Doc gave a shudder. "You think I'd actually go BACK to that sadistic mother fucker?" He snarled angrily. "You think that little of me, Rogue? Have you not heard a word I said? I would rather hand myself over to Wolf, Ram and freaking HART before I let that psychopath anywhere near me!" He stopped, his breathing ragged. He would NEVER go back to that. "No, if it comes down to it, I'll run. Best way to keep her safe. Get out of dodge, draw Raven after me, keep Maya and everyone else here safe," he nodded. not like he had much to pack. "It's the safest bet."

"And if he knows that you've found her, made connections... if he's anything like you've been saying he'll harm them, keep them prisoner or lord knows what else. Running wont make a good deal of difference then. If anything it'd worsen her chances if you were to do that." Yeah, this wasn't helping her in convincing her not to go and confront him. Inwardly she smiled at that. The darker part of her smiled at the thought of carnage.
"I hope you don't run." For a moment she wondered if she thought it or actually said it aloud. She knew it might be selfish to say so. She had gotten used to having someone around and part of her craved that, to not be alone. Hell if he did run she might just follow him, she wanted to believe that it was only to protect him.

"...Dammit why do you have to be..." he began before her last comment slipped out of her mouth. His mind froze. She wanted him to stay? "Why?" he asked. "Most people are more than happy to see the back of me. Hell, most would try to stick a knife in as I leave," yeah, his life wasn't the nicest, and he usually didn't let people know any of that. Why was he telling Rogue then? No clue. Did he want to stay? Maybe and not just for Kath... Maya. He really had to stop that.
But there was Raven, and as much as Rogue had a point, leaving and making sure there were no traces was the best bet for keeping everyone alive. It was why he'd tried not to let any of Raven's agents see the people he'd been hanging with. No, staying just wasn't in the cards until they could stop Raven, somehow.

She straightened up like a bird fluffs it's feathers. Damn, she had said it aloud. "I've gotten used to you being around..."
Liar! the darker half almost squealed in laughter.
"Not many people would trust a vampire and so I'm used to being alone... And I have just gotten used to your annoying traits and if you leave then..." What the hell? She couldn't even think straight. Nothing was making sense in her mind. This whole playing nice thing with humans was a bad idea... She should not have done it. Life got confusing and she didn't know where she stood anymore around them. She secretly craved to be near them but she couldn't and reality was ever present in her mind and she could never fit among them and she didn't want to. Too much of her enjoyed the vampire saving the world act. The sight of the sun... The sweet caresses of the suns rays... How she hated it. She could almost remember the feel of them all and she also craved the power she held now, the ability to fight evil and make the world a little safer until she herself fell to anothers hands. And one day she would, but until then...
"I think I should feed." There, blame it on me having not fed. Without another word she turned to exit the ware house, not looking back to see if he was going to follow. Damn...

"You know most vampires just get hungry, not sappy," he joked. He turned serious a moment later as he turned to her. "But i understand how you feel. Being alone... used to be a lifestyle for me."

"Well you have found my weakness." She chuckled weakly, still continuing to walk away from the warehouse.
"You'd think we'd be used to being alone..." At least she would have thought she would have been used to it by now. She'd been alone for a long time, the idea that she wasn't used to it was... unsettling.

"Maybe we're just getting soft," he said, looking around. To be honest... he preferred not being alone. But with Raven here... "Maybe we just like having people around. Leaving our mark," he gave her a slight grin. "the odd fight, maybe an apocalypse or two."

She shrugged, glancing back at him. "Possibly, but I've left my mark on the world in many different ways. Mal even has my watcher's journal so I'll be remembered."
She wasn't sure about what to think about his not noticing anything different.
"I know this is random but have you had any relationships? While we're on the topic of being alone."

"Nothing that lasted," he admitted. "Mostly they wanted something. Or wanted me to forget they owed me 30 large," he really had to collect on that one of these days. "Nothing that really meant something. What about you, Ms 'I've-been-alive-for-300-years-plus'?"

"Only one that was serious, less then two years after I turned into a vampire I killed him."

Doc winced. "Yow, sorry. Must be hard," he felt bad for asking now, but she started it. "Guess keeping unattached is a good thing for people like us, huh?"

"It can be," she admitted, though the idea of not opening up to the experience was disappointing. "You shouldn't close yourself off to new opportunities. You're so young."

"Then why do I feel like I'm pushing a thousand?" He muttered, looking at her. "Maybe I should open myself to new things, but let's face it. I think my life's pretty much on a clock right now. Hell, i might have been on borrowed time since my family was killed off," he exhaled sharply.

"Well, then just enjoy the now. You only live once, make the most of it. Try something new or just slow down and spend time with other people."

"Maybe," he said quietly. "Maybe," man, this talking your feelings out sucked. "So, what next? More hunting or home again, home again, lickity split?" Yeah, the goofball act was getting old. He needed new material.
