"He should be here soon." I said, wondering where my brother was, and what he was doing.

Suddenly Toraan appeared out of nowhere.

"I am ready... all we need now is to lure Maya into the trap." Toraan explained, "I will show you where the shrine is, all I needed was some spare stones... I fear that one may not be enough."

i could feel them, planning, plotting...but they would not defeat me. They would lure me in, and then i would take my pick as to which one i would inhabit when this mortal shell expired. Her feeling were rather amusing to pick through... though she was still hidign some... she wouldnt let me see who was the most powerful... but soon i would break her.

*Josh*

Aila and I followed the others in silence, our hands clasped together. Neither of us knew if there was anything we could do to help... what if maya died? What if we were already too late...? And then off course there was the knowledge that Maya did this to herself. SHe had known that this was likely to happen. And true, if she hadnt done it then half of us would be dead by now, and the demonswould be swarming the city... but in my book this was worse. Maybe we'd be able to destory this 'La pietra di alimentazione' or whatever lin called it... but Maya was nearly dead before she was possessed, so how could she survive as long as an elf now? What would i do if i lost her? Or... heaven forbid, what if it took others too... what if it took Aila?
"Dad?" She said suddenly, and i almost jumped- she very rarely called me that. "Dont think like that, ok?"
I actually managed to chuckle,
"You really are just like your mother." I said with tears in my eyes.

I followed and watched them set it up. "It's easier said than done to get her here. Do we even have anything she might want or anything to get her here?"

I swallowed, hating what i was about to say, but knowing that it was true, and had to be said.
"Doc." I finally said, in a coraky voice. "She wants Doc."

I looked at Doc then to Josh.

Toraan led everyone down the crypt where he magially opened a secret door. Inside there was a shrine, with two pure white stones attached to it...

"This is where Maya nees to come." He said pointing to the circle just in front of the shrine, "the moment she steps in there, she will be trapped by an invisible barrier I have in place which should hold her just long enough for the procedure to finish."

"But first... we need bait." I said looking at Doc, an evil glint in my eye...

I saw the glint in Zeroc's eyes and looked at Doc and sighed.

"This can only turn out bad," I said pulling out my swordand holding it towards the ground.

"Then let's do this," I said, stepping into the circle and tapping into everything.

Myself.

My position as one of Raiden's warriors.

My Soul Sabre.

My new, Balanced self.

My very soul.

"You want power?" I growled, releasing it in a flash of light. "Feel this!"

She came. Suddenly I was a back seat driver and Kerona was in the front. It was amazing.

I stood their waiting knowing it was the only thing I could do at the moment.

I felt a shiver through me- ooh, Doccy boy was angry. And damn he had some power locked inside of that mortal form... so why was he displaying it to me? I smiled mirthlessly- he was drawing me in, possibly even trying to stop me from considering other hosts... I gasped, grabbing hold of a shelf to keep myself upright. Damn it, the slayer was dying. Her body would not last much longer. Time for musical chairs, i decided.

I headed for the graveyard, knowing that they were all there, most of them, waiting. the ex-timewizard, maya's lover; and their child, Aila; the sired slayer; the elves; that idiot warlock, and more. It would make no difference. They wouldnt be able to stop me. I could walk right into their group, take Doc, and not one of them would harm me for fear of killing Maya.

She was coming. I could feel it. My heart rate rose as we waited, Doc standing just outside the circle on the opposite side from the entrance to the tomb, energy flowing through him.
This could so easily go so wrong.
I wouldnt allow myself to think of my mother. I couldnt. This was about many lives, not just hers... and yet i felt a lump in my throat even thinking that. Part of me was in agrreement with my father- who cares what happens as long as Maya lives? I nearly smiled at the answer- Maya.

I stood outside the tomb- why were they here? i wasnt stupid- this was very specific...
I laughed- who cares? Not one of them has power enough to trap me! I flung the door open.
Show Time.

I looked over at Doc, then back to Maya... she didn't move, and no-one was going to make her...

'Sorry Maya... but this has to be done' I thought slowly and carefully turning my arm into a sword and waiting...

Doc started moving back, just behing the now invisible circle that Maya had to step into, if she went for Doc now, she would have to walk right through it.
