The night before, i had followed Doc to the Dojo, but seeing that he was getting into some sort of deep meditation, i thought better of interupting him, and instead returned in the morning to find Nicki and Del there. "Hey guys." I said. "Doc- you ok?" I could feel that something major had past here, and tried to shake off the slight hurt that swelled at knowing I had missed something. Doc nodded unconvincingly. I half smiled, "Here, drink this." "What is it?" He asked suspiciously. "Cure for the love spell we were all under... i dont know if your anger at Ate fiddling it snapped you out, but i'm not taking any chances- drink it... and do bare in mind that Ate was also under the influence of the spell- dont blame her too much, ok? I... I know you have a thing about mental interference- i remember all too well how pissed you got at me when i over used my telepathy way back when. Just..." I trailed off, and held out the small bottle.

((I think we may have done this back in the original thread, but oh well.))
"Ta, mate," I said, swigging it down. "Ugh! You could have added some flavour to it, couldn't you?"
"So, what's the what?" Maya asked. I turned to the secret stairs down to the lower levels. "Del, you tell her. Once a day's enought for that one," with that, i heade to the vaults. A couple artifacts did need iding. It kept my mind off Laurana, at least.

((we nearly did it, but i think doc went off in anger and said something like 'later'.))
I looked to Del, and she merely reached out and touched two fingers to my forehead, giving me the memory of Doc's story. I closed my eyes, clenching my teeth, and nodded, before jogging after Doc. "Hey." I said, "Wait up." He glanced round at me, but kept walking. "Oi." I snapped, and ran to his side, grabbing his arm. I pulled him into a hug, kissing his cheek, and holding the man i thought of as a brother tight. When i stepped back, i just said, "I'm sorry."

I shook my head, my smile turning back into a smirk at Doc's words. Since I was pretty much confined to the dojo, I figured I might as well do something productive and followed Doc up the stairs.
"So... what are we gonna do now?"

"Actually, I need a favour," Del," I said as we moved to one of the lesser vaults downstairs. "I found this scroll, ages ago. It's in some dialect I don't recognise. "It's not elvish, I know that. It's something else. I was kind of hoping you could translate for me?"
((Del, check your messages. There's a particular reason for this bit.))

((aaah a plot! yummy!))
I nodded slowly. "I'll doo my best," I replied, "provided I know the language. There are a few summarian dialects I haven't had the patience to pick up yet..." I trailed off, looking into the distance. Damn those Summarians.
After a moment, I shrugged. "Let's see this scroll."

"In here," I said, opening the vault door. I led the girls up to one glass case in particular and entered the code on the pad to open it.
"You and your toys," Aredhel smirked. I smiled.
"I'm paranoid," I admitted. "This is it. Well?"
"I think I can," she muttered. "Give me a sec... not elvish..."
"Told ya."
"Yeah, yeah," she muttered. She let out a small gasp. "It refers to... I think this is a reference to the Forging of teh first Soul Sabre."
"Well," I said wryly. "That's interesting. What have you got?"

"Hush," I snapped at Maya, not out of irritation, just because I was getting absorbed in the scroll. It was an obscure dialect of an equally obscure language that I'd long since forgotten the name to. Such obscure dialects often required a lot of concentration to translate properly.
"Ok, this says that the forging of the first soul sabre involved Raiden, Heapasteus, a dwarf and-" I stopped suddenly, my eyes riveted on the page. "An elf," I finished quietly, astonished. "Holy shit..."
Doc raised an eyebrow. "Del? What's so big about an elf being involved?"
I looked up at him sharply. "Because that elf is named as the Noble Song. Aralin! My sister! She was involved in the forging of the first soul sabre! That's what's so big about an elf being involved!"
I didn't hear his response as I went back to reading the scroll. Why would Aralin create a soul sabre? I wanted to find out.

"Cool." I said, and continued looking round the vaults.

Aralin. Aredhel's sister. Del's...
"What else, Del?" I asked carefully, intrigued. "Oh, and Mai? Down the end, second shelf. Some kind of boomerang, only slightly sharper. Strange writing all down it's side. Made for a Slayer. Have fun."

"Ooh!" I said brightly, and practically skipped down to the end. The item Doc described was a deep reddish brown, the inside edge and the tip of the outside sharpened to fine blades. As Doc had said, there were strange carvings along it- some language i'd never seen before. I carefully picked it up, weighing the weapon in my hand. "Hell yeah." I said under my breath. I looked closer at it- i may have always seemed like a weapon mad psycho, but i wasn't stupid. I could see how the curve of the boomerang would give a clean, quick turn, how the weigh would give it a nice speed, and the inner edge a nasty hook. At school... before i dropped out, that is, i had been pretty good at physics, though i'd never let on. I ran a finger along the tip of the curve, testing the blade, and blood welled up. I smiled, "Nice." a few drops of blood drippe onto the carved surface, and the words began to... flow? "Whoa!" I exclaimed, "YO! Doc, Del, come look at this!"

"Back in a sec, Del," I said, roling my eyes. Del mumbled something I didn't here as I went to see Maya. "Alright, what...?" I looked at teh floing wrting. "What did you do?"
