At first, I could only think of one word to say. "Wow." Even before the change, I loved hamburgers, porkchops, and steaks. Now I just like them rarer, and more frequently. "So you stick to things, that's a good thing." Did it bother me that she was a vegetarian? No. I could care less what she ate. "No. It doesn't bother me, as long as you know that I'm not switching over to Boca Burgers any time soon." It was a joke, and I laughed a little. I calmed my self down quickly. "Does it bother you that I'm not? Like, would it bother you if I ordered chicken fingers right now? Not that I want them, I'm just using that as an example." I started babbling, and I hated my self for it. A light blush and creeped up on my cheeks, and I hoped it was too dark for her to see it. Be cool, Ash! I grabbed my orange juice and took a drink, using it for something to do other than being rediculous

Adel could hardly help but smile at that. "No, I wouldn't mind if you ordered anyting with meat. I can hardly expect you to eat like I do if you don't like to. And yeah, I tend to stick to things rather than give up on them." Having always been like that she never quite got why people tried to do things but gave up. It was nice to be commited to something. Not that she follwed through on every thing she commited to but she tended to stick to it.
"For some reason people think it's weird. One guy even argued with me on how being a vegetarian was unhealthy when it's really not..."

I nodded, listening. "Honestly, I think it's weird too. Not a bad wierd, just different from me. Which is a good thing." I was getting my sauve back, and I think I recovered nicely, without notice. "Sometimes it can be unheathly, just because some people only eat certain veggies, in which they loses vital minerals. But it seems like..."
An odd smell hit my senses. It smelt dead. Not the rotting kind of dead, but the cold blooded perserved bodies that they were. I looked around the room, inhaling deeply, and saw a punk rocker type guy staring hard at me from a corner of the room. I remembered the first time I smelt them, it almost cost me my life. I didn't run though, but I didn't move towards him. I just glared, because I had no experience in killing a vampire.
((just throwing a small twist in there, hope ya don't mind))

((Not at all))
"You know him?" she asked curiously. "Cause he looks a bit like a vampire." Yeah she was blunt but with the whole vampire craze people were in it was easy to assume her new found friend would either chuckle it off or just find her weird, which she was but that wasn't new.
"I usually just ignore them. Lots of creeps hang out in bars. Obviously your otherwise occupied."

I made sure I kept eye contact, but as I heard Adel mention the word, I blinked, and looked away. "You know about vampires?" The statement took me off guard, and then I realized that she may have just been saying he looked like the type to be a vampire. "Well, yeah, I mean... he does fit the profile to be a vamp. And uh... no. I don't know him." I had to come up with an excuse. I couldn't keep living like this. "I think he sharked me in a game of pool once... forever ago..." That was the worst thing that I had ever heard come out of my own mouth. I didn't even play pool. "He is a creep, lets ignore him." And hope he ignores us

"He should get laid," she replied, smiling at Ashley. "Than maybe he wouldn't be so creepy."
Well... she knew about vampires... maybe...? Was she a real werewolf or was it all just a coincidence?
"You play pool?"

I wished that's all there was to that, was him getting laid. But I'm sure there was more blood to his lust. I smiled my well placed half smile, looking almost cocky. "Now that is an interesting question. Do I play pool? Yes. Do I play well? Not in the slightest." I laughed. "You play?" I forced myself to ignore the cold dead smell, and focused on the deep earthy smell, with a hint of cucumber melon. It was very relaxing. It took all of my will power not to lean my head into the cook of her neck and just inhale her. Half of the smell was fimilar, and I was trying to place it. Somewhere I had been a long time ago. The other half, was just her.

"No, I can't play at all. Never tried. Fun to watch," she shrugge with a smile. "So what do you do? I take it you have a job now that school's over? My job's boring. I work at the book store down the street from the school." For a moment she just looked at Ash. "You seem... distracted...?" Zoning out more and more as they talked, certainly weird to say the least. Was he bored?

I chuckled. I guess I was a little too focused on my senses. "I'm not. I'm listening, I promise." Did I want to tell her that I was smelling her? That would be abnormal, but we did live in L.A... I didn't want her to think I was a freak. "The book store sounds better than my job. A lot quieter too. I've kept my job slinging pizza. I need a new one." Although the tip money was great, most of the time. "I want something else. Something a little more... adventurous, ya know?"

"I dunno, I'm quite satisfied with what I'm doing now. Fits." Though she knw what Ashley meant. "Someting where you aren't doing the same thing day after da and you have more control over right? Thats what you'd want out of a job." For her the time she spent at the book store was boring work but she could work on over things while she was stocking shelves. She'd admit to using magic every once an a while to help her. Might have been cheating but it helped her with control.
"So what DO you want to be doing?"

I immagined Adel lost inbetween book shelves. She was right, it did fit her. What did I want to be doing? That was a good question. The Wolf had an answer for me. hunting. "You know, I think it'd be fun to be a vampire hunter. Like Van Helsing. Going place to place, looking for Dracula." The traveling would be nice to. "But I'm no where near strong enough." I laughed and flexed for her.

Chuckling she responded, "I would make a horrible vampire hunter. I'm a pacifist. No killing of any form for me. I can't even bring myself to kill a fly. I mean, I can protect myself if needed." She shruggd. "But the movie Van Hellsing was awesome. And vampire hunters don't have to be strong, as long as they are smart enough to make up for it. Certainly eugh vampires in LA."

My thoughts flashed back to my first encounter. The woman who had saved me was very strong. "You think wits can win out over brawn?" I had a feeling that she was involved in the kind of things that I was just getting used to. "I was attacked by a vampire, right around midterms. I had a woman... she was like crazy strong, she saved me." I looked at her face, gauging her reaction. "Do you believe me?"

"Yeah, she was probably a slayer, professinal vampire hunter," she shrugged. Adel was pretty sure Ash was a werewolf and if not than Ash would only think she was crazy. "I'm a witch, spells and stuff. When you mentioned you weren't fun to be around three days ot of the month you were referring to yo being a were right? Wolf probably..."

Ok. So it was nice to know I wasn't crazy. Other people knew about vampires, anthough, I had never heard of a Slayer. "A witch, eh?" That explained the earthy smell. "So you work with herbs and stuff?" She had asked me if I was a were... Of course I was, but would she be ok with that? I was glad that Adel seemed to be pretty open about it, otherwise, I never would have even thought about telling her. "Well... Kinda... yeah. I was hoping you would just get a pms joke out of that though." It wasn't my fault I was a werewolf, but I had adjusted really well. Would she?
