I shook my head. He just wasn't getting it, but Jessy seemed to get it bang on. No one was free of guilt, Spike was just a little less free than others. But I wouldn't give up on him; I'd be giving up on myself. Spike's past was horrible, but it was nothing compared to mine. Joshua just seemed to like holding grudges.
Walking around behing Josh, I physically pulled him back from Maya's protective arms. "That is ENOUGH!" I shouted. "You are behaving like three-year-olds! And that, ladies and gentlement, simply will not do. William, stop baiting him! Josh, stop being such an easy target!"
I glared at everyone, letting my command sink in. I was officially in charge. Turning back to Spike, I put on an obviously fake smile. "So, William, got anywhere to stay?"

"I thought i could bunk with the slayer." He teased, producing an actual growl from Joshua, and a snort from me, "Shut up spike." I snapped. "I'm in the hyperion." He relented. "That old abandonned hotel?" Rachelle asked. Spike smirked. "Yep- the ex-headquarters of Angel-inc. All abandoned and very much free."

I just sighed, and decided to push my luck, very much aware that it was rapidly running out. I stepped back forward, right in front of Spike.
"You know who I am? You remember me?" I demanded of him.
He seemed to hesitate, but after a heavy sigh, he nodded with a downcast look.
"Look at me," I demanded, and our eyes met. He flinched at the pure and undoubtedly almost burning hatred he saw in mine, while I actually tempered that fire of hatred within me when I saw the guilt and sorrow and self-loathing I saw in his.
"You know why I hate you vampire," I hissed at him, "And don't even try to deny and say it was a different life time or that it wasn't you. It wasn't you, but you remember doing it and being the one that did those things."
The air was tight with tension, and just as the others were about to pull me off of him again, Spike himself held up his hands to forestall them. "He's got a right to say his piece," he told them, "and I more than deserve his scorn. I deserve a lot more for what I've done over the past two hundred years. The least I can do is listen to what he has to say."
"Thanks," I said to him, my voice not a fraction less hard than it had been. "Spike, I don't like you, and I could spend an hour on that alone, but I'll only say this. Stay away from me, and you'll get to keep your unlife. Come near me for any reason that does not involve delivering a message that will save lives, and we'll do more than throw down as you put it."
He winced again at those choice words, but I pressed on. "Oh, and one last thing. Maya is her own woman, and I would never presume to tell her to do or not do anything. She can also make her own decisions about friends and boyfriends. No teasing. I'm done now." I sent him one last scathing, hate-filled glare and then roughly turned my back on the souled vampire and stormed off.
I didn't hear what happened after me, and for the time being, I didn't care if anyone followed me, or cursed me on my way out. He deserved what he got and more, fighting for his soul or not.

((Josh, hope you don't mind me taking eensie weensie control of your char for a post. lemme know if I should change this post))
"You think its easy?" came a voice to Joshua's left. Aralin stepped out of the shadows. "You think it's that simple?"
"You don't know what he did to me," he growled.
"I, quite honestly, don't care," Aralin spat back. This wasn't her fight, she tried to remind herself, but it was no good. Part of her sister was starting to wear off on her, and it was certainly not the elven part that she already possessed. It was the vampire: the modern warrior.
"You just can't see it, can you?" she continued angrily. "And don't try to tell me that I do not know what it feels like, because I do. I know exactly what it feels like. My sister, my own flesh and blood, Joshua. Evil as Melkor himself. I know what it is to see the people you love laid to ruin by a monster. And I know what it is to hate them with every fibre of your being."
"It was different for you," Josh muttered. "She's your sister."
"And you think that makes it easier? You think it changes things? I watched her kill the last of my family, lay waste to my house. I watched her burn, pillage and plunder. And I watched her grieve. I watched her hurt. Every day, I watched her hurt. You have no idea, child. No clue. You haven't felt it. You haven't lived without a soul; done terrible things. They have to live with themselves every day: to be strong despite everything. They carry themselves, and they are making ammends. Judging by that display, you don't have an ounce of the strength they have. Whatever you feel does not come close to what they feel inside themselves. Whatever hate you harbor is nothing next to the hate they harbour on their own."
"They deserve to be hated," Josh replied stubbornly. "They deserve to die."
"Many who live deserve death," Aralin retorted, anguished. "But many who die deserve life. Can you give that to them? Will killing and threatening them make them come back? Will it bring back his victims? Will it bring back my family? Do not be so quick to deal out judgement on others."
((yea, I stole it from Tolkien, but it's a really, really good point. Oh, and the bit about Melkor? Since they're elves, I stole a bit of elvish lore from Tolkien as well. Anyone who's anyone (mainly: the really big Tolkien Geeks) will know that Melkor was once a god of the elves before he went really really evil and tried to kill them all. Cliff's notes version. And if you think Sauron was bad, consider this: Sauron was Melkor's servant (of sorts, its complicated).))

