I believed him...I couldn't help it. 'Don't be stupid' my brain was yelling. 'He can't do anything about it. He'll be like all the others.' My body wasn't listening though. I pressed close to him, feeling the comforting rhythm of his beating heart and breathed out slowly.
"Why is she doing it?" I asked Maya. "I mean why Doc? I know he's gorgeous and all but out of all the guys in L.A. why my guy?" Both of them understood what I meant and fortunately neither chose to take it in the wrong way.
"She's lonely." Maya said by way of explaination.
"Boo-bleeding-hoo" I countered. "We've all been lonely at some time, hell most of us had no one before we came here but we didn't try and steal other people's guys...kill 'em maybe" I added as a half serious afterthought.

"I get the feeling it runs way deeper than that... i tried to tell her pretty much what you just said- she told me to fuck off. I think it's Doc simply cos he was the first guy she found..." I sighed, "It's major loneliness... i guess we'll just have to try to show her she's not alone in it." I looked around, just chcking she really was gone, "Look... i'm kinda beat. i think im gonna head home, start on the research tomorrow- if you guys come by my place, i'll show you what i got? Cool?"

(((Basically, Charlotte and Doc have finally gotten over their own fears and gotten together, only to have a nwe witch, Karen, decide she sould have Doc. And if you really want to walk in, well, it's an option. I think we're pretty much done though.)))

(((Ok, this REALLY sucks, I'm NOT staying under the control of some all-powerful slayer wannabe!!! I'm outta here! It's time for me to be all-powerful...)))
Karen's anger had distracted her from keeping me under her command.
'That is it girl!' I thought, when I regained my sences, 'You are going to pay!'
(Your not the only one who can control minds!!! It's my turn to control YOU! I don't care what you say about your dumb necklace!)
I floated over quickly to her, my hand laced with green mist as I pushed it over her nose and mouth, and ripped the necklace off her neck and onto the floor (if that is possible to do... if not, I simply detatched it).
"YOU'RE MINE!" I said to her. Her eyes flashed green.
Karen stood there, empty minded as I examined the necklace on the floor...
"Time to use these powers on Doc, what do you say?" I asked her.
"Let's go!" She replied.
"First, you are to tell me EXACTLY how this works... over a drink..." I commanded, a bottle of green liquid and a glass appeared in my hand.
I filled the glass, and gave it to her. "Drink up!" I said.
Her eyes flashed green as she finished the entire glass, then the entire bottle. Enough magic to keep er COMPLETELY under my control for DAYS!

"Well, well, well..." Toraan seemingly appeared out of nowhere, behind Maya, making her jump a little.
"Could you lay off with the appearing behind me thing?" She asked.
"Doesn't hurt to have a little fun!" He replied, "So, this new girl, Karen, has a necklace, right?"
"Yes, you'd better watch out, it's effects would be something you'd better watch out for!" She told him.
"Well, that's where you're wrong, for I have no gender." He said, "but what I'm more interested in is your plans with the stones..."

(((One last bloody warning. You are not allowed to kill members without their permission. You are not a member. And a point, What anger? I was making plans. And in case you haven't noticed I have posted something which occurs 3 days after this and in those three days I am my own mistress. And the all-powerful thing- bad idea. People on this site don't like that. So watch out Tyriel.)))
By taking the necklace off me Tyriel had done the worse thing possible. It had a diactivater spell woven within it meaning that all spells active on my person would stop exactly five minutes after removal. So his mind control became null and void. I smiled sweetly.
"This is how the necklace works. I put it on," I said, fastening the catch. "And I say the activation spell. Do you want to know it?"Tyriel nodded.
"Tell me." So I said the spell. Tyriel cried out in anger but the cry was cut short as the spell took effect. I smiled again.
"Come on Tyriel, why don't we find somewhere more...private."

I followed, tingling all over. I couldn't believe it was happening. I stopped for a moment, holding Doc's hand so that he stopped too.
"What?" He asked turning back to face me.
"Is this real?" I asked. He didn't reply but kissed me. It was gentle but passrionate, rough yet sensitive...everything rolled into one. "So...real then." I said breathlessly.
"Now how about that alone time?" Doc asked and we began waslking again.

"Mystical stones." I replied, "Charms- I think i can make a pendant to counteract any that karen might make to ensnare Doc. Pretty simple really... or the theory is at least."

"I've...never actually done it before, but i have read how to, and i have the stones already."

"Not long after i hit LA, I found an old building," I explained. "It's not slated for demolition or anything. It just stands there. I've been thinking of buying it, but that's not why I want you to see it. The view from the roof...is something else. Of course," I added, taking a sideways glance at her. "I think I can match it."

I think I blushed the entire journey, praising the heavens for making it dark so no one could see (one no one only on my mind.) When we reached the buildin Doc lead me inside and up the stairs. With my eyes closed I followed his hands guiding me onto the roof and when he told me to I opened them...and gasped. We were out of the city centre so the air was clearer, the sky was midnight blue and the entire heavens seemed to stretch above us. We were standing Titanic style by the railings, Doc was holding onto me so I couldn't fall as I leaned over.
The starlight above was almost matched by the lights of the city below. There was something magical about both of them, seeing them separately was awe inspiring but together...it was just incredible and I told Doc so.
"How long can we stay here?" I whispered, somehow feeling that loud voices were inappropriate.
"As long as you like." He whispered back and retrieved two blankets. We lay down on one and were covered by the other, rolling close so that we were both fully covered. I didn't know where to look. Upwards was the majesty of the universe laid out in full glory but beside me was a man who loved me, someone I was learning to love and trust and for whom I would release my past. I moved in closer, removing the tiny distance that had separated us before and kissed Doc, just because I wanted to, because I could and I swore no evil witch would steal him from me.

(((ok, now here's were I get pissed off... when people just ASSUME things...
Firstly: I didn't kill you
Secondly: I wouldn't have let you put the lecklace back on, I would have made sure that you wouldn't be able to touch it
Thirdly: Even if you DID manage to grab it and put it on, I wouldn't have been stupid enough to tell you to say the activation spell!
So let's change this, hey?)))
