"You know, I don't think it's the actions that you need to defend. From what I can gather she knew what would end up happening with her fledge. Yeah, I know about that. I also know she's apparently done with you." His reaction would be interesting to say the least. "And she's been killing anything that enters the graveyard that she doesn't like. Has the weaker demons and vamps scared but also she's going to start attracting the stronger ones but apparently she's itching for a fight."

"Right, cause she's serious about killing you." I rolled my eyes. Men. "Her type... they tend to be a little soft on those they care for. She might kick your ass but I really don't think she'd kill you. Cause if she had that inclination she wouldn't have chosen you over her ex/fledge/whatever they were. I think that speaks volumes."

"So you don't know about her 'darker half' locked within her," he said. "That part of her was trying to gain control and side with Sam, basically, it represents her vampire urgings. Now, i forced her to choose and her 'Slayer side' shoce to kill Sam. Her 'Vampire side' is currently pissed beyond measure and me showing up on her territory would probably rrile her up."

"That means she's hurting; Angry, upset, sad. Plus woman don't like to be told to choose... I can't believe I'm going to defend a vampire but... what have you done? Sure she's done a lot of very stupid things but she honestly seems to want to help and protect you. Instead of continuing whatever relationship you had before Raven she went after him. Took down one of the biggest threats to the paranormal world for you and then chose you over her fledge. I'm pretty sure you didn't force her to do the former but what have you done in return?"

The silence may as well have been an explosion, it was so deafening. Doc clenched his fists, turning away from her. "And what the hell am I supposed to do?" He asked. "I asked her NOT to get involved in Raven. And if i'd taken out Sam i WOULD have been dead! Me and M..." his mouth clamped shut. "She's just so damn... stubborn and independant! She has to do everything herself! So tell me, please, oh wise and all knowing bartender: what the hell was i supposed to do?"

"Well if she thought there wasn't a chance with you she wouldn't have chosen you over her fledge. I can say that for sure. Think of Raven as a gift. An... investment. Then her fledge was a continuation of that investment. You could have rejected her completely, had you done so she wouldn't have come back after the Raven thing. When you threatened to stake her did you mean it after Raven?" Of course I wasn't sure if thats what had transpired but Matt said when she had come to the club right after she wasn't herself which made more sense now, but he figured that was what had happened.

"No, really?" he said sarcastically. "I can admit to that. I've screwed her over moere than once, avoided her feelings because I'm scared of them, threatened to kill her and forced her to chose between me and an ex. What reason would she possibly have to just kill me on side and end it all there?" Again, heavy sarcasm. He knew where he'd screwed up and how badly. It was time to let her go ad more on with ehr life. End of story.
