"Alrighty, come on," he said, reaching into his jacket for his wallet. 'Always be preparee' Raven said. He hoped he was prepared enough...
As they approached the guarded wing holding the victims, he flipped the wallet open revealing a blank slip of paper. At least, to anyone that knew what it was. Luckily, the cop wasn't exactly the brightest torch in the hospital.
"Doctor Elias, CDC," he said. the man's eyes glazed over before standing aside.
"About damn time," he muttered as he admitted them. Doc nodded as he walked past. A little too easy.
"Single use fake ID," he said. "Worth every penny of the $200 I paid for it."

Annie looked between the Guard and Doc before hurrying to fall back into step with him. "Alright... weird tricks." She looked back to see the guard wasn't even paying them any attention. "What kind of magic was that?" She didn't even know what the CDC was but the guard seemed to be expecting them.

He pulled the paper out of his wallet, it's magic spent and threw it in a garbage bin. "In this day and age, everyone has to carry identification. Police, government agents... CDC is in control of overseeing and investigating outbreaks that maybe forms of illnesses. That paper was $200 worth of illusion charm to convince whoever saw it that We were with whatever agency i needed," he shrugged. "Damn expensive, but good in a pinch. Of course, the guy only sells one at a time. Annoying as hell."

I reached the hospital, and slipped inside, glancing around although I didn't know who would be watching me. I went straight to the reception desk. "Can I help you dear?" The woman asked in a bored tone. I nodded, "I hope so... see, last thing I remember I was in Florida, and just now I wake up in an apartment I dont recognise, in LA, and I have no idea how I got here. Plus last time I checked, it was 2003." The woman breathed a deep sighed, "Great. Another one." She complained. "Another?" I repeated. She nodded, "Theres a whole bunch of people losing their memories... right mess if you ask me. Fill this in and have a seat." She handed me a form. But the idea of sitting here in a public place for any length of time gave me shivers down my spine, "I... um... can I not see someone right away? I mean if there are others...?" "Everyone has to wait their turn." She said flatly. I groaned... I had to see someone... if there were others then maybe I could work out whether this really was someone targetting me or if it really was some crazy medical thing. "But I'm only 17." I blurted out, "Dont minors get seen quicker or something?" The woman choked a short laugh, "Uh-huh, yeh and I'm 12." She chuckled. I scowled at her, and marched off to the ladies bathroom off the waiting room. I stomped in and stood before the huge mirror above the sinks. My jaw dropped. The woman I saw standing there resembled the me I remembered, but not much. Sure she was the same height, and her eyes and hair were the same colour... but that was about it. Her body was thinner and more toned, though her feminine curves were more defined than mine, as I had noticed vaguely earlier. Her face was pale, the features more defined, esspecially as the eyes were smokily outlined in eyeliner that had not been fixed in a while. Her lips were a deeper red... which one closer inspection could have been the residual stain of dark lipstick. It wasn't me... and yet, it clearly was. And that made one thing perfectly clear... I was not 17. 7 years had past and I remembered nothing of them. Is this what the cloaked men had intended? Did they finally catch me and put me in some sort of wierd coma for 7 years? I had been sure they wanted to kill me... they did want to kill me, they killed Ben! Maybe it was some survivor of the demon clan... maybe even the leader himself... but again, if that was so then why was I alive? It made no sense. None of it made sense. I found myself backing up, transfixed by the apparition in the mirror as my eyes filled with tears. I hit the wall and crumpled. What the hell was happening to me?

Doc froze as they headed towards the victims, looking behind him. That feeling of... wrongness came over him again a feeling that something had happened. It was strong. It was close. It was...
Eye went wide. He didn't know how he knew but somehow, somehow, he knew. He KNEW.
It was Maya.
"Ah... fook..."

I hugged my knees close, burying my face in my arms and closing my eyes, though tears continued to squeeze out. Maybe if I just kept my eyes closed it would all go away. Maybe I would wake up at home with mum yelling at me for sleeping too long...

"What?" she asked, looking at him weird. She looked down the hall again before looking back at Doc. She hadn't been in a hospital like this before, it smelled strongly of something she couldn't identify and it made her nose tingle.

"You know that feeling I was having?" He asked, moving towards where he could feel her. "That feeling that something was wrong and all that that I just kind of shrugged off as unimportant? Yeah, I'm a moron," he looked around trying to zero in on the feeling. Come on, Kat... Maya (he really had to stop doing that), where the hell are you? "It's Maya. I think she's been affected by whatever the hell's happening."

It seemed as though maybe it was working... that is... when curled up in a ball like this it made it much easier to pretend that everything was normal than when I was looking at this wierd adult me in the mirror. So this was the plan. Stay here. On the floor. In a ball. Wow. Well done Maya, you're more pathetic than ever. This bought a whole fresh load of tears... which didn't help.
((Sorry to be very unhelpful.... but im going skiing tomorrow for a week!! So wont be online til im back.))

"Alright..." Annie said, unsure of what to do or say. "Do you know where she lives? Do we go get her, or do we leave her? I do not know her so I cannot say which would be better." She couldn't very well split up from him, having no memory what so ever of the times now, she would not know how to find or contact him if they were separated.

"Truth to tell I don't really know her either," Doc said, looking around. Where is she, where...? "Long story. But I can't just leave her with no idea what hte fuck's going on. I dn't know how old she is in her head. It might even be just after her kidnapping, I don't know," Focus, focus... there! "This way!"

Annie followed, knowing that if she stayed behind she would end up doing something to cause suspision, though she'd probably just be assumed as just another victim. Of course she was another victim but not quite so helpless as some of the others who had no idea what was going on... come to think of it... she had very little idea of what was going on anyways.

Although I still hadn't moved from my comforting ball, the instinct that had kicked in lately, the one to keep moving, be aware, stay ALIVE, was still ticking over. It was noting everything that I had seen and heard since waking up. It was trying to work out the possibilities... was something messing with me head? Had I been in some sort of wierd coma for 7 years? or was it the other way round, i had continued my life for 7 years and I just didn't remember it? And following through on each of these senarios... what were the immediate threat? where were the guys in cloaks? what had happened to Ben? .... and all this bought me was more despair, for which ever one was true, I had no way of finding out, because I had noone. The last person I trusted died last night... or 7 years ago I guess... either way... I was alone. Completely alone...

Doc skidded to a halt in front of a ladies toilet. Maya was definately inside. He looked around, hesitating about going in for a moment. If he got caught, they'd never get the info, but... "Fuck it," he said, storming in, not checking to see if Annie was behind him, finding Maya curled up in a ball. "Maya!"
