Oh, this was just getting worse by the moment. Time to try save both of them.
"Yeah, wel, considering she threw me to a twisted, psychotic power monger so she could get a shot at him, then let him shoot me, i think there's probably a lot of people that could say they're closer to her than i am," he said. "I just tagged along tonight cause she said there was a chance of a decent scrap," he rolled the shoulder near the old gunshot wound. "Think the arm works a lot better than it did."

"Now, I believe she did that but I don't think it's likely you'd be stupid enough to go on a hunt into a nest of vampires with another vampire."

"Debatable," Doc said Off-handedly. "I'd almost bet she was hoping I'd get eaten. I'm terribly annoying," he gave one of his smartass grins. "Life's more fun when people are debating whether or not it's worth the man hunt to just shut you up, know what I'm saying?" he hesitated, looking between the two. "Hm, maybe not. Rogue doesn't have much of a sense of humour and you ARE a Slayer-vampire, so it might just be your type."

How to get out of this without either one of them getting killed or injured was going to be interesting. Cause if she made any move towards Doc she'd be dust and if Doc made any move for Sam, he'd be dead in an instant as well. Thankfully Doc made no such movement and Sam being so close to Doc made me keeping control much easier.
Making a decision I grabbed Sam and pulled her back against me, my voice getting dangerously low. "You well not hunt in my city again. Got it?" She grinned but nodded. We both knew she was going to hunt again here. I couldn't bring myself to stake her. If I tried than she would try and take control, and with the anger she would have just might succeed. Than she'd kill Doc. Forget Maya at that point.
Letting Sam go I got between Doc and her, not wanting to open up any opportunities for things to go differently.

"So, Sam, right?" Doc said. "Guess, I'll probably see you around, since you and I both know you won't be leaving anytime soon," he wasn't that dumb. Mental note: get bigger squirt gun.

I glared back at Doc. Was he trying to get himself killed?
"You can count on it," she smiled showing her fangs. For a moment she looked like she was about to move but decided against whatever she had begun to cook up in her head and instead left out the kitchen door.
"You really want to get killed don't you?"

"Nah," he said with a shrug. "Just testing the waters. So, I'm going to take a wild stab and say you turned her?" A guess, probably a good one. This was just what he needed. Going to need to wan Maya about this one.

"Sorta, the 'voice' me." Referring to the other me inside my head. "I hadn't wanted to but she was in control at the time so I suppose yes. She's the only person she actually felt sorry for."
"Was it that obvious?" Well, I knew it was. I had no problems killing vampires. It was fun. Easy, but provided entertainment. The fact that I hadn't wanted to kill her only made it more obvious. Seemed a little overboard to use this as a 'guess what I'm in town' thing.

"Thank you for staying calm." I replied looking at him, before down to the nail wounds in my hand. Go figure. Wouldn't get so much as a scratch in a 11 vamp brawl but the most damage I received was by my own hand. Literally.

"They were very close. Easy to say that she was the only person that my 'voice' cares about. As a slayer she was able to get my vampire self to pity her. Evil and still was willing to give up everything for a slayer. Damnit my life is fucked."

"I..." I paused, unsure of so many things. "I don't know if you being involved at all is a good idea."
Was it a cop out? Was it to keep him safe? Was it because I knew in the end he wouldn't be able to accept what I had done to protect him? It was easier to push him away for so many reasons.
I had gone to him for help and here he was willing and I wasn't sure if I wanted him near at all.

"Sucks ass on my account, but i don't think we have much of a choice on that. Sam brings out Darth Rogue, I'm boned. Sam can't do it, she'll probably come after me anyway since she saw me with you, and thus I'm boned. Either way, I'm boned."
