Oh the irony. Here she was a brit from a time where the New World was just a speck in the world standing beneath the fireworks display of LA. The heat from the past several days making the air stuffy and the heat from all the people didn't help much but it didn't bother her much since the heat did nothing for or against her. To those who brushed against her though would not be able to identify her as a vampire even if they were trained to know the signs. Her body was just as warm as any living persons from the heat around her.
Though she knew she was being followed she dressed up, looking different from how she normally looked, choosing to play the part of the fragile girl over the tough attitude her usual attire held, this time even wearing a sun dress, another cruel irony, and her hair done up a little more. She didn't want to be easily identified for the moment. She needed to take care of a few things before meeting the problem of the bounty on their heads.
Looking up at the fireworks she let herself get lost in them just for a second before looking around the crowd. She left a note asking for Doc to meet her here within the crowd of people, part of her was afraid that he would show and part of her wished he would. Regardless she needed to warn him of the bounty so he would stay away from Maya.
She also needed to deliver her package to him. A gift.
A familiar itch began to bother her on her left wrist and she scratched at it for a moment before letting it drop.
Would he show?

He growled as he stalked through the crowd, his hand sliding under his jacket, checking for the weapon he had 'liberated' from one of Raven's abandoned armories, a Glock 9mm. Not very useful against vampires, but he kind of liked the idea of shooting out both her kneecaps before staking her. That idea had merit.
'She is so lucky I didn't tell Maya about this meeting,' he thought as he looked around for her. 'So very lucky.'[/u]

She was close to giving up before she saw him, taking a breath to quiet the flips in her stomach and part of her hated that he stirred up these ridiculous feelings. The idea that she still felt something for him was driving her crazy. The whole Raven thing was supposed to clear those feelings away and yet she still couldn't get rid of the image in her head on if she hadn't choked him that night. If she chose to stay with him in the apartment. Her heart hurt at the thought...
Damnit. Suppressing the feelings she strode towards him, stopping for a moment before moving away towards an alley way. There were too many people right here for her to talk freely but she didn't' want to drive him too far away from the crowd to keep him comfortable. No need to get him to turn away.

He followed slowly, switching his thoughts between how he was going to hurt her and just how damn GOOD she looked in that sundress. Damn it, why did she always have to be so tempting, so...
No! Don't go there. focus. She betrayed you once, she'll do it again. Hear her out, take her out, and leave a nice new pile of dust in the alley. Simple quick, easy.
But damn, she looked good...

Not trusting that he wouldnt' try anything with her back to him she walked half way down the alley keeping her sights on the entrance of the alley way, past Doc as he entered the alley, more focused now on the entrance than Doc's potential threat. There was a reason she chose this alley, there was a tall brick wall behind her. No way for any bounty hunters to sneak up on them while she spoke to him.
After a moment of silence she spoke up. "You look like you've been doing well..." Lame but it came out before she could stop it before chuckling to herself. "Damn... Awkward, anyways I came to warn you that there's a bounty on our heads. Alive but I figured you'd want to know so you can stay away from anyone important. Don't worry, I plan on tying up my loose ends." Why was it she was more interested in finding out how he had been after she left than talking about the mess they were in.
There was also a part of her that was pissed at Doc for unknowingly letting Raven go.

"Not a total surprise," he said wryly, ignoring her first question pointedly. Still seriously pissed here, no matter how good she might look. "We royally screwed Raven over. He's probably looking for some back up. As to the 'staying away from anyone important'... let's just say I'd like to see him try," he gave a feral grin. "I've learnt a bit since you vanished. They can look after themselves and at Raven's current capabilities, he doesn't have the manpower to try anything. They're almost as paranoid as I am," no gender, not mention of certain people. Obviously she wasn't luring him into a trap, but for now, he'd be cautious.

"Good to hear," she almost smiled but kept it down, matching his serious look before tossing him a large envelope. "Here's a gift as well, one you'll like I think." She waited for him to open it before continuing. "The last man on the team sent to retrieve your sister, the ones who killed her years ago. There's enough in there that if you want to turn him over to the police he'll be charged with your families' murders as well as the others he's commited or you can do as you will with him. His life is yours. Took me a while to catch him, managed to break my wrist in the struggle." Lie, lie, lie; her mind scream but she gave no indication of the lie. "Do you know how hard it is to grab a trained assassin with a broken wrist?" Giving a chuckle she kept her eyes on the opening of the alley.

He opened the envelope, looking over the information within. Retired Watcher, answered only to Travers, in charge of the team that took Maya. It was tempting, but it wasn't just his decision to make. Not anymore.
"And this is supposed to make up for stabbing me in the back?" He asked, sliding it into his pocket."

"Technically I didn't, I never said anything to indicate that I was turning against you," tilting her head up. This she was prepared for. "I did what I needed to to get close to Raven. And no I don't think it'll make up for my actions. I didn't want to hurt you but I needed to get close to him before he put his plan in motion. I needed him to react on my terms and not his own. When this is over you are free to stake me if you must, I'll even let you."
Though she was sure he wouldn't she still put it out there. She told Matt that she was willing to do so and even though she did not want to be dusted she would let him if he still desired her death. She was true to her word to those she trusted. "But I never really betrayed you... I... I needed you to think I had."

"And that's supposed to make things better?" he asked, his hand touching the Glock lightly. "You took me STRAIGHT to Raven. The one man i DIDN'T want to face. Did you not pay any attention to what i told you about him," he glared at her angrily. Dammit, he needed to calm down, there were too many people too close to pull the handgun. "What if he'd figured you out? We'd BOTH be dead."

"Figure out my plan? Well than I'd have teleported us earlier." Boy it sounded stupid when she said it. Never mind that she wanted Doc to see her kill Raven, to know he truely was dead. Not only that but she hoped it would have erased his fear of the man. "Besides, he's not the first bad guy I've brought down by pretending to be their obedient servant. His kind are easy to read. Greed blinds them. They desire something so much they forget to see whats in front of them. Plus I was no threat with the necromancer in the room. With one snap of his fingers I would have been nothing but a play toy for Raven. And you were the only one I trusted to bring in. I knew you'd take out the necro." So many reasons and things she wanted to say but she cut herself off to allow him a moment to speak.

"Lot's of ifs and buts," he snorted. "You knew, yeah. What about me. I knew nothing! And you're so sure he'd leave you in the room. So sure you knew how he'd act. What if he hadn't? Where would we be then?"

"Fucked, yes. There were too many variables. It was a horrible plan but the gamble was worth it. Even if it means you hate me. I don't care. Once I kill him I'll be satisfied." She hated leaving things half done. "Besides, if we were separated than he'd either let you kill me eventually or give me another chance to possible get close. Hell if he gave me missions I could probably get close enough to kill him even with the necro there. Unless he killed me there wasn't anything that was going to stop me from getting you back out."

"Maybe," he said slowly, turning aound. "Just don't think anything's going to change. What happened hurt, Rogue. i trusted you and you did the one thing i didn't want you to do. Thanks for the warning," he shot her a sideways glance over his shoulder. "Now stay away from me."

"There was no maybe in my mind. Only certainty." I love you. The words were right there, wanting to come out of her mouth. With nothing else to loose she figured why not. Why not take the chance. "I love you. Fuck if I know why," she said loud enough for him to hear but with his back to her she decided to take off, not wanting to see his reaction. She fucked up and she knew it. The fact that she still loved him was probably just as fucked up.
