A huge part of Rogue hadn't desired to leave the hospital but part of her was glad for the opportunity to escape. Now she was in his good graces but did that mean that she actually wanted to pursue a relationship with the man? He grated her nerves like no one ever had in the past and yet when she was around him, every bit of caution went to the wind.
He was stupid, careless and reckless. Letting himself get shot like that. She should have gone out and taken the man down. The only thing that would have been left of him would have been blood stains, but NOOOOOoooo... He had to go out and play macho tough guy.
She was going to get herself killed by doing the stupid things she was doing around him and he was going to die. Human. Human. The vampyric voice that sounded so much like her own and yet it was not her whispered.
You know, playing with your food isn't a good habit to develop... the voice in her head as always was a constant source of annoyance, much like the current turmoil between common sense and the long since dead heart which seemed to want to beat for someone new.
As much as the idea frightened her she was also sure that in the end nothing would happen. He was too dim to see that she was interested and he gave no indication other than physical interest. There was a line of love or lust and she wasn't sure which side Doc's feelings lay. Trust wasn't part of that equation.
With conflict going on in her head and with much to do she opened the door to the library, glad Mal had decided to let her in.

"I suppose I should say welcome back," Mal said from his seat. "But I have a feeling you probably won't stay too long," he looked up from his book giving her a critical eyes. "Jackson is notoriously thick headed and I'm afraid he's rather good and holding onto grudges."

"Thats alright, I have a grudge or two for the man myself," she replied somewhat disinterested in the conversation that seemed to have started. "Regardless, for now he's not wanting to kill me so I suppose we'll take it from there. But first of all we have a bit of a problem."
"Remember that look up I asked of you last time I was here?" Of course he did. "I need you to find his current location. I need to track him down and take him off the playing field. Doc wants me to turn him over alive but I feel that isn't a necessity. Yes it'll keep me in his 'good graces' but I well not chance him getting loose to harm more people." Oh Doc certainly wouldn't be happy. "But if I can I'll bring him in alive I well do so."
If she was smart she would kill the man and leave town. Drop everything to do with Doc...

"Trying to cut your losses?" he asked her succinctly as he stood to do the look up. "To tell hte truth, I'm tempted to deny you this."

"Why?" she asked, watching Mal with curiosity.

"Because the second you kill him, you'll tell Doc and then use his temper as an excuse to leave, and probably never return," Mal said, glaring at her. "And when you DO, you'll place him either in harms way or a great deal of emotional pain, endangering whatever relationship he may have built up in your absence," he shook his head at her. "Honestly, I don't know what he sees in you. However, he DOES see something in you, whether he will admit to it or not," he sighed, taking his usual permission. "I'll do the lookup, but I want your word you'll follow Doc's request. Believe me when i say, he won't be getting away."

"I don't make promises I can't keep. If I can grab him I'll grab him. If there's a strong possibility of escape than I'll take any chance I can to kill him. Regardless of Doc's poor ego and temper, I well not allow him to escape. He's a poison to the world and I wont chance him getting lose." It was all she could say on that subject before chuckling wearily.
"And I don't see what he see's in me either. But he isn't much of a catch he or you think him to be. You may side with him when it comes to what I did but the why I did so was the true goal. Weither you know or believe it or not." She could tell Doc had been rubbing off at her at the next comment that escaped her lips.
"The road to hell is paved with good intentions."
"Besides, I may have used it as a reason to leave but he used it as a reason to tell me too, so unless you start laying blame on someone besides me, than I'll find him the slower way. Or get him to try and attack me." She had little time for these games and why Mal and Doc seemed to think she was the only one with blame was starting to get on her nerves.

Mal shook his head at her. "I never said this was about your plan with Raven now, did I?" He asked he pointedly. "The word 'betrayal' wasn't mentioned. 'Abandonment' was. And if you can't avoid killing him, I can understand that. but don't use it as an excuse. Jackson's had enough pain to experience it every time you decide to interfere in his life because, despite what you say, you can't let him go," he side, going through the look up before giving her an address. "Honestly, you're both as bad as each other," he said, turning away and heading into the shelves.

"Doesn't mean I wont try," she said as he wondered off. "If either of us had any interest in survival we would just leave each other alone but apparently, we're either idiotic or suicidal. Haven't decided which we are as of yet..." Though she was likely talking to herself at this point.
"So whats this about you getting in a relationship with the slayer who can channel slayers?"

"I'm just helping her with her situation," he said, walking out with another book. "Since the help she's gotten thus far has been woefully inadequate. Shouldn't you be leaving?"

"Hey, you're the one who brought up relationship stuff, and in fair warning Doc wants to play cupid. Funny since he can't read people as well as he thinks he does." She chuckled to herself mostly at that last bit before nodding. "I'd tell you that I'll inform you when I'm done but you'd probably end up knowing regardless." With a thankful nod she took off from the library.

Mal shook his head. Did she really think he needed a warning about Doc. Being able to read the knowledge of the Planet itself wasn't the only gift he had. Jackson had always been an open book. As a counter part of his would have said 'half-boiled'.
Still, this rift between them was going to be a problem. Maybe he should try a little matchmaking of his own...
