"A lead," he said. "That was it basically. Watcher office with files I needed," he gave a low chuckle. "Irony abounds, Maya helped me break in with none of us realising the one I was looking for was there with me all along."

"I never wanted to become a vampire." It was random I knew but it was the only thing in my mind. "The vampire who turned me did it revenge for me staking his sire." Chuckling more to myself than anything else I still stared at the stars above. "I then staked him when I woke up, and set the nearest town a blaze. My first night as a vampire and the streets ran with blood as buildings and bodies turned to ashes." Pausing I willed myself to continue. "That was before I became like this. When I did become like this I stood outside until dawn, waiting for the sun to burn me alive but could never bring myself to let myself die. I always felt guilty for that. That I was and can be such a terrible force and yet I have no strength to stop myself."

"Logically I should die. I've done enough horrible things besides being what I am. Which is why I've accepted that when my time comes it comes. I... don't like feeling powerless even to my own self and don't get me wrong. I don't want to die. I like being alive but I can't help but feel as if I don't belong here."

"Well, if it helpsm," he said quietly. "I do. think you belong here. I mean, if a vampire with a soul can get away with existing for as long as he did and helping the innocent and whatever... I think a Slayer vampire should be accepted."
