TPot and I winced as Josjua hit the ground. "Ow."
"Yeah," TPot agreed.
"Geez, Mai. Head butt would have done just as good."

I shrugged, "Hey, its not MY fault that he's a guy."

"Note to self," I gasped as I got to my knees, "Never let her do that again."
"Like you could actually stop me," she teased.
Still wincing with pain, I slowly got to my feet, and prepared my body for more fighting, despite whatever protests it gave me.
"Well," I said with a little effort, "why don't you try it again and we'll find out."
She smirked and then moved forward faster than ever, aiming another kick, probably at full strength too.
My arms moved without thinking, and faster than Maya just did, and tapped her leg. The limb flew out and away and threw the Slayer off-balance, almost knocking her to the ground before she caught herself.
Suprised, and looking impressed, Maya came back and we started sparring again. Only to the others it probably looked like I was doing the Kung Fu thing and barely moving with what looked like little strength behind it but having as great, or greater effect as all of Maya's Slayer fighting had.
Kanimaro at full power.

Outside i was smiling, but inside, i was grinning widely. Now THIS was fun. Joshua had some skills under his belt, and unlike most of the fights i get into, i actually had to think a bit. To be truthful, it wasn't as if i was going full out, but it wasn't a walk in the park, thats for sure. His moves were swift and simple, but packed quite a damned punch due to angles and physics, rather than sheer strength. Some part of me thought maybe i could ask him about it, but more of me scoffed- not a chance, like i'd take help from him!? I dodged, and moved, each of us alternating blocks and attacks. I could see that the main downfall of Joshua's style was that it went by rules, followed lines, whereas mine came from simple instinct and moves learnt through experience, not just someone else showing it to me. Still, i was impressed- he was actually giving me a bit of a challenge. And i was having fun. As he punched, i turned with his fist, grabbing it as it passed me and twisting him so that he fell off balance, and fell hard on his back. I swung a leg over, and sat across his stomach, pinning him. I grinned, and tapped his chest with a finger, "If you were a vamp, you'd be dead." I told him.

I watched on, admiring the styles my friends used. They were conflicting styles, Joshuas straight forward, planned movements, Maya more wild, reflex and instinct leading the frey.
"No wonder demons are scared of these guys," I whispered silently.

I looked down at Joshua, briefly wondering if he knew that I knew that he had feelings for me... or for my figure anyway... I nearly laughed- i could tease him SO much. I thought.

The microsecond my back hit the mat, I moved. And left an energy duplicate at my back. Yeah, Maya had said no Ninja techniques, but if ole' Drac can use it against Buffy, I can use the Replacement technique against Maya.
"Ah-hem," I coughed after Maya sat there, staring at the doppleganger for a half a minute. She jerked in surprise and looked down. The 'other' me suddenly exploded in harmless smoke and when it cleared, a small punching bag about my size lay there, while I stood at the ready just behind her.
Another part of the replacement technique is to leave thought-patterns behind with the energy of the duplicate, which can further fool someone, especially if that someone is a psychic. Usually the thoughts are just pure subconscious base emotions, as much a side effect of creating the doppleganger as the energy needed to create it in the first place.
"How did you do that?" Maya demanded. I smirked.
"Tell you what, since you and Willow did me a big favor in helping me to learn how to control my Time Bubble powers over the summer, if, IF you win this fight, not only will I tell you, but I'll teach it to you. Imagine doing stuff like that to the vampires and demons."
Maya grinned wildly, and with a surge of motion, leaped at me. I barely managed to dodge in time, but not before landing a hit, that combined with Maya's momentum, crashed her, uncontrolled into the floor near the edge of the mat. That musta hurt.

