friend?" I nodded over to the drunk he had left sitting at the table.

"I'm not the type to enjoy a criminal record," I replied, scrunching up my nose. "I prefer more just entering without the breaking." Watching the look between the guy and the Slayer I shifted a bit as I stood, unnerved. Call it instinct, but it was never easy being around Slayers, particularly those who favoured the stake now, ask questions later methods. Some, I knew from experience, had the idea that a drop of demon blood made you evil to the core, without hope of redemption. Hopefully the pulse and the soul would be enough to put this one off. "Jessy, by the way. So, is the girl who's been poured into her clothes your girlfriend?"

Kyler looked back, glancing over at Martin, then back at Maya. "That's just my uncle, Corey." He replied, "he has a little bit of a drinking problem, but he's usually alone, drunk, in dangerous places, so I think it's fine to leave him there for a little bit..."
He looked over at Doc and the young girl he was sitting with. She couldn't have been much older than Kyler himself, which raised the question as to why she was sitting alone here before, in such a place... was everyone in this city so suspicious?
"So what brings you here?" He asked Maya, after turning his attention back to her, not making it obvious that he had realised she was wearing rather suggestive clothing - Kyler felt lucky that he never really cared much for girls, her attire didn't distract him in the least.

Doc barked out a short laugh. "Hell, no I met her on a roof casing out an office," he said with a grin, leaving the impression he was joking when he really wasn't. "Not too sure on her angle, but whatever it is, she's hunting. Could be interesting to watch her actually catch something, whether it's what she's looking for or not, wouldn't you say?" There was a brief flash of a feral grin before the slightly loopy attitude returned as if it had never left.

"Still just getting to know the town." I replied to Kyler... and it wasn''t entirely untruthful, which I felt was fair seeing as he was clearly lying about his friend... whatever that guy was it was more than just a drunk. I noticed a couple of vampires sat together in one corner. They had been watching me since I entered. Perfect. I glanced over at Doc. Would he guess what I was if I continued on my plan for the evening's slayage? Or would he try to save me when he saw me leave with a pair of vamps? Ugh, it annoyed me that I even cared. That last thought sealed the deal. I downed my drink. "Sorry Ky." I said, "I have a social engagement." and I stubbornly headed for the vamp table, flipping my hair, swinging my hips and smiling a not so nice smile. "Hey boys." I said, my voice low and coy, "I dont suppose you know where we can have some real fun around here?" It was just like dangling a steak infront of a couple of ravenous dogs. Easy.

"Hunting?" I raised an eyebrow, all innocence and naivite. Yeah, right. "Hunting what? Guys? Because then I don't rate her choice, though her methods are great." It wasn't always a great idea to blast knowlegde of the supernatural world through a megaphone before you had an idea of the players in the game, and until I had that I was keeping mum.
Still, that didn't stop me feeling a little annoyed as the Slayer monopolised the vamps. Sure, she might be custom built for the job, but I'd been eyeing them up for a while and having them snatched from under my nose was not particularly thrilling. Even the prospect of seeing a slayer in action wasn't enough to be a brightside, though I'd never actually seen one fight before, only read about them.

Damn. Frack. Stezuakol'trathul. What the hell was she doing?
And why oh why do I care, he thought, watching Maya do her thing with a pair or obvious vampires. After all, no one was that pale unless they were dead.
So much for my night off.
"So, girl with the stakes," he asked nonchalantly. "Should we back her up or let the breathing challenged have their way with her?"

I grinned at the open invitation. I was still holding the knowledge tally in my head and while the guy probably knew the girl, whoever she was (unless he winked at strangers on a regualr basis) he clearly didn't know what I did, or he wouldn't have been worried for a second.
"I'd leave her to it, if I were you," I murmured, though it was hard to sound wise at nineteen. "She looks like she can handle herself." And you don't want to be facing one hundred and ten pounds of pissed off Slayer, I added mentally. I, however, would lvoe to watch.
Damn, there was that pesky conscience again. "But if you're going to, I'd better," I muttered. Someone had to protect the idiot, after all.

Martin was inconspicuously eyeing Maya and the vampires. He made no move nor any obvious gesture... it wasn't his place, and moreso, he didn't care... he was more curious than anything else as to what might happen next.
Kyler noticed Doc and the girl he was with eyeing Maya. Doc with caring... caring? in his eyes, and the girl with... distain? He wished he was better at this, he could read the faces, but not figure out what it all meant. Maya was obviously skilled at what she was doing, and even if she wasn't, Kyler wouldn't be much help against... vampires, yes, definately vampires... Kyler was reluctant to believe Martin at first, but he had shown him what to look for. He put his glass on the bar behind him and leant on said bar, watching - this might prove interesting.

"Aw, so you do have a conciouence, how lovely," he said, watching Maya's actions. "As soon as she's out, we follow. Stay back, stay low, stay alive," it was a complete shift of gears, serious, planning, methodical. "We hang back til we're sure, watch for problems step in when necesry. you got any tricks you keep them ready. Got it?"

"Yes, sir, affirmative, sir!" I muttered sarcastically, rolling my eyes. "In case you hadn't noticed, I kinda had those things down already. You don't carry stakes if you plan on dying. And considering I clearly know more than you do about, well, everything, but particularly this, don't treat me like your gunt, general." I pulled my bag over my head, rummaged for my stake and walked towards the door. "So, I'm going to do some recon and you can continue your Dark Angel military planning procedure."

Doc rolled his eyes. More than he did? Right. Sure. "You do that," he said, moving towards the exit. "I'll sit back with my military planning and try not to get myself killed," gee he was feeling sarcastic tonight. Must have been the alcohol. Kids.

"Betcha anything I'll have more fun with this," I replied before swanning out. Seeing a slayer in action, now that would be fun. However, what with the whole demon-side (and really, that was overexaggerated way too much by the white hats) I decided it would probably be best to keep a low profile, unless she needed any help. What I'd heard of slayers, now there were so many not all of them were the lean mean fighting machines they were meant to be. Ducking into an alley I shifted and emerged as an unusually dark squirrel before climbing a tree that might overlook the action.

Doc moved out to the alley, leaning against he wall to wait for maya. No sign of the kid. Huh. Maybe she was better at hiding than he though.
Wonder if Kyler will come to watch, Doc thought. Seems to be interested in Maya.
