"Well either you want me to leave but you want me to answer questions?" she sighed, shaking her head, closing the magazine and setting it down. "Dead, killed him seconds after you shot him. After you passed out I drank from him so I wouldn't look horrendous when the ambulance arrived and made it look like an animal attack. Told them we were husband and wife, who were abducted by him and that he had a dog which turned on him alarmed by the gunshot. They were going to take me for a report when I gave them a number for them to clear it up with a 'friend' who convinced them that we were working on a case for them. Bit messy but easy for me to keep straight and fake. He's dead and gone. No need to fear him any more." Uncrossing her legs she stood up.
"I suppose I shall possibly see you in the future then." Turning towards the door, pausing slightly at the entrance.

"Did you at least call Maya and tell her I'd been shot?" He asked, having a sneaking suspicion it had slipped her mind. "And how long was I out, anyway?" No thank you. Yet. It'd come. Eventually.

"I have no way of contacting her. I don't know her number or where to find her, how would I have?" she replied, still in the door way, looking over her shoulder at him. "You've been out for a little over a day."

"Any time." Worse part was that she meant it. This man was going to drive her crazy. "Was there anything else?" Part of her wanted him to say yes, or something, anything. She wasn't ready to leave even though now she knew he was safe and would be getting better. Something about seeing a person awake was a comfort.

"Actually, that wasn't part of the plan," Doc admitted sheepishly. "He was supposed to shoot you in payback, giving me a chance to get close enough to take him. Guess i didn't read him as well as iI thought."

"Yeah, well not the first time you've read people wrong now is it?" That comment was obviously less to do with what happened with Raven and more to do with their... relationship? Partnership? Something... whatever they were...