IF? He was questioning my ability to beat him? Ok... so maybe that was a little arrogant, but hey, it was joshua, i thought. I wondered if he'd considered the fact that his fancy move had meant that i he missed out on having me sitting stradled over him- i guessed that he hadnt... I shivered, ew. The thought of him liking me was still grossing me out. And now he'd knocked me down... maybe it was time to stop holding back? I grinned, Careful there girl, i thought, dont wanna kill the guy. While he was still grinning about his move, i began. I dodged towards him from the left, fiegning long enough to get him moving in the right direction, so that when i dived into a roll to the OTHER side, he was facing away from me, and my snap kick to the small of his back sent him sprawling to the ground. He was up quickly, and the fight resumed its speedy movement, attacks flying back and forth. My foot caught him behind the knee, and he went down painfully, crying out. I guess he saw the flicker of concern on my face, because he grinned widely as he grabbed my arm and twisted, forcing me down too. I actually snarled as i gathered my legs up and kicked him in the stomach, knocking him back, and jumping up myself. Right. Thats it. I thought. enough playing.

"Oh crap," I muttered. "Maya, get a grip. You don't want to kill him. Hurt him a little, yeah. Put him in that healing coma thing maybe, but no killing. You hear me girl?"
"Yeah yeah," she muttered as Joshua hit the mat. Hard.
"Maybe this wasn't such a good idea," I muttered with concern.

This was starting to get painful.
I flipped back up to my feet, just in time to get Maya's foot in the small of my back, knocking me forward several feet. I used my momentum to launch me into a cartwheel, which I added several flips to it and then I upped my speed, or rather my acceleration through Time. To Maya though, since it was to such a small degree and no actual magic was used, I just got a major speed boost.
I used every trick I knew to get me behind Maya's back, from using after-images, to dodge and weave, to just short of teleporting, since I can't teleport.
As I came up behind her, adjusting my vision to see more in energy rather than light, I struck four points on Maya's back, and when she turned to strike at me, another point on her thigh.
I returned my vision to normal and immediately beat a hasty, but safe retreat, keeping my eyes on Maya the whole time.
She was probably wondering why I had barely tapped her and then started leaping away from her. In about thirty seconds, she would find out . . .

He'd gone for friggin pressure points- bastard. And i swear we said no non-physical abilities, i thought in irritation. I twisted, and saw his cringe as i cracked my back, as Faith had taught me, making his fancy moves null and void. With barely a second's lost time, i spun, my foot hitting the side of his face, and him flying sideways to land hangin of the edge of the mat with a little trickled of blood at his mouth. "Had enough yet?" I asked, standing ready for any move he could make from that position.

"Maya, enough!" I snapped. She spun to face me, more than a little annoyed. "First blood, Maya. No more. He's had enough."

"Oh." I whined. "I wasn't gonna hurt him..." I grinned, "Much." "Ow." Joshua commented. I rolled my eyes. "Boring." I said, sitting on the edge of the mat.

Suddenly, the bleeding-me looked up at Maya, looking down at him and smirked just before exploding into harmless smoke.
"What the...! Again!" Maya screamed as she got to her feet looking wildly around for me. Half a second later, without a bleeding lip, I leaped out of the smoke, dispelling the minor illusion around me. While Maya's back was turned I used the distraction to kick her in the small of the back, as she had done me and then moving faster than her I fliped out of the way of her attack and did a backflip, which brought my extended leg in a solid kick against her chin, knocking the girl back almost ten feet, more to the center of the mat.
"Those weren't pressure points Maya," I said, taunting, "They were energy points. I disabled your Slayer speed and reflexes. Not your strength since we are in over 15 Gs by now, but now I don't have to use my time manipulating abilities to be faster than you!"
Then I really poured on the speed.

"Ok." I growled angrily, "FIrstly, this is meant to be NO POWERS!! I'm pretty sure making smoky replicants of yourself counts are powers! So if you weren't cheating, or i used my powers too, i'd have whooped you by now." I watched him dodge about, taunting me, "And secondly, You think the only reason i was beating you was my slayer reflexes?" I dodged infront of him, using his OWN speed and momentum to flip him over, using the tiniest sliver of power to hold his little shadow tricks at bay, and threw him down on his front. The next thing he felt was my knee in his back as i dropped on him, pining his arms with my hands, my second foot pressed against one of his ankles. I leant in to his ear, "It's called skill, doofus." I said. I knew that any movement he made would cause excruiciating pain to several parts of his body. "Your call." I whispered, not entirely nicely.
