((Thought you might have some fun with this thread luv. It's like Mal meeting Dana's 'parent'. ))
After the months of working with Mal to control the voices in her head she was having more and more lucid days and now she was tired of hiding where she was going from her watcher so today, she thought she'd bring her watcher to meet Mal. With all the voices in her head though she knew Doc wouldn't be so happy should he come in but she didn't care about that. She wanted Lizzy and Mal to meet.
Taking Lizzy's hand she opened the door that used to lead to the bathroom but now led to the library where books lined the shelves and seemed to go on for quite a bit.

Despite what Matt had told her about where Dana was going she was still expecting something more sinister than a simple library. It was more than obvious that Dana was improving with whatever work this 'Mal' character was doing and the way Dana talked about him seemed almost too good, but while she didnt' like her slayer going off she couldn't help but be impressed with how much Dana had become almost normal, though normal was a very relative term in the world they lived in.
Of course none of her books had any information about a library that you could access from any door way but that didn't mean that such a place didn't exist. It only meant that it was either too new or too old to be in any records but also after the attack on the council most of the books where destroyed and so complete records were almost impossible to gather without paying a high price for them.

"Back again, Dana, Mal said, coming up from a basement with a pile of books. "I managed to track down a demon hunter that had apparently raided a council storehouse. there are some books in here I've been using to identify some of the Sl..." he stopped as he noticed Elizabeth, putting the books down. "We have a guest i see. your Watcher?" He stepped forward, holding out a hand. "Nice to meet you, Ms Jenkins. I am Mal."

The edge of her lip twitch in an almost smile before she extended her hand and took Mal's hand in hers. "I gathered. Nice to finally meet you as well." Looking over at the books Mal had just mentioned before looking back at Mal. "The council never was any good at protecting their books now were they? Over the centuries many sorts have come and stolen books from their various libraries or watchers."

"yes, thought anyone actually willing to let go of such books are rare," he said, placing a hand on the books in question. "Of course, I do have something that everyone wants, and most are willing to give nearly anything for it."

"Well, obviously the demon hunter wasn't a collector of books, probably just did it to piss the council off. Good on them. Full of rubbish the whole lot of them." May sound weird coming from a watcher but she had no love for the old council's ways and though she was a young watcher when the slayer Buffy was called but when Giles had been denounced as a watcher she was thrilled someone was willing to stick it to them. Of course that was the bad streak in her that was so thrilled.

"Perhaps I should introduce you to Jackson," Mal mused. "He had a very similar view, though his held a bit of meaning other than a rebellious phase."

"Oh, I've read his file and Dana may trust him but I certainly hold no hope on the idea, given his dislike for anything Council related. I may have gotten the info on his case and the watchers involved but I doubt he'd care too much about meeting me. Way I see it that guy was fair game." Running a finger down the spine of one of the books on a shelf. "Surprised he ended up in jail and not an alley given Doc's dislike for watcher who knew nothing but let a man who had his family's blood on his hands go to jail."

"So was I," Mal admitted. "Happily, buT surprised none the less. I believe I know the reason for his mercy, but that's really nothing for me to be revealing," he nodded. "Ah that reminds me. I was going to have Rogue deliver this via Matthew. One moment," he vanished behind the stacks only to reappear holding a CD. "I believe this is a list of books the Council has lost. i may be able to have copies for you, if you wish."

"I would certainly appreciate that. You are interested in the slayer line from what you were saying when we entered, correct? If so I do have some books in my personal library that you might be interested in. I'd need them back of course, I'm not so careless about those as my past watchers have been."

"Oh you have no worries in that respect. In fact..." he gave her a slightly entcing grin. "How would you like to truly help with my research into the Slayer line?"

"It would depend on the nature of the help needed."

"Oh nothing difficult," he said. "You can ask Dana, she knows I'm on the level. All i need are some names, dates and places."

Mal just grinned at Dana. He always did like explaining to people just what he did. Disbelief could be so much fun. "Jackson calls me a 'Walking Google Search'," he began. "And it's close. I have a connection to the unlimited database that is our planet. Every piece of information is open to me. with, of course, the right key words. You give me a date, place and name and I can tell you anything and everything you'd like to know about a Slayer. It's similar to Dana's situation and is, in fact, how I've been helping her. by catagorising the Slayer's and the knowledge tey hold so she can access them at will."
