(((Okay, I know I should probably wait until 'Hell to Pay' is done, but this is something that's been killing me for a while and needs to be written.)))
I walked into the spot with only one thing on my mind.
To have a good time.
After everything that's happenened recently, i just needed to get out, no demon hunting, and just blow off some steam.
After one beer, I headed out to the dance floor, making my way past teh clumps of girls. There was only one girl I really wanted, but she was keeping her distance to protect both of us. Strange how true those words I'd said on that first night we'd met were true.
Charlotte and I really are a lot alike.
The music washed over me, and i lost myself in its beat. I forgot about Apocalypses and demons and just let myself go. So when the girl bumped into me, I didn't really register who it was. Neither'd she, i don't think. We just followed the music and did what our bodies were telling us to do.
Dance.
(((Quite obviously, the girl's supposed to be charlotte, but if she has any other idea's for this, i'll go along with them."

(((Ah, the perfect introduction)))
I swayed with the music, losing mysef in it, letting it control me. My body mirrored his movements, dancing, dancing. My hands snaked closer to him, finally making the contact we'd been antisipating. He stiffened slightly but then relaxed. I smiled.
Maybe this was it.

I walked into the spot light hearted and feeling brave. I was going to do it, I was going to talk to him, I really was. I was still giving myself this mental pep talk when I saw him on the dance floor. I smiled but it faded quickly as my eyes widened and my heart sped up. He was already dancing, with someone else and not an unattractive someone else. I was frozen for a moment then, like I had so many times, I turned to leave. I pushed through the crowd of people, not caring that I was shoving rather hard, until I reached the bar. I didn't order a drink but sat there glancing over to where I had seen Doc and his dancing partner, though I could no longer see them.

"Hey Charlie girl." I said brightly, shoving my way through to the bar from the entrance. "Wha's up?" She didn't seem to have seen or heard me. "Charlie?" Still nothing. I followed her gaze to the dance floor, searching for what might have her so frozen... and then i saw him. Oh goddess. Reaching out with my mind, i knew Doc wasn't even aware of who he was dancing with- he didn't care. The only thing on his mind was Charlotte. "Charlie." I said again, and rolled my eyes. I waved a hand infront her face, and she jolted back to the real world. "Maya." She gasped. "Hey- you ok?" "Fine." She answered far too quickly. "Y'know... i said... he's not really dancing with her." "What?" She replied, knowing exactly what i was referring to, but clearly thinking i was mad. "As far as his mind is concerned, he's dancing with you." I told her shortly.
((sorry, if thats interferring too much it can be changed.))

I glanced quickly over to the bar area. Some red head was staring straight at us and some blonde was trying to talk to her without much luck. I smiled to myself. Probably an ex-girlfriend. Or at least she would be by the time I'd finished with this guy. Want. Take. Have.

The girl with Doc looked over at us, and i frowned. There was something in her eyes.... something i had seen far too often. "Oh bugger." I said before i even realised it was out loud. Where had i seen it before? My dear old mentor of course. I repeat. Oh BUGGER.

I smiled as the blonde's eyes widened. She obviously had an inkling of what I might do, but she had no idea of how far I could go. And I felt I could go even father for this guy. I felt a buzz when I touched him, and a longing I'd never felt before. I couldn't wait to make him mine forever.

Ok, time to break this up. I decided. "Charlie- go." I ordered. "W-what?" She gasped. "Go. Dance. Now. Doc." I rapped out.

Damn. The redhead was closing in fast. But I still had one ace up my sleeve. Something that would hopefully knock Red out for the count guywise for a while. Reaching up I swiftly captured his lips. It was quick, but it was enough. Red reeled back and the look on her face would make anyone think she'd been hit by an A-bomb. I smiled.
(((No more till Doc and Charlotte are here)))

Oh g-d, oh g-d oh g-d. I couldn’t deal with that I just couldn’t. Whatever Maya had said Doc seemed perfectly happy locking lips with this strange girl. The worst of it was that I had no right to tell him not to. We weren’t together, we hadn’t done anything of significance, I had no claim over him whatsoever apart from the powerful ache in my chest that was rising to constrict my throat and to flood my eyes. I turned back to look at Maya who was looking almost as shell shocked as I felt. I started working my way through the crowd to get back to her completely ignoring a fairly good looking guy who tried to rub up against me. A couple of metres further on I changed my mind, perhaps this was exactly what I needed. If Doc could forget all about me so quickly, if he could enjoy himself then I wasn’t going to kill myself by agonizing over him. I turned back and grabbed the guy by his shirt. He looked surprised but not unhappy when I pulled him into the middle of the dance floor and began to dance with him, sliding up close then pulling back.
Close to he wasn’t as good looking, in fact he made me positively cringe but he knew what he wanted and I figured giving it to him might help me forget what I wanted and what was going on a few metres away. The music was pulsing and it was easy to get lost in the beat, my partner knew how to move and I felt his hands slide roughly around my torso as we danced. Then his hands started to wander too far and my brain went into panic mode. Suddenly it didn’t matter that I had black belts in many martial arts, it was irrelevant that I could kick the asses of many species of demon and the fact that I was probably one of the most efficient human fighters after slayers didn’t matter a bit. I tried to wriggle away, I could smell the stench of alcohol as the guy leaned in close, but I couldn’t. “No.“ I panted. “No. Stop.“ But he either couldn’t hear me or ignored me. My brain kept throwing flashback pictures at me complete with surround sound and 3D vision. My breathing grew fast and shallow and I did the only thing I could think of to make this turn out differently…I yelled for help though I was sure no one could hear me over the thumping music. “Doc.” I screamed. “Maya. Please, somebody.”

As the girl kissed Doc, and Charlie grabbed the nearest guy, i turned to the bar and began whacking my forehead against the wood. Bloody. Stupid. People. I thought. The bar tender, who knew me a little, didn't manage to stop my little battle between the bar and my forehead- what did was a scream that though it was muffled in reality, sounded like a foghorn in my mind. Charlie. I spun back, searching the crowd quickly. There she was, the guy grabbing at her as she wriggled, suddenly seeming much more vulnerable than usual. I set off in their direction, not even checking to see what Doc was doing...

I thought it was Charlotte. Honest I did. I even murmured her name when we broke off. My dance partner wasn't to pleased with that, i could tell.
"Wha-?" I began, then I realised why i'd thought it was her. I could feel her, through her Sabre. Close...
And in trouble.
"I have to go," I said. I beant low and kissed her hand politely. "Thankyou for the dance, milady. It was exactly what I needed," not a total lie, I thought as I moved off quickly. It made me realise I had to sort things out. I had t be sure whether Charlotte and me could ever work before I could even think about moving on, even if teh pysical attraction between me and this girl had gone through the roof, that's all it was.
Physical. I'd been there before. Twice. It hadn't worked out to good.

I was really getting scared now. I struggled and fought but I had no chance of getting free. I carried on calling for Doc and Maya who had seemed to disappear from sight.
