"Oh gods, why me?" I asked the heavens before sighing and focused on the fight. I threw my 'stake' at what should have been the head of the thing, using a couple tricks I knew to direct it and keep it on target.
The same barrier I'd run into in Nicki's head popped up and my little projectile bounced harmlessly to the floor.
"Oh this is gonna be fun," I mumbled sarcastically as I raced behind the bar, grabbed the hidden shotgun and started aiming.

"Let's see," I muttered, bringing up my Desert Eagle. "Bullet number one," a glowing bullet shot out and shatter the shield.
"The hell...?" Joshua demanded. I gave smile.
"Focus Soul Saber power up arm through gun into bullet," I said. "Shatter shield. Any questions?"

"Nice." I said with a grin, and ran forwards with my katana raised, slicing at the shadow demon. It bellowed, a red streak appearing on its smokey hide before steaming to melt back into him. He raised a huge arms and swung at me, so i ducked, rolling off to one side.

Before it could give chase to Maya, I peppered it with a shotgun blast while Doc kept it from putting that shield back up with another 'soul bullet'.
"Time to cheat," I muttered and used my own abilities and shot the thing over fifty times with the same bullets, all in the space of a single second.
Unfortunately this was one tough bastard of a demon, and even after all we'd inflicted upon it, it still wasn't going down!

I came up from my roll and immediately snapped kicked he bastard in his side- which he barely felt.
"Crap." I murmured. So i stuck the katana through him- THAT he felt.

"Ya know," I said. "There's something I've always wanted to try," I brought my Desert Eagle to my Soul Saber and focused. I miled as the two weapons merged into one (think gunblade from FF8).
"Cool," I said, moving forward. As I slashed the thing, i pulled the trigger still on the hilt of the weapon, releasing a tremendous explosion the shook the thing to it's knees. "I love being me."

I sliced the demon right through, and its body reformed behind the blade. I scowled,
"That is definitely not fair." I declared. Then a nasty smile spread on my lips, and the sword began to glow with brilliant light, from which the demon backed up slightly, "Shadow demon- instant sunlight in a sword." I said happily, and once again stabbed, producing a howl from the demon.

"Uh, Maya?" I called, maybe too late, "The stronger the light, the deeper the shadows. Using magical light sources may only make it stronger!"
However, it did seem hurt by the combination at least of Maya lighting up her sword. I wasn't going to test either of our theories though, at the moment.
Charging a couple exploding time bubbles, I waited for Doc to blast the thing's shield apart one more time before casting them, and they did cause some damage, scattering its essence long enough for Maya and the others to land quite a few more hits, which did cause damage, but still not enough.
"Gods, what does it take to KILL this thing!" I shouted at the heavens, not expecting any answer.

"I say go for it." I replied, "Super size sun spell coming up. And Josh- when it was in our heads, light dispells it- shadow forms on the opposite side to the light, right? So shadows shrink away from light. Ready Nicki?"

I raised my hands and focused on the shadow before pulling my arms back and pushing my hands out, palms facing him. The shadow gave a shriek and broke like a mirror, shards or wisps flying out across the room

Everybody shielded their eyes as something like a supernova errupted in my hands. The brilliant white light filled every corner of the room, the intensity of it refecting off evry surface and into every shadowy nook, dispelling every hint of darkness. The pieces of the shadow demon shrivelled, as if trying to escape the light, and when i felt the evil of his presence fade, i closed my hands around the source of the light, and the spell ended.

Unfortunately, Maya had put more power in the spell than she had realized as the sphere of pure light did not shrink back in on itself, but continued to grow outwards, beyond the bar, beyone the street, beyond the block until the whole city was lit up, no trace of darkness above the surface for another five minutes.
After those five minutes, of complaining, begging and shouting at Maya for her miscalculation, when light returned to normal, it was discovered that whatever had been happening outside had also been banished with it's demon shadow master.
