Joan practically melted at the aste of the melon frap in her hands. It was cold out nd she was receiving weird looks from people as she sipped her icy beverage. The craving for one was driving her nuts and when class ended early she practically flew down to the cafe to get one.
She had a few witchcraft books with her, only one ofwhich was out at the moment as well as the bider she used as her book of shadows. Her OCD about reorganizing it every time she found something new or something was incorrect,, made it impossible to keep her book of shadows in anything else but a three ring binder.
She scribbled a ew words here and there unil she found an incantation she liked and would write it down on a peice of paper and adding it to the ever growing book of shadows.
No one gave it a second thought, nor a second glance. 'Young' woman reading wiccan books in a cafe was actually a pretty common thing. Of course most of them were not the real deal. Besides, no one could tell what the book was unless they knew about it or if there was a pentagram on the page.

Liam Wyatt Jackson had just left his English class and needed a good place to study. Naturally, he found the local cafe that many students used to study. Laptop in hand, well, in it's case and slung over his shoulder, along with a book, he sat in a comfortable chair and pulled the side table in front of him to use as a sort of desk. After setting his things as he likes them, he went to get his coffee. Nothing special. Just a little sugar and creamer today. Though it was a big mug full.
As he returned to his seat, he saw that he was sitting across from a girl in his English class. Liam couldn't remember her name. He switched his mind to the paper he was to write for the class, though it was almost finished, he didn't want to leave it to last minute.
There really wasn't much left that to do on the paper and when he had finished, Liam looked across to the girl in front of him and looked hard at what she was copying from her book. From what he could see, it was a spell, but he couldn't tell what kind. Raising an eyebrow, he logged on to the the college's website and found his way to the student directory, using a few of his own little tricks and found her. Joan Madison. He didn't care about a major, just a name. Back at home he would do more research to make sure nothing wrong was coming of her. But here, Liam would be risking people seeing that he could hack his way into any computer. That wouldn't be a good thing.

Joan hadn't even noticed that anyone had taken a seat across from her as she continued to write notes. It wasn't even until she reached for her melon frap tat she realized someone was there. "Oh, hi?" she said surprised. She could tell that the guy was a few years older than herself and she couldn't be sure but she thought he was in one of her classes.

Liam noticed that Joan was looking in his direction and decided to introduce himself.
"Hey. I'm Liam, we've got English together."
He smiled his crooked smile as he closed his laptop to look at her a little better. he didn't really know anyone around here, and he figured it would be good to get to know at least someone. He tried not to worry about the fact she could be an evil witch. But that was just the guard of the hunter in him talking. This was his chance to finally have a normal human life. Assuming demons didn't decide to pop into his life again. Demons had a habit of making Liam lose his friends too soon after he makes them.

"Oh, hi, I'm Joan. Nice to officially meet you than," she gave a small smile. "Sorry, I don't really socialize in class much." She kinda shrugged. "Seems pointless."
"Did you finish the homework yet?" she asked curiously.
((So out if inspiration tonight.))

"Oh, um, yeah. Actually, I just finished it." She said, stuttering the slightest.
He realized he hadn't had any of the coffee and picked it up and sipped some off the top, and as he found that it wasn't too hot he drank a bit more. He didn't really have much to say. Unless he was talking to someone to ask them questions about something possibly being supernatural, he wasn't really good with words.

"Lucky, I'm only half way through it," she chuckled softly before turning back to her work. Well it wasn't so much work as it was fun. "But it's not due until next week so I still have time to work on it." In truth she was putting the essay off. She couldn't seem to write an essay without the last minute pressure of it being due the next day. It was always a pain but for whatever reason it worked best to do it last minute.

"Yeah, I tend to get things done early so I have more time to spend on other things."
Liam stressed the word 'other' in a way he hadn't meant to. Though he wouldn't come out and say that it was hunting demons, he was a bit worried what he may say if she were to ask.
((now it's my turn to be out of inspiration. xD))

"Oh?" she asked curiously. There was a tone there, she caught that much. "And what do you do with your time than?"

"Umm..." He wasn't quite sure what to say. He didn't want to come out with what he did, that's for sure. People had a tendency to freak out when they knew.
"I'm a uh.. weapon enthusiast." Well, at least this was partially true. He did, after all, have a complete arsenal in the trunk of his 1967 Chevy Impala. Things from Shotguns with bullet shells full of rock salt to daggers and wooden stakes. He even had a few odds and ends to ward off demons in there, like dream catchers and a couple large bags of pure salt.

"Oh, that's nice..." she said giving a polite smile. "I'm a pacifist. I'm studying to become a nurse. So weapons and I don't mix."

"After finishing up this year, I'm going to be going to law school. I kind of dropped out while I was in the process of getting into one a few years back while I had been going to Stanford. But I got side tracked. Time to get it done, now." It would be great to finally get there. Liam had missed school while he was running around chasing after demons, and even being chased by some. Maybe now, Liam could have a real life.

"Ah, well good luck with that," she replied before continuing. "What made you want to do law school?"

Liam shrugged. "Dunno. Dad tried telling me once that it was because I was a natural. As a kid I always asked questions and was able to tell if I was being told the truth or not." Instead of leaving the conversation on himself, he turned it on her. "And what about you? Why'd you choose nursing?"

"I dunno," she shrugged. "I've always wanted to help people I guess. Plus nursing is a fairly stable job even in an economy like this." She noticed the change in conversation but she left him to it. Some people didn't like talking about themselves.
