"It's a good thing Jessy and Pepper are downstairs." I gasped, assuming that they were.
"Yeah." Doc agreed. "'Cause it means I've got you all to myself."
"Always." I whispered holding him close.

We'd we'd finished our private moment - too soon for my tastes - and were about to walk out with bowls of chips when I felt it through my Sabre. Two souls a lot closer to where we were than they should have been.
"I don't believe those two," I muttered with a shake of my head as we headed towards the stairs.

I shifted back, as did Pepper, the moment I got downstairs and sat, a little breathless, pretending to read a book as Doc and Charlie came in. "Hi guys. Took you long enough."

"You'd better not leave me out of that." I added once i got over the fact that they had been watching...urgh...it made me shudder just thinking about it. The three of them were looking at me with mild surprise. "Hey, anyone as important to Doc as you are Jessy is important to me. Besides I reckon I still owe all of you a bit for letting me off the whole trying to kill yoou without giving you a chance thing."

I just had to laugh. There we'd been talking about protecting someone and he comes up with meh. Of all the obscure phrases.
