"Turning me," he said. "After all, how annoying would I be for all eternity?" Okay, he was starting to lighten up a bit. He really needed to figure out how to apologised to Jesse somehow though. Hm...

"True," she replied with a smile and a nod. "There are a few things I could think of that I wouldn't do either." She grinned with a laugh. "Now why do you feel so connected to this place? Besides it's charm."

He shruged* Don't know. Wherever I go, I always stop in on Chinatown, or it's nearest equivalent," he rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Maybe it's because they're usually supernatural free. Well, aside from the odd herbal shop or a curio shop with more mystical items than anything else. They're usually rather... quiet."

"A quiet relief?" she asked moving past a group of people who were huddled together.
"I guess it would have a hint of familiarity between each city, to be honest I never really go into many of the China towns."

"That's kinda part of the charm, like I said," he said. "Ah, not about you not being there," he hastened to add. "It's just... vampires, for some reason, avoid these places. Maybe it's the herbal shops with the old guys that know more than they say tey do," he grinned. "Always keeping their hidden talismans and potions around. Maybe they ward of more evil than you'd think?"

She shrugged, "Personally I just go straight to where the evil is and I kill it." Which is what she had done for centuries. Well off and on. She stretched her arms above her head.

"Well, yeah," he said, nodding. "Point and kill. Simple and effective. But," he pointed a finger to the sky. "Sometimes it's nice to have a place where you can go, think and not be bothered by some stupid sucker looking for a cheap meal. No offence."

"Last I looked I wasn't stupid," she remarked before looking around. "I like cool nights where I can just... think." Which was what she was doing on the roof that night. "I've never felt the need to be with others, and I'm not sure that that has changed."

"It's not so much the people," he said. "It's the place. It's just... different. Calming. Strange, how it's amongst a crows that I can think best."

"I was meaning our... 'group'," she replied before looking at him. "Sorry."

"Ah," he said in understanding. "I'm not exactly what you'd call a team player either. Hell, used to get in touble by the truck loads from Raven for not following orders and sticking with the gruop he stuck me with. They're... interesting, though."

"Really? You in trouble?" she remarked, "I can't imagine that." That last part was full of sarcasm, which she was sure he would hear. She could see him getting in all sorts of trouble.

"Yes, and you're sooo surprised," he matched her sarcasm with his own, adding. "Like you never jump3ed in with both feet without checking the depth first. 'I just go straight to where the evil is and I kill it', right?"

"Yes, but I've got both vampire and slayer strength and speed on my side, and it's worked for a long time," she replied matter of factly. "For MUCH longer then you've been alive."

"And you don't look a day over 150," he teased lightly. So much for thinking, thought idly. Though this wasn't too bad.
