((day after 'heating up')) I sat on my bed in my tiny apartment, scanning through books on gems and stones, and all their myriad properties- one stone could do some many different things if combined differently... Ok, here we go, i thought... grounding stones, protecting stones-perfect... Hematite, Sapphire, Tourmaline black... Onyx to stabalise, comfort... oh, and give faith... this could work. I went to a drawer, pulling out a large cardboard box in which many of my witchy-supplies were housed. It looked such a simple thing, so easily broken into... I grinned, woe betide anyone who tried. I whispered the spells to remove the bindings, and opened the box to find the crystals. I paused, an odd feeling in my stomach- "Oh fantastic." i gasped. I shoved the lid back on, resealing the spells before bolting to the bathroom. When i rememerged, i was pale, and felt crap. "I really shouldn't bother eating at all." I complained.

With a lump of cheese in my hand, despite my earlier statement, i continued my research into the best way to augment the crystals and protect my friends. After a while, i looked at the lump in my hand. A lump of cheese, all on its own. I shook my head. Wierd. I looked at my watch- it was still only 11 in the morning, but it seemed like i'd been up hours and hours. I hoped that someone would find some obscure reason to drop by my apartment...

((since it's the DAY, I can't send Aredhel, but holy shit I think I know what's going on!! now to think of an obscure reason to visit Maya.... maybe it'll have something to do with why Aredhel hasn't had anything to do with what's been going on lately!))
[Aralin's POV]
I stood outside the door, feeling the familiar presence within. Unlike my sister, I wasn't close enough to these people to be able to say for certain that the witch in question was in fact on the other side of the door, but my elven blood and magic allowed me to recognize that whomever it was, s/he was familiar. And considering I had gone to Maya's apartment to find Maya, it was safe to assume that she was the familiar presence I felt.
I knocked, and had to wait only a moment before the door opened, and I was looking at Maya. She raised her eyebrows, surprised to see me. My haggard and worried appearance wasn't something she was used to either.
"Lin? Come on in..." I stepped into the apartment, still silent. "What are you doing here?" she questioned, not meaning to be rude but genuinely curious I guessed.
"Something is amiss. I have attempted to heal her myself, but my efforts are in vain. She wont wake up, I don't know why. I'm afraid that-" I paused, cocking my head to the side. "Are you alright?"

((one note: slayer paranoia- Maya never actually invites people in! Even when she knows them.))
"I'm fine." I said flippantly, "What were you saying though? Who wont wake up?" "My sister." She replied. "Del?" I exclaimed, "Where is she? What happened?"

As told to the day before I turned up at Maya's appartment ready, more than ready, to start fighting the new witch on the scene and still floating slightly from the good parts of the night before. I wasn't surprised to see Maya with various stones and spell books out but I was surprised to see a half-eaten lump of cheese and a distraught looking Aralin. "What's wrong?" I asked quickly, too much had been going wrong recently to waste time on pleasantries. "It's Del." Maya said looking as distraught as Aralin. I didn't quite know what to make of that...I couldn't conciously force myself to like the vampire elf but somehow I think I did so without meaning to. "Oh." Was all I could say.

I slipped my arms around Carlottes waits before she moved from the doorway. So we'd headed to Maya's at teh same time. must be a couple thing.
"Hey beautiful," I whispered. Then I looked inside the apartment. "what's going on? And what's with the cheese?"
"Something's wrong with Del," was the answer I recieved.
"Not our week," I muttered as I peeled myself away from Charlie. "Okay," I added with a smile, looking at my girl. "One good thing."
(((Back in 30 mins. Gotta go shopping.)))

"Theres nothing wrong with cheese!" I cried defensively. They all looked at me oddly, so i returned to the subject, "Lin- what happened?"

((I just realized I'm kinda stearing this thread away from the point (which, as you know, was Maya's witchyness)... sorry about that... I will now attempt to steer this thread back to its original purpose...))
[Still 'Lin's POV]
I let out a frustrated sigh, not meaning to grow impatient but finding that my sister's ailment had indeed made me a less agreeable person.
"If I knew what was wrong, don't you think I could have counteracted it?!"
"Calm down," Maya replied, sounding mildly irritated herself (though not so outwardly obvious as my own frustration). "This isn't the time to start snapping at people."
"I apologize," I replied. "It happened when she returned from Maya's apartment, after Joshua returned. She looked thoughtful for a moment, and then she muttered something about 'another' and coming back to see Maya, and then she simply collapsed."
Doc raised his eyebrows. "This happened after she came back from Maya's, and it took you a week to tell us about it?!"
I fought the urge to simply shrug. "There are no windows in the crypt; without the sun and moon to guide me, I did not realize how long I had tried to wake her. Don't you ever find that something demands all of your attention and you simply lose track of time?"
"Well, yea," Charlotte replied, "but we lose track of a few minutes, maybe an hour, not a week!"
Again I found myself wanting to shrug, but the urgency of the matter overrode my urge to be flippant with these people.
"I will live forever," I said seriously. "A week to me is nothing more than a minute or an hour to you." No one answered, and I continued. "I do not know what else to do, but since Maya is the strongest witch, and also very close to Aredhel, coupled with the fact that it was Maya whom my sister mentioned before she collapsed, I thought this would be the best place to come. I now see that perhaps you have your own troubles to deal with..."

"We always have troubles, Lin," I said. "Never stopped us from helping one of our own before. Not gong to now. Do you have any ideas what that last comment meant. This...other?"

I could hear that he was worried and I understood that...Doc always looked out for his friends but it was him I was worried about. We really needed Maya's spell. If only there were some way to tear her in half. I laughed silently to myself at the thought then grew serious again. Sometimes things just have to wait, I figured the spell would be one of them, A week's unconciousness had to be priority. "I can hit the books." I offered, It was something that at least I knew I could do well. "It'd be better if we had more information but I can make a start. There's all sorts of things that could put her to sleep...just too many to narrow it down at the moment. anyone else up for book hunting?" I asked not expecting a very enthusiastic response.

"Dojo," I said. "Not exactly at the level of the Training Centre's Library, but some of the tomes there a real rare," I decided not to tell Charlotte that i lifted some of them from Watchers.

"Sounds good." I said that tingling in my fingers beginning to start. Ok it was sad but research was kinda fun, intersting kind of fun...not quite in the leagues of last night but well you don't grow up with the watchers council and not get slightly excited about research. "You coming?" I asked Doc. I had a feeling that if he did we might end up spending more time behind the book shelved than reading but... well...that was ok by me.

"After you, milady," I said with a bow and a smile. Definately a good view from down here, I though as she walked past. Definately.
I got up and walked after her. I had to be the luckiest guy in the world.

"Lin- let's go see Del." I said, collecting some of my spell ingredients together, anything i though ti cold use on teh spot. I piled the mystical stones back into there box and rechecked the wards before putting it away. "I'll see if i can get a read on any spells or... goddess anything." There was no damned way that Del was getting... ok, staying hurt. I was not loosing anyone else.
