"Are you sure you want to sell this place?" I asked him for the fifth tim that morning.
"Yeah, I'm sure," Doc said as he posted the For Sale sign in the window. For the past few months nobody except freeloaders, namely myself and a few other unnamed 'Champions' had been the customers of this Dojo, and without paying customers, even a guy as rich as Doc couldn't keep it open forever.
"I could help out, I've offered to more than once. Hell, I could afford Draconis, I can scrounge up a treasure or two to help you make a few more payments. Hell, I could probably find one treasure that could let you own the land and have L.A. pay you to keep your Dojo open."
Doc just shook his head, and locked the door.
Any second now, my backup should be arriving, I hoped, to convince this damn stubborn Austraillian to change his mind.

I gave a deep sigh. Master Lee had given me this place as a reward for saving his daughter, but when he'd moved on, so had his students.
"It's not like we need a place to hang out," I said glumly. "Training Centre's better equiped anyway.

"Yeah, but this place has, first of all, sentimental value. The Training Center isn't a place to hang out at, it's a place to get stronger at. This is *both*!" I kept trying to convince him, even as we turned away from the closed and For Sale signs.

I was in a very good mood for some reason, goddess knows why. I skipped the last few steps to the dojo, and looked at the sign in the window- i felt my good mood draining away. I threw open the door, and marched in, "What the hell is that in the window!?" I snapped. "A for sale sign." Joshua replied, nodding at Doc. "Why?" I exclaimed, getting more high pitched. "No one comes any more, Mai..." Doc began "We come!" I said. "But you dont pay." Doc reminded me. "But, but thats not fair! Where are we gonna go if some stupid stingy bastard buys it? You cant sell this place!" "Mai..." "No! I'll... i'll..." I smiled brightly, "I'll brainwash the land lord! Easy peasy, just a little bitta mind fiddling, and voila, free dojo!"

"Doc *is* the landlord," I told her, not joking and for once in my dealings with the beautiful Slayer entirely serious. "He's rich enough to keep it, but if he does and it's not making a profit, that raises red flags, not to mention a few eyebrows with the IRS and other business dealings."
"And for the record, Ms. 'hates me cause I've got a key to the Training Center', I've been trying to convince him to keep the Dojo. I hope you have better luck!" I stormed off into the back kitchen to grab a soda out of the fridge, leaving Maya and Doc to talk.

"Whats his problem?" I asked Doc, "I mean, i havent even been mean to him yet today." I sighed, "Doc, I'm serious here, you gotta keep this place- i'll do anything i can to help." I chuckled, "Brainwash who ever needs brainwashing- but you put so much into this- you love this place an' i know it. Dont sell. Please?"

I grimly walked to the Dojo and opened the door without so much as a glance at the window
'Why the hell are you selling this place? I could hear Mai's anguished thoughts from a mile away! Now listen to me Doc, you damn well love this place and we all do. We hang out here y'know? But I know you don't want this. Just take Mai up on the damn brainwashin idea and let me get back to sleep without her spell ideas mucking up my dreams'

"Look, as much as I'd like to keep this place, I can't," I said. "It's... Look, just drop it guys. It's on the market now."

I sighed
'I'm sorry Doc. We know how much the place means to you, and if you want to talk just talk yeah?' I stifled a yawn 'Now if you'll excuse me I have to wake up'

"Here you go," I handed her the mug of coffee I had made in the kitchen and handed a second to Maya, who accepted it quietly and without comment.
"While I agree with Nicki that it is entirely your decision my friend . . . don't for a second think that we're just going to let you make the second biggest mistake of your life."
"Mistake, what mistake?" he asked. Then he looked bewildered, "Second?"
I smirked and shared an infuriating grin with Maya, who had instantly caught on, "Your second is getting rid of this place. Your first . . . well it was having *all* of us as your closest friends."

"Hey Doc I'll buy the place." I said as I walked in, everyone looked at me, "You will?" Doc asked, "Yeah sure, do you take monoply money?"

Doc and I stare at each other, even Nicki and Maya cast a confused look into the lott. Finally all four of us blurt out at the incredible steam-mouth, "*Monopoly* money??"

"Yeah. Why not?" I ask as I bring out a hell of a lot of 'real' cash out of my pocket, "This is monopoly money isn't it?" I ask
