Los Angeles, it turned out, was not only used to weird things going on, but it was also pretty handy when it came to twisting the reports or erasing them altogether. Nicola would've been impressed with their efforts if it didn't weigh down her conscience like a bowling ball. After dealing with the breakdown of her car just outside the city, she'd had to forgo her usual scouting trip when she realised there was no time. And so the change this month was rushed and sloppy - not her finest work by a long shot. Waking up naked and bloody in someone's back garden had been the icing on an otherwise crappy cake, though a quick assessment of the house showed no signs of her actually being inside it and doing any damage. Still it worried her. Some of the blood had been her own but the rest came from another source and her stress levels had screwed her sense of smell. Maybe it was animal, maybe it was human. She had no idea.
She'd gotten a job at The Spot purely to save up enough money to either fix her car or buy a new one - whichever was cheaper - but it also seemed like a good place to glean information. A few drinks and some people were as open as a canyon. So far, though, the majority of customers were more anxious to talk about their crappy lives. No animal attacks on their minds. She poured herself a glass of coke and leaned against the bar. Thankfully the night was young.

Normally she avoided clubs where lots of people danced around but tonight she could sense something off. There were a lot of vampires in the club tonight and she didn't know if that was a sign of something even more horrible to come so she figured that she should probably stay here and see what all the commotion was going to be about. She strongly hoped that there was nothing that was going on since she had no way of getting a hold of the others.
She made her way to the bar and ordered a drink, before looking around the area, trying to find anything or anyone who seemed out of place. So far little luck. She spotted a couple vampires but they were doing their normal thing of dancing with their prey to tempt them outside.
