I'll give you a clue- it wasn't by hurting and bewitching everyone i met!" tyriel had turned back to me, angry that he could not get through. He swung at me, but i dodged, the building power within me augmenting my speed. "karen, listen...[another dodge] to...[and another].. me! If your tired of being alone ... then call the bastard off! [roll] and deal with it!"

Never been alone? The girl had no idea who I was or what my life had been like- sure i didn't know much about her either, but the difference was- i was willing to find out.

I have lost too many people to stand by and let you take another! I dont know what your deal is- granted i could find out pretty easy, but im not about invvading peoples minds anymore. Still- If you dont wanna be alone, you dont have to be- and i promise you that the goodguys are a whole lot more friendly than the bitch you're heading off to- do you really wanna be a vamp? Cos siring seems to be a hobby of hers."

As Tyriel cried
"Karen!" And ran off after her, i headed back into the spot to find Doc and Charlie. After making my way through the smoky wreck of the bar, i found them in the alley out back, tending to eachother's wounds.
"You guys ok?" I asked.
Doc nodded,
"A few scratches... was that...?"
"tyriel, again." I said, "But he's not the one i'm worried about."

The music had slowed, everywhere people were swaying to it, lost in their own little worlds and I was no exception so when it happened…well I hadn’t been prepared for it. There was the most incredible bang and green mist started spreading everywhere. Around us people began screaming and running for the exits, knocking over anything in our paths. Doc and I stood still, a tiny island of calm in a sea of panic. He had his arms wrapped around m, symbolically protecting me from the crush.
“Tyrial” He muttered and I looked at him in confusion. “Remember the night you came here? The bartender got possessed?” I nodded remembering Maya punching his lights out. “Yeah well that was Tyrial’s handiwork. This reeks of him too.”<br>“So do we do kill the dude?” I asked resigned to the fact that if we were going to try and make something happen interruptions like this would be part of the course.
“First” Doc coughed. “We get out of here.” I looked around and realised he was right. The green mist was growing thicker, choking us so we dropped low and began crawling towards an exit. My lungs were bursting as I tried to stop myself breathing in and my eyes were stinging from the gas touching the moist surface. ‘oxidising agent’ I thought to myself then shook my head at the stupidity of recalling chemistry when in this sort of situation. It was tough going. I could barely see anything except Doc’s shadow crawling along just in front of m. All I could do was follow it but I was growing light headed. Just as I was prepared to give up, to just sit there and breath in the odorous fumes I heard Doc’s voice in my head, talking to me, encouraging me to keep going. I did and suddenly we were at a doorway. Cool air hit my face and I gulped at it. Doc helped me outside and we both collapsed on the ground holding each other tight.
After a few minutes I could both breathe and see again and I quickly took in the fact that neither of us were seriously hurt. I could feel a trickle of blood down my forehead and began to clean one off Doc's mouth when Maya showed up. She quickly confirmed Doc's suspicions about Tyrial but then proceded to relate the events we had missed out on with the mysterious girl we had met earlier. When she got to her threats about killing me Doc's arms tightened around me and despite the situation I felt kind of warm and tingly inside.
"Don't worry Maya. I can look after myself, we all can. We'll sort it out." Maya didn't look so convinced.
"Well the thing is..."She began

"I think she's a pretty powerful witch... and she has this necklace... its a type of magic i havent used very much... gems, potions... bloody hell she might even have singing crystals in there..."
"What does it do?" Charlie cut me off.
"It..." i looked at Doc, "It makes any guy who looks at her while she's wearing it... fall in love with her."
"What!?" Charlie exclaimed angrily.
"It wasn't activated before, but it is now- she has Tyriel acting as he lap dog... this could get messy."

"She can't do that!" I yelled getting up quickly. "She can't."
"Hey, calm down Charlie." Doc said soothingly. "I'm not about to fall in love with aomeone else." I didn't even pause to register the cuteness of what he just said. i shook my head.
"I've heard of those things Doc. idon't think you get much of a choice in the matter and she already wants you, she already fooled you once."

"You'd better find it soon. I...we...only just..." I stopped as Doc stood up and put his hands either side of my face and forcing me to look him straight in the eye.
"It's Maya Charlie. She'll find something." I nodded, unsure whether I actually believed it but I allowed myself to lay my head of his shoulder whilst he began to talk plans with Maya.
