I looked around. "Where did she go?" I asked myself. Then I saw Pepper walking over from where Jessy was standing. I grinned. "I was wondering where you had gone."

I looked over at Doc. "Maybe we should move," I told Chime.

"Come on," I moved to a table near the tree. "So, where should I begin? Um, How about straight to the point? I love you."

In the first happy, relaxed mood i'd been in in a while, my senses were pretty relaxed and open, and as josh and i danced across the floor, i suddenly faultered in the middle of a spin, Josh catching me clumsily as i gaped over at Jessy.

(((Chime))) "Well, I'm sorry you feel that way" I said coldly, "Because I most definately don't." I felt guilty to see Jessy looking so sad, but I knew what I said was true, I just didn't feel the same way and never would.

I wanted to die. Really. I wanted to disappear, for everyone to forget I'd ever existed. But that didn't happen. All I could do was stand up, say brightly, "that was a nice chat," and walk out of the Spot. And then run. Run as far as I could.

(((Chime)))
I looked as everyone stared at the swinging door. "Merry Christmas" I muttered as I headed for the cheese bites.

I was still running, my eyes now wet, obscuring my vision when the darkness came. Next thing I knew I was lying on the road, with people standing around me.
"She went so far-" "I didn't see, she came out of nowhere-" "The ambulance is coming-"
"What's going on?" Everything hushed as I spoke up. An old lady smiled sadly at me.
"You got hit dear, by a van. You seemed to get catapulted by it." I tried to sit up and found I could. I was sore all over, very sore and my left wrist was sprained. Thank God for shifter reflexes. Without listening to anything else I got up and walked away. I'd had worse injuries today.

I Went after Jessy, worried. After all the trouble she'd gone through, why take off like that? What had Chime said?
I came around the corner and saw a crowd of people in the middel of the road. In the distance i coudl hear and ambulence approaching. "Oh God, no," I breathed, charging through crowd. "'Scuse me, pardon me. Excuse me. Please, let me through. Just get out of the damn Way!" I managed to get through and saw the one thing I'd hoped I wouldn't see. "Oh God. Jessy? "Are you alright?"
"You know her, pal?" One of the people asked as I knelt next to her.
"I'm her father," true enough. "You okay, Kiddo?"

(((Thought I'd got up already but hey! ;D)))
I began to cry. I couldn't stop, I just clung to Doc and cried and cried.

When Jessy left, i kinda wanted to follow, but Josh was still holding me, not knowing why she'd run... but a moment later i found myself pushing him away frantically. I didnt know why, but i was bolting for the door, down the street, round the corner... there was a crowd of people- oh goddess no... I pushed through, people seeming to be shoved aside before i touched them, and i found Doc kneeling on the ground, a ruffled Jessy clinging to him, "Jessy?" I gasped. I fell to my knees too, hugging her aswell.

I sniffed. "I've ruined it. Christmas, the party, everything. I've ruined it." I let out another sob. "I wanna go home." It was the stupidest thing I could say. I was home. But now, home didn't seem to be here.

"You've not ruined anything, sweetie." I said, stroking her hair. I glanced up at Doc and he nodded, scooping Jessy up in his arms. "Hey wait, the ambulance is coming..." Someone said, but we ignored them , making our way out of the circle.

I was reduced to whimpering by now. I didn't know where they were taking me but I didn't want to go. I wanted to go home. Home.
