(LA.N) And now for something completely different

[Maya]

((ok, this comes AFTER surprise, normal now, i wish, and all of those. It might be a little odd cos things may happen before this, but meh, i wanna do it anyway, and a certain other person who knows exactly who they are wanted me to get onwith this, so yeh... ;D
I think it'll actually be, say... roughly 4 or 5 months since the whole josh dying thing? I think that'd work...))

I strolled through one of the many graveyards in LA, alone despite all Josh's moaning about how i was way too far on to be doing anything on my own let alone fighting... but i had insisted. I wanted some air, and to just be away from people for a little while; alone with my thoughts. I looked down at my now large, rounded belly. I smirked, nearly giggling- any vamp would certainly think it was hilarius that a slayer was that fat. I knew that this would thing was going a huge amount faster than normal, and that it was totally unpredictable... but until then, i had never considered how unpredictable it was, or what the consequences of that could be.
I had been out almost an hour, and had no confrontations, when i started feeling... uncomfortable. I kept going, but decided that next time i passed a gate i would head home. But when the gate came into view, that was when i felt it- like period pains, only about 10 times as bad. I cried out, doubling over... or as much as i could considering my current shape. And then moments later it was gone. I stood again, breathing deeply, my eyes wide.
"No way..." I said to myself. "No fucking way."
I started walking quicker, and got almost half way home before it came again, twice as strong.
[JOSH!] i cried out mentally.

[Charlotte]

I was spending the evening with Doc whilst Maya went out patrolling. It hadn't seemed a good idea to let her but well that was Maya for you and it had seemed an even worse idea to give up the idea of an evening alone with Doc. So we were just relaxing, sitting on his sofa, me leaning against him so that his arm was comfortably around my shoulders. The TV was on but I wasn't really concentrating on watching it. Suddenly Doc sat up straight and I slid off him onto the floor. I got up indignantly.
"What was that for?" I asked but he held up a hand to stop me.
"Mai." He murmured. "What is it?"

[Maya]

((brotherly bond i guess... lol))
I was on my knees with the pain, and part of my mind was calculating that it had only been about half an hour since the first one... this was not good. I mentally called for Josh again, but as i did so, i felt someone else, they're mind open and alert to me, and i heard Doc's voice,
[Mai... what is it?]
[Baby...] i mentally gasped as the pain receded again.

[karen]

I was walking with Kyra when we saw her. I pointed. "Look!" Kyra sighed. "Come on, we must begin." She sighed again.

"How are we going to hurt-" She began. I glared at her.

"Do not be ridiculous. A child of power is being born. We must thank the Goddess. Come on, pray." Kyra looked at me as if I was mad but I shook it off. Enemy or not, a noble child was being born. And who knew, maybe this child would prefer our side of the battle.

[Charlotte]

"What is it?" I asked Doc urgently.
"The baby." He said shortly. "It's coming."
"Now?" I asked. "But we're not ready yet."
"Doesn't matter. The baby is. We've gotta get to Maya."
"Lead the way." I said and followed him out the door with a strange feeling bubbling inside me. I was so confused about this baby and it was coming so soon I'd barely had time to sort my thoughts about it out. I was still sceptical about how safe it would be to have such a helpless creature amongst us all and I wondered how Maya and Joshua would cope with it, whether they'd have time for the rest of us with a baby on their hands. Doc interrupted my train of thoughts.
"C'mon Charlie, the baby's not gonna wait around for us." We picked up speed as we neared the graveyard Maya had been patrolling.
"Where is she?" I asked, the familiar setting seeming suddenly vast and full of shadows which could hide anything you wanted to find.

[Jackson ''Doc'' Ellison]

"This way," I said, moving towards where Maya was. As we reached the area, the fool girl was leaning against a wall. "You just had to go patroling alone didn't you?" I muttered, moving to her side quickly. Charlotte stayed a bit removed, just in case something decided to get curious. "Come on, up we get. Willow's gonna kill me."

"Where's...Josh?" She asked through the pain.

"He'll be here," I said sotthingly. "Let's just get you to the hospital. No arguements for once, Mai," as we moved her to the car (((I'm guessing we would have brought it))) I sent out a quick APB through my Sabre to any of the Slayeretees who wielded such a weapon. Charlotte looked over at me.

[You know they'll want to know, right?] I sent to her. She nodded as we headed off, one of us on either side of Mai, helping her walk.

[Jessy Jackson]

[Pepper]

((I'm telepathic and my dagger is pretty close))

As soon as I heard Doc's news that Maya was having her baby, I teleported into the car.
"Whoa" I said loudly as I realised how fast we were going.
"PEPS?" was Doc's immediate reaction "How'd you get here?" he asked
"I can teleport remember" I said "Now where's this hospital?"

[Jackson ''Doc'' Ellison]

(((No. But I've got it covered.)))

"Pepper," I said, tossing her my phone. Charlotte was in back keeping Maya comfortable. "Call mal, tell him initiate operation Theta."

"Theta?" Pepper asked. I gave a weak grin.

"Tell eneryone without a Soul Weapon that the babies coming," I explained.

"You prepared a military style emergancy code?" Maya groaned through gritted teeth.

"Nothing hurts my little sister," I said. "Not a second time."

[Pepper]

I quickly dialled the number and told mal what he needed to know. I knew how to work a phone now."Okay, he says she'll be along in a minute" I told everyone.

[Jessy Jackson]

I dived to the ground. "Can I help? Carrying?" I looked at Maya, extremely worried. Something behind her caught my eye. A stream of black hair, a familiar scent. "Doc, Karen's behind you."

[Charlotte]

"She's not gonna mess this up." I said through gritted teeth. "She's...what's she doing?" I stuck my head out the window to look but Maya pulled me back inside by my hair.
"Don't be stupid." She gasped then winced in pain.
"Says the girl who goes out patrolling when she's the size of a whale." I muttered but barely audibly as I commenced rubbing Maya's lower back to ease the pain.
"How far Doc?"

[Pepper]

Suddenly I realised what Jessy was up to. I flung myself out the window and onto the roof. "Okay at the count of three Jes" I said to the girl on the roof.
"1,2......3!" I counted and then we both shifted into griffons and pulled the car above the traffic.
"Flyin car at 4'Oclock" I grunted with the weight of half the car in my talons.

[Jackson ''Doc'' Ellison]

"Two minutes as the griffon flies," I said dryly. "As for karen...as much as I'd like to, we don't have time to deal with her. We'll deal if she tries something. And if she tries for the kid...well, then we shred her."

As the car came to a landing, we saw Joshua and Avalon running to the hopital.

"Wondering where you were," I said as pulled up, Jessy and pepper human once more.

"I was on the way to the graveyard when Lon got your message," Joshua said. "We were closer to the hospital. Is she alright?"

"As alright as she can be," I said as me and Charlotte helped Maya out. "Come, mate, grab an arm."

[TPot]

I felt my sword vibrate, it did that when it wanted to tell me something, Go to hospital, now,, "Why?" You'll find out when you get there. Stupid sword, never tells me anything, I took off towards the hospital, using my sword to talk to Doc <What's up?>
