Note: Not entirely convinced I'm happy with Belial's story yet, may be subject to change and made a bit more... Betterer.

Personality: Belial learnt a long time ago that being the cruel and uncaring creature of evil really isn't the way to go when one has an agenda to push. It just doesn't work. Having been around people longer than most, Belial has learnt to hide his irritation at his short-lived counterparts in order to project a friendly atmosphere. However, not all are fooled by his charade and see through what he really is.
Underneath, Belial doesn't care. The people around him and their thoughts, feelings and all that other rubbish, is all meaningless to him. All that is important is the continuation of the one true goal. True immortality, not the farce that Belial is stuck relying on at the moment.
Fears:
Dying - He's done it plenty of times, but each time there has always been a reason and a way to get back. The cold, everlasting sleep of being truly dead is something that Belial has been running from for a very long time.
Lack of Control - Belial is a control freak, no other way around it. He gets nervous when he doesn't feel that things are going the way he wants them to go, and when he gets nervous he gets angry with the world around him, usually with bad consequences.
Hopes:
Immortality - The ultimate goal of any necromancer, this is a desire that Belial strives for in every action, his eyes are very firmly on the prize.
Fulfilment of his list - Belial holds grudges for a very long time, these are grudges that are augmented by his ability to pull the people he feels have slighted him from the depths of hell itself back to the living so he may enjoy revenge properly.
A long time ago he realised the potential of keeping such a list, there are a few that seem to have hidden themselves too well inside death for him to reach. Belial is patient, he is willing to wait until he finds these hated spirits and they will suffer all the more for the waiting.
Likes:
Neatness and Order - Being a cruel and uncaring monster is all well and good, but there needs to be a certain style about it. Belial has been told by medical practitioners down the ages that he has obsessive tendencies towards tidiness, his place of living is in alphabetical order and there is nothing that is out of place.
Graveyards - Being a necromancer involves spending a lot of time hanging out in graveyards, or other places where the tools of ones trade can be found. Belial just enjoys his work.
Cats - Belial can't explain this, he remembers in some of his lives there have been times when cats have been worshiped. He does not worship cats, he does not worship anything. Still, he has often gone out of his way to acquire a pet cat in his lives, if only for someone to talk to.
Dislikes:
Bright Lights - It's all about the atmosphere, the House Of The Dead movie has already shown us that undead creatures and rave parties just don't go together.
Surprises - as stated above, neatness and order are things that Belial values highly. Surprises have no place in a perfectly ordered world.
Heroism/Selflessness - Belial understands very well that the only thing that matters in existence is getting oneself ahead, even if that involves stepping on others. This is a lesson that not everyone understands and there is always someone who wants to do something stupid and play the hero to save everyone else. Belial believes that the best thing that can come out of such an action is that someone dies in a horrific way. It is a concept he has come to understand is known as "Darwinism"
History:
Belial was first born many centuries ago, an unwanted child of unloving parents, his very name means "Useless". From a young age he could feel the power that rested inside him, his parents knew it too and feared him, they spat words of hatred at him and called him demon, one day they finally were brave enough to get rid of him. As a child of 7 years old, Belial was cast out from his home and left to wander the desert.
Hours later he submitted to the heat and sand, he hallucinated and had visions of great beasts that ruled the skies and the land. As his body slowly died from the harsh environment he dreamed of himself walking in a great hall made of stone, in that hall a man with eyes of the blackest night walked with him.
This night eyed man explained many things to Belial as he lay dying in the sun, in later lives he would become Belial's mentor in the arts of necromancy but for now he told Belial the one thing needed to keep him from alive. A spell that removed the spirit from a body and to place it in a willing receptacle. With his dying breath, Belial cast the spell "Per corpus alterius resurgam."
Belial was born again, a small child again to different parents in a different place, he was given a different name. As he grew, the night eyed man appeared in his dreams, teaching Anthony ways to use death to achieve his ends, all the while promising revenge against his first parents, the ones who had abandoned him.
And so the cycle has continued, in each life Belial is born again, growing until old enough to leave the family that have nurtured him and retake his original name. Then he continues on, planning revenge and searching for a way to stop the unnecessary rebirths, so much time is wasted growing up...
