"Huh. No way. The dude is actually doubting people could like dancing when he's with Del! If she was in a bad mood, he'd be toast by now."
Joshua's eyes were wide- he'd just realised who it was we were all looking at.
"Thats..." He said.
"Yup, Del girl's back in town." I said with a grin.

I raised my eyebrows. 1200 years? To some, it would be impressive; in fact, it was almost impressive to me. Almost. But, as always, I had every intention of getting my way. Unsure of whether or not he could read minds, I just spoke to him in his own head.
1200 years? Nothing. I fought a bloody war for the first 300 years of my life, and then I fought off slayers and fed off humans for the next 2000 years. That puts my record at 2300 years without loosening up, and I still dance. I smirked. Ok, so I'd had a couple thousand years after that to loosen myself up, but did he really need to know that?

I chuckled as i heard Del's projected thought to Zeroc- i got the feeling she meant me to hear. Hm, boney relaxing? That would definitely be something to see...

'That would be quite cool' I thought aloud and Mai grinned at me 'But you know what else would be cool? Having a normal fight with a coupla vamps... How long has it been just with us, a coupla stakes and some dumbass vampires? Jeez all we do is fight the big bads these days'

"Yeah." I sighed, "That would be wicked."
Movement across the room caught my eye, and i turned to see a trio of guys leading three clearly drunk girls out of the bar... I raised one eyebrow at Nicki with a quirky smile. She grinned back.
"Be right back." I told Josh.
"Huh?" He asked in confusion,
"Dont worry, back in a minute. You stay and guard the drinks." I grinned at him as Nicki and I left our drinks and followed the six out.

I took one last wistful glance at my drink and walked side by side with Maya as we exited the Spot and quickly got on the tail of the three rather pale males and their three helpless dates. My hand was already resting on my stake and I called out into the dark
'Hey! If I find out you're going to take advantage of those girls, I'm gonna have to get nasty with you boys'
They turned round, eyes glowing ferociously as they quickly morphed into their game faces and growled. Maya looked at me and I saw her eyes alight with excitement
'Let's get em!'

"Great," I mutter to myself. "I'm half an hour late and I get drink guard duty." I plump myself down on the stool and just get a water for right now.
<You know> I communicate with Mai as I sit there people-watching <if you let one of them go and cast a tracker spell on it, you might be able to follow it back to the den or nest or whatever of whatever gang of vampires they're from. And I *know* you and Nicki still have the Hypertime watches I gave you for your last birthday, and hers. So you don't have the same excuse I did since you aren't driving after the vamp.>

I watched Maya and Nicki walk after the vampires, torn about what to do. I of course wanted to make my presense known; set up the local fear groups among the undead population of the city. Deciding that I should lay low for a while, and that Maya and Nicki could handle themselves (or at least call for help when needed), I stayed where I was. Besides, I wasn'tabout to let him win.
"Ok, seriuosly, just... I don't know, move a bit. You have bones! Use them!"

I was still in my memory and had no idea of what was going on in the real world. The dream became so intence that my phisical body started to do the things in my memory (dance). I started to loosen up and much to everyone's suprise, started to dance.

I was so surprised I almost stopped completely. He was actually dancing. Yes, that was my intent from the beginning, but I hadn't expected it to happen so soon. It took me three hundred years of nagging to start doing anything remotely 'loose' (and back then, it was a lot tighter, believe you me).
What are you-, I started to say, but stopped abruptly. Note to self: do not enter minds of relative strangers. I staggered under the weight of the... something. I couldn't tell what it was: a thought, a dream, a memory, a wish - it could be anything. But damn it hurt. Like a bitch. I held a hand to my head, hissing.
"What the hell is going on?" I demanded, still pressing the heel of my hand against my forehead.

A few minutes later, Nicki and I walked back into the bar with broad grins, and rejoined the others (and our drinks) at the bar. I'd taken joshua's advice and we'd sped up the journey to the nest, though we did the fighting in real time cos that way its fair, and more fun. We'd totalled 15 vamps in ten minutes, and I felt SO much better.