I walked over to Spike and pulled out the glaive which didn't seem to be making his position any more comfortable.

I turned to follow Joshua, and Spike called, "Maya..." "What?" I asked. "I'm sorry, Doll." He said, "I didn't mean to wet the kid's blanket." I rolled my eyes, "Sometimes you'd do better to leave the words in your mouth, Spike." I said. He sighed, "I'm sorry." "I know." I replied, and went after Josh, only to find him with Arlin. "Josh?" I said, jogging up behind him. Arlin said nothing to me, but gave Joshua a very significant look before heading back towards the others. "Joshua?" "Yeah?" "You ok?" "..." Joshua didn't reply. "Look... i know spike did some terrible things, but he is at least trying to make amends. You have to realise that the fact that you saw the things he did doesnt make him any worse than those you didnt see, like Del, Angel... even Faith and Willow did their fair share, Josh, and you take their council no questions asked. I can apprieciate that you dont like him... but i wont let you hurt him." "Cos you two are so close." He finally said, his words full of bitterness, anger and sorrow- i wondered what arlin had said. But now i stopped walking, resting hand on his arm to stop him. There was something i had to clear up. "What you said, back there... Joshua..." I touched his cheek, "I'm yours. You know that, right? of course i can make my own choices, and thats it- I'm yours."

I turned to Spike, who was looking at me oddly. "What?"
"You are the spitting image of.. Well nevermind."
"Tell me!"
"Darla. You look like Darla." He admitted.
"Thanks!" Then I realised it might not be a compliment. "Who's Darla?"
"Vamp."
"Oh great. Wanna go to The Spot? These guys could do with a drink."

I bared my teeth and walked out of the warehouse, Spike and Rory beside me, Killian and the others following. Half way there a fat guy with a big forehead(no prizes for guessing who) appeared out of the shadows and adressed Spike.
"Spike! Where have you been?"
"Saving some people, meeting up with old friends and at the moment trying to get a drink." Up until then I'd been slightly behind Spike and thus blocked from the newcomer's point of view. I took a step forward and the newcommer reeled back in shock. Spike grinned.
"What did I tell you? Spitting image of Darla!"

"Hello Angel." I greeted, and he nodded. He joined me as we walked out of the warehouse.
"Killian, what brings you to LA?" He asked.
"Same thing that brought you here." I said.
"What, a girl?" Angel said, thinking of Buffy.
I laughed. "Okay, the other thing that brought you here."
"Helping the helpless."
"Why else would I be here?" I joked.
"It's good to see you again, Killian." Angel said.
"So, what's been happening since I saw you last?" I asked, interested.
"Spike...he's been giving me a hard time." Angel said through gritted teeth, glancing at the blonde vampire ahead. "He's wherever I go, all the time."
I laughed. "I'm sure you like that."

((Jess I took the glaive out aaaages ago. Sorry I was a bit slow about replying lol... Aww and Angel isn't fat he's just a little chunky. Oh and I have no idea what to write but I'm quite bored so I'm going for pointless))
'Wow so you're the infamous one with the angelic face? I can see why people percieve you as broody, what with the tall, dark handsome thing you got going. Very unlike platinum over here' I grinned at Spike 'You're like total opposites. Easy to see why you fight alot'
'And you are?'
'Nicki Next. Sister of Katelyn and I've crossed paths with Oz a few times over the years. It's nice to meet you anyways'
'Likewise. You're a real ball of hyper aren't you?'
'One of the best'

I kissed Mai for what she said. I kissed her good, long, hard, and passionate. Breathless, we finally pulled just far enough away from each other to stare into the other's eyes and say a word or two.
"I gave him my warning. I'll never like him, and I can swear before anything and anyone you want me to that we'll never be friends. But I'll tolerate him. For you. Only for you . . . my Mai."
Mai's grin grew to blinding proportions, and unable to stand the glare, I just kissed her again, where we spent several more minutes until somebody neither of us would immediately dust, tried to seperate us. Then we both punched the person and resumed kissing for several more minutes after that. *Then* we started to make out.

'For the love of crap!' I pushed out my hands and the two who were once surgically attached at the mouth flew apart. I put up a strong barrier between them so they could merely hug but no liplocking 'If you so much as attempt to do that again you're going to suffer consequences'

"I agree." I said, giving them a look in what I hoped was 'If you do that again, I will hurt you' look. But they just grinned. I felt kind of annoyed that I wasn't so good at the agressive threatening look. But then again, they were mega powerful something or others, so i guess they wouldn't have been intimidated by someone like me. A flinch would have been nice though.
