((After It's not rabies!))
I had spent the next morning after my transformation eating as much food as I could and searching google for something that could help. Google had never let me down before. After a couple hours of searching, I found ingredients to make a drink that was supposed to stop the transformation. I had never heard of some of them. I googled them too, and came up with a list of magic shops from yahoo answers. There was one near the area, it only had one review though. I decided to take my chances. I walked into the magic shop and stood in the doorway, not sure where I was supposed to start. The most fasinating objects littered the shelves. The store was quiet, but there was an odd buzzing sensation. I completely felt like I didn't belong here. A jar of red slimy things caught my eye, and I moved toward it trying to figure out what it was.

The moment the girl walked in I could tell two things: Firstly, she was very uncomfortable in here... she was clearly new to the supernatural world. Secondly, she was terrified about something, and trying very very hard to control it. There was something about her that made me very curious as to what it was that scared her.
I didn't think she had seen me yet, as I was sat at the table with books piled around me, catching up on some of the stock I had bought in. As she headed toward a Jar on one of the shelves, I made my presence known, "Giant Red Leeches." I said, "Great for warts but not really worth the grossness."

I jumped as I heard a voice coming from further into the store. I looked around wildly, glad to see the blond. She seemed to work here, and she looked normal, and very pretty. I was almost half expecting something from the wizard of Oz, with green skin, or maybe even something with horns growing in odd places. "Ew...." I looked back at the jar, and backed away. I almost imagined them sliding over someone's body. "Isn't it easier to just freeze them?" I hadn't meant for the question to be answered, and I pulled out a folded piece of paper from my pocket. It had a list of all the stuff I supposedly "Maybe you could help me, ma'am." I went to give her the list. "I was told that this stuff might be able to help me..." An odd thought occurred to me. How would the shop keeper react if she found out I was a werewolf?

I smirked at her reaction, but it was surprisingly lucid... I considered that I might quite like this girl given the chance. One eyebrow went up when she called me 'ma'am', but I took the list she offered me... and the other eyebrow followed the first. I had seen such a list before. Sorrow and pity washed over me as all my initial questions were answered. I sighed, "I have all these things.... but they wont help you. I'm sorry... I really am... but there is no cure for lycanism." She looked at me blankly. "For being a werewolf." I clarified.

I was confused for a moment, and I guess my face showed it. When she explained, I had felt like a balloon that had been poked with a pin. All the hope rushed out of me in a sigh. "Are you sure?" Well this blows I thought to myself. I was searching all morning to find something that didn't exist, and I don't think I got much sleep last night. All I could remember was the pain of transforming. I looked down at the ground frustrated. I didn't think I could handle being a werewolf. Life was already hard before the werewolves and the vampires. "That's what everyone else said, but I really wanted to make sure... That's when I found this." I pointed to the list in her hands.

"I'm sorry." I said. I truly was. "This potion has been flying around for years... but if anything I reckon it seems to do the opposite... I met a werewolf who insisted on trying this 'cure' once..." I paused, did she want to hear this?? I sighed, shaking my head, "Seemed to me as though it weakened the human side of him rather than the wolf. My theory is that this recipe was spread by wolves that want to be that way." I continued quickly, as I could see the despair in the girl's eyes. "I do however know of some potions strong enough to sedate a 'wolf through the whole night...you just shut yourself somewhere safe -just incase- take a draught, and wake up refreshed and revived... rather than bloody and battered...." It truly was all I could offer her. That and the reinforced lead chamber in the basement which was designed to house dangerous artifacts, but could also probably withstand nuclear fallout...

I should have known better. But hearing about how some people were about being a were, it sounded completely crazy to me. "I'm so new to all of this." Maybe that was obvious. I thought about what she was saying, about the drought. "A sleepy time potion? That actually might be able to work a lot better than me just running ramped. How much would that stuff cost?" If it cost too much, I could always ask dad, and tell him I needed it for books or something as ordinary. I really didn't want to tell him his only daughter was a werewolf. He would think I was crazy.

"The ingredients are pretty simple really, they just have to be combined properly... I have to admit that I've never brewed it before myself, but I do know how in theory... If you want to give it a go, I can get it ready for you in time." I really wanted to help this girl and I really didn't understand why. Maybe my slayer conscience was finally kicking in? That nearly made me laugh aloud... but back to the point at hand... "I also have a very secure room in the basement I installed to hold dangerous magical artefacts... It would be a good place to transform... y'know, to make sure the potion works?"

I nodded, almost glad that I didn't have to mix the drought. I would probably mess it up, I was never that great in chemistry. "That would be amazing. All of it." I felt a rush of gratitude. She was the first person who wanted to help that was actually normal "My name's Ashley. If there's anything I can do for you in return, please let me know."

I found myself genuinely smiling. "I'll bare that in mind." I said. It felt good to help someone without any upside for myself, but somehow her promise made me feel more comfortable. "I guess I better get on it then."
