"Closed off?" Curious. Though, she supposed, she could see it. "And I'm not overconfident now?" That she couldn't believe. Sure she had grown in wisdom but she often did things that were fairly reckless.
"I often wonder, what would have happened if I had not run into Martin that night. I doubt I would have lived much longer, slayers never live for very long. I was lucky to have lived for two years but I had Kain with me to help and Caddie for research. I'm probably boring you with details you don't care to know."

"No, it's... interesting," he assured her. "Informative, I guess. I never really thought about how Kath... Maya's life as a Slayer would be like," he really had to stop stumbling over her name like that. "I guess it's interesting to get an inside perspective on it."

"Well, she certainly has a much different life than I did. I was the only one. The fate of the world rested on my shoulders and thats not a fun responsibility." It was terrifying to know that if you messed up no one would know because there'd be nothing. "It's different for them now. There's hundreds of thousands of slayer around the world. Or course that doesn't mean they wont be picked off easily because of that but there's more people, more support. I was alone, just me, no one else. I could be surrounded by hunters but in the end it was just me against them. Not fun."

"Yeah, I guess... you have a point," he said slowly. "But... she doesn't seem to accept the help. She's weary. Cautious. Not trusting. When we found out... she almost destroyed half of the city losing control of her powers she was so upset. i can understand of course. I just... wish she'd open up without some demon erasing seven years of her life, you know?"

"Give her time, not everyone is open to help at first. I wasn't and now look at me... well I might be a bad example but I let a few people in." She could help but grin at the last part.
Right... cause that was all innocence.
Alright, so she was curious about him at first and he still was interesting.
Not in the way you're trying to fool yourself into thinking.
"I'm sure she'll come around." She slowed her walking so she was in step with his one. "All you can do is be around when she finally stops being so stubborn about it."

"Yeah, if I'm still around," he said moroesly. "Wow, i'm such a Debbie Downer today, aren't I? So much fun," he chuckled shaking his head ruefully, looking around as he did so. "Get ready, Rogue. We're approaching the warehouse. I think things are about to get interesting..."

"And why wouldn't you be around?" He didn't plan on leaving soon did he? Might be referring to Raven. "Well I don't plan on letting anything happen to you." She could almost promise that.
You're getting soft
She ignored the voice in her head and gave Doc a smile before looking up at the warehouse. "Lets scope the place out." Without waiting for confirmation from Doc she walked quietly to the nearest window and peeked inside. From her angle there wasn't much, she could see from shadow movement that there was indeed some one inside.
Turning back to Doc she motioned that there was indeed some one inside. If they wanted to barge in than they should do so quickly, the faintest scent of blood inside the building, both new and old.
Stupid vampires... traveling in more than one or two gets you caught... Hunters jump at the word 'nest'

Doc nodded, reaching into his jacket fo the small wooden dagger within. "so, you want to do this loud and messy or quiet and sneaky like?" He asked, looking around. No one else here. Just the vamps inside. He wanted to hurry and get this done and get inside where it was defensible. He really shouldn't have come out tonight. He was getting jumpy. He purposfully chose not to answer her question.

She noticed that he didn't answer her question which made her grow concerned. Maybe she should move ahead with her recent idea on getting in... She frowned at him before turning back to the matter at hand, the vampires inside.
"Quick... or..." She paused upon seeing the walk way over the second story balcony, a grin slowly forming on her face. Yeah, she was a bit crazy but it was going to be fun...
"I'll take the roof." Without even waiting for another word she used the gutter drainage pipe to climb to the top of the warehouse. Thankfully the skylight Doc had mentioned earlier was open and placed right where she could land easily on the walkway.
Slipping through the skylight was easy, it was landing on the walkway that proved to be difficult but she made it with minimal noise. Below there were five vampires sitting with two girls who looked terrified, it was almost like they were playing house. All sitting on run down couches with a coffee table in the middle.
"Aw, don't want to party any more?" one of them coo'd stroking her cheek. There was a woman laying on the floor face down and from the smell of her dead. Another one of the vampires leaned into the other woman about to bite her neck. Perfect. She lept down from the walkway, landing on the table which collapsed from the force. With a feral grin she looked at the vampires pulling out a stake with ease.

Doc slid into the warehouse, keeping to the shadows. Yeah, his Talent allowed him to keep up with low level vamps, but he didn't know if these guys were low level (though judging by hte mack luster material, he guessed yes), so keeping to he shadows, taking out one of hte vamps to the side of Rogue before any of them noticed. "Oh, I'm sorry, was this party invitation only?" He asked as h dusted vamp dust off his shoulder.

"Slightly cliche." She had to laugh though. In a swift movement she took out one of the vampires in front of her, before stepping back and knocking another vampire over the couch he was just sitting on and punched a third vampire in the face. This one seemed ready for an attacked and threw off her next punch and countered with one of his own, pushing her back a step. Grinning at this she kicked at the vampire and he blocked it with his hands. This time she caught a punch to his chin, sending his back several paces when the vampire she knocked behind the couch grabbed her from behind.
"Really?" More of a bored statement than a question, she slammed her head into his nose, causing the vampire to cry out suddenly in pain and blood began to seep down his nose.

"Hey, why mess with the classics?" he asked, pumping his Talent. Yeah, these guys were worse than noobs.
They were DUMB noobs.
He grabbed a vamp about to attack Rogue, smashing an open palm into his nose and his dagger into his heart, moving straight through him as he turned to dust looking for his next opponent. "And that's one for hte dust buster," he said, body charging the next one and lifting him off his feet. "and one for the trash heap."

With a wicked grin she threw her stake at the fourth vampire, not even watching as his body turned to dust before turning to the last vampire who was the only one of the pathetic group that was even putting up a fight. She roundhouse kicked the vampire who rolled with it, taking minimum force without getting himself thrown and punched Rogue in the stomach. She punched him back, giving her time to pull out her dagger and decapitate the vampire who had long past his expiration.
She turned to look back at Doc before looking for the two captive women, who had already long since run off.
They better run... She ignore the comment before smiling at Doc. "Well that was fun. Anything else?" Yeah, that was fun but it was also kind dull. When you fight vampires for so long you realise they become very predictable and boring.

"Doc quickly finished off the last vamp, turning to Rogue. "Well, the idiots seem to like the idea of being a chew toy for the second time to several hours. Should we let them?"

She ignored his comment clearly resisting the urge to roll her eyes at him.
"And why do you think you wont be around to get to know Maya?" she asked, not letting him drop the subject this time. Though it did seem weird to approach the subject with a dead body so close to them but it seemed to be the norm these days.
"Do you plan on confronting Raven?" Now that would almost be funny. Earlier he was trying to convince and scare her into backing down and then only to turn around and try it himself.
"Unless... unless you plan on joining him." Now that was another thought that was scary. "Cause if you do I'm going in after you." She was serious about that threat. She wasn't going to let him just because it was easier. To hell with that.
