"Well... I don't exactly have the money to buy anything," Kyler replied, deciding not to continue a conversation on names, noticing Rogue's change of topic, "so I generally don't spend much time browsing shops for things I might like. It's easier to make do with what I've got already."
Contrary to what he had just stated, he began to look along shelves at the small bits and pieces that were on display, though not bothering to glance at the pricetags, "is there anything in particular you usually look for? Anything that catches your eye?"

"Just looking at things," she replied as she browsed through the little items some of which were hand made and some you could practically smell the sweat of the children who made them in sweat shops. She noticed he was looking through the little items as well through the corner of her eye but she made no comment nor did she grin. He wanted to try and be inconspicuous then she wouldn't let him know.
"So what do you do when you aren't 'out and about'?" she asked curiously.

"Well... there's school..." He replied, "I don't really go out much other than to train, practice... that sort of thing. I, er, have a lot of energy... and it's rather hard to, you know... get rid of."
He wasn't used to speaking about himself, especially when it was a typically "normal" question about hobbies and the like, which he then realised he didn't tend to have any. His Talent made him long to push himself harder than he knew his body could go... it was a real hassle, being 'broken'.
"How about you? You do anything when you have the spare time?"

"I usually read," she replied, picking up a rather ugly looking panda before putting it down. "Or sharpen stakes." The last part held a bit of a spiteful tone to it. She hated constantly hunting creatures but she was alive and figured she didn't know anything else. What else was there to do for a vampire? What else was there to do for a slayer?

A vampire, who seemed to hate vampires... that was interesting. But what made her so different? He pondered on it for a moment as he glanced an antique-looking sword - something that seemed a little out of place. For the moment, he ignored it, but he edged closer.
"Sharpen stakes?" He asked curiously, unsure as to the reply he'd get. He figured, however, that any other question might result in an possible shut-down of the conversation, or a change of topic. This way, he left it open for her to answer in whichever way she wanted - indirect.

"Yes, sharpen stakes, they wouldn't do much good blunt now would they?" she asked. Actually it was possible to use a blunt stake it was just much more difficult to do so.

Kyler took it as a rhetorical question and just answered with a simple "I guess so." and a shrug.
Eyeing the sword, somewhat hidden behind many other bits and pieces, a little out of the way, Kyler carefully moved some small bits and pieces and reached in to grab it. It looked familiar, as if he should know what it was, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
He grabbed the hilt and pulled it out carefully, so as to not knock anything else over as he did so. The blade had a lightning bolt carved down the blade, nearly to the ridge, and the hilt consisted of a few curved patterns burned into the leather, the entirety of the sword was a little greater than the length of his arm. He'd heard of this weapon before, Martin had told him, but he couldn't quite remember what it was he said about it.
He looked for a pricetag, but couldn't find one. How did the storekeeper hide this in his shop for so long? Kyler continued to examine it, trying to remember why it looked so familiar.

"Interesting item," she replied, looking at the sword. "Didn't even notice it." But that wasn't surprising, she wasn't exactly looking for another weapon. He seemed rather surprised about the weapon so she decided to leave him to that and continue to look through the little shop's nick nacks on another shelf.

Taking the sword over to the shopkeeper, he asked him if he knew anything about it. When the man replied that he had never seen such an item before, Kyler realised that someone else must have placed the sword behind all those items in the shop. Was it intended for him? Or was someone else meant to be the recipient of this weapon?
Regardless, Kyler knew he had heard of or seen this sword before, and so, with a quick "thank you for your help", he carefully put the sword away in his bag, wrapping it in his greys which he decided would be best to keep within as well, and headed back over to Rogue, who was looking at more bits and pieces.

"Find something of interest? she asked curiously as she looked at him, having decided this store didn't have anything of interest for her. "Are you planning on walking with me to the next little shop?" she asked curiously having also decided to check out another store.

"I think I have, I've got it in my bag." He replied, his tone not expressing excitement, but rather, confusion.
He wondered if he should tell her that he simply pocketed the sword, and didn't buy it... but the storekeeper didn't know anything about it nor claimed to own it, so he figured that it was his for the taking... he had stolen before, after all.
He then smiled and in a more cheery tone said "I'll come with you to some more shops."

She smiled back with a small chuckle, "As you wish, why you'd want to follow me around I have no clue but I wont stop you," she said as she headed out of the store before moving onto the store next to it which had some more little items in it.

Kyler followed her into the next store. He laughed a little at her comment about questioning why he'd want to hang around with her. He wondered for a moment about the same thing. He figured he needed to know people here, and she seemed to be someone useful to get to know, and he didn't all too much mind this browsing through shops either.
"So, if you don't mind my asking," he began as they browsed through the small items on the shelves in the shop, he softened his voice for the next bit, so as to not allow anyone around to hear, just in case - better safe than sorry, "being a vampire, means you age, but it doesn't necessarily show, right? So how old are you exactly? If you don't mind... that is."

She wondered if she should tell him or not but figured what the hell, "I'm three hundred and nine, including human years." She was called as a slayer late, which was why she had lived to be the age of 23. Had she been called at a younger age she had no doubts that she would have died sooner. Slayers never tended to live long. She only lasted a little over two years as a slayer. Which was about average.
"And how old are you?" she countered with a small chuckle. She assumed he was in his late teens possibly early twenties but looks didn't mean a whole hell of a lot in accordance with age. There were many powerful and dangerous creatures that used the guise of a younger generation to hide themselves.

Kyler let out a small "wow", before replying to Rogue's question... "myself, I'm eighteen."
"Does life... or... whatever you call it, undeath?" Kyler felt very young now, as well as awkward, at the question he was attempting to ask a 300-year old woman who barely looked 25, "Doesn't it get boring after a while?"
