"For instance," he continued. "If I may, when was the last time you attacked someone with such malice, such vicious killing intent, that your mere presence near killed them, not for others, but simply for your own selfish desire, you're on hate of what they were?"

Her face grew cold at the thought, eyes narrowing at him. "Only one," was her only response. It was the one that scared her the most. Sure she had killed for the simple desire to kill. To feed. Only once out of pure hatred.

He looked at her, that same blank, emotionless look before looking away. "Every damn time I meet a Watcher," he said simply. "I had one die of a heart attack once they realized who I was. What I held against them. the depth of my hatred for their whole damnable organization," he clenched his fists as he thought about it. "And i never wanted to kill him. He was, as far as Watchers go, innocent. his only crime was failure to act."

"Hate is not something you should hang onto," but she was sure the words fell on ears that knew and did not care. When something drives you for so long you don't know how to move on from it.

"You have more to live for then you realize. Redemption is a funny thing and I'm sure there is plenty for you in life." Life, what a funny word. The idea of life existing was a skewed concept at best. Vampires were not alive and yet they moved and acted as if they were.
"And if you wanted that whole picket fence dream then I'm sure you can achieve it," she said truthfully. "It'd be hard but if you wanted it, wouldn't it be worth it?"

"I gave up on 'normal' along time ago," Doc admitted. "'Normal' isn't harnessing a mythical energy source bandied around in RPGs and using it to pull off feats the Warchowski's would pee their pants over. White picket fence was never in my future. I just want to find my sister. But knowing my luck, she's dead already..."

"But at least you'll know," she offered up. "It's not fun knowing she might be dead but maybe... just maybe, she could be alive somewhere." She doubted that but there was that chance and some chance was better then no chance what so ever. Hope was a pesky thing.

"Yeah," he said. "But do i want to know? Maybe I like thinking maybe she got away, has a little family of her own with a dog, maybe a bird, 2.5 kids and thinks her brother is dead instead of a crazed psycopath with mystical powers."

"Well, if she survived, she probably knows that she's different. Maybe not a slayer but you know something's changed when it happens," she said. The dreams alone make things different for you. You dream of past slayers. Their final battles, their experiences. You dream of the future as well. Horrifying dreams. Too many damn dreams.

"Right, it's not just ne anymore," he sighed. "Man. Why does life have to be so difficult. Do i keep going and find her, or let her live her life, if she's alive?"

"It's a hard question, if she's still alive and you find her, I'd probably try and find a way into her life first, see if she knows anything. If not then just leave her alone but keep tabs on her," she shrugged. "But it's your life and I cannot tell you how to do things."

"Don't need to repeat that," she said, chirping up at the idea of killing something. Now finding something to kill while actually looking could be harder. It seems you always find trouble when you're not looking for it. But when you look for it, there is none around.

"Well, time to play bait," Doc said, putting his 'mask' back on and tripping over a tombstone. "The dumb act always brings 'em running. Or flying. Depends on the demon."

"Cause so many of them fly these days," she retorted, crossing her arms. "The dumb act would work much better if you were alone and not with a vampire who wasn't eating you. Demons and vampires can sense other vampires. Unfortunately vampires can't sense most demons. Which can get rather annoying."
