"How good are you with those things?" I asked sereiously from behind him. He wants in, I'm not saying no. I want to know what kind of skills the boys got. I'm not dumping him in over his head with no skills to protect himself.

"I can shoot." I said. "There's a problem though, I don't have an unlimited supply of ammo. And you don't spend mot of your life in an orphanage without learning to fight."

"What kind of ammo do you need?" I asked with a grin. "Trust me, I could arm you with enough guns and ammo to fight a war by yourself. What I want to know is, are you any good? Can you hit the broud side of the barn? Can you hit other guys iwth the broud side of barn? When it come down to it, can you pull the trigger?" I drew to my full height, looking at the boy with cold eyes. "Are you afraid of death? Because if you are, homme, don' bot'a showin'. 'Cause we need guy wit' balls, not little boys lookin' to be tough."

I raised my eyebrows at Doc. "You wanna know if I can shoot? Meet me at that Dojo place of yours tomorrow morning and I'll give you a lesson in shooting. And Death? I face things worse than death everyday."

My answer was a laugh that frightened tigers and froze the blood in the veins of the toughest of men.
"Worse dan death, you say?" I said, my voice heavily laden with a Cajun accent. "Impossible, mon ami. You've yet to face me. I'll see you tomorrow," with that I headed to the bar. This'll be fun.

I shrugged. I wasn't scared of a group of demons. I wasn't sure why I had volunteered to help.

"Doc!" I punched his arm. "Trust you to terrorise the new guy."

I chuckled as i vaguely heard the conversation, but largely ignored it. I leant my head against Josh's shoulder as we slowly rotated to the soft romantic music. As much as i love to dream that this would last, i had a horrid feeling that the next week or two might change everything. I lifted my head, looking up into Josh's eyes, "I love you." I whispered. "I love you too." He replied, kissing me softly. Both of us had a sadness, a fear, in our eyes... But moments later, the song changed to an up-beat salsa number i grinned at him, and his hands found mine. He swung me out, and the real dancing began. ((sorry, salsa bar + lesson + dirtydancing 1and 2 =obessessing!!))

"Not terrorizing," I said. "Just testing the tires. Making sure he's got the guts to back me up when the chips were down."

"You never did that to me," I said knowingly. "Is this a guy thing?"

I chugged a mouthful of beer. The only reason I didn't test Jessy was because I got to see what she was made of not long after we met with that Battle Royale.
This time, however, we had worning. I had family involved and I wanted to make sure this kid could handle the pressure. I took another mouthful of beer. So sue me, I'm paranoid when it comes to family.
