((easier to do this bit in third person, but will be back to maya 1st person next post))
Downstairs in the main room, a couple of books that were left out suddenly fluttered open, and then flew off the table all together as a wind whipped up out of nowhere, forming a tornado in the middle of the room. When the wind disapated a quickly as it came, two people were lying in the middle of the floor.
Joshua stirred, his entire body aching and his mind spinning... what had happened? He blinked a few times, and flexed his arms, every muscle screaming in pain. Then his eyes flew wide and he sat up,
"Mai?!" He looked around and found her lying next to him, a huge slash across her midriff, her face and arms covered in cuts and scratches, but the blood that soaked her clothes was dry, and soft breath passed her lips. "Shit... Maya?" He said more quietly, stroking hair away from her face and checking for any more major wounds. Suddenly she was moving, grabbing his wrist and flipping him over, her right forearm pressed against his throat as she landed on top of him, her eyes wide and wild. "MAI ITS ME!" He cried. SHe swallowed, shaking slightly, and released her hold on him,
"Josh... sorry.... I..." She sat back and looked around at the dojo, "What happened?? You're a mess."
Josh frowned, before looking down at himself- he was in a similar state to Maya.
"I have absolutely no idea." He admitted. Maya was examining her own bloody arms with a look of concern,
"Thats never good." SHe murmured.
It was then that a sound from upstairs cut through, voices raised in anger. The pair looked at eachother, and headed for the stairs. By the time they reached the library they had heard a good portion of Jessy's rant, and an uneasy storm was forming in Maya's stomach. They stepped into the library, side by side,
"Um... Jessy?" Maya said tentatively.
