I used the video in one of my education classes. My presentation was the inequalities in the classroom today. So I showed this video to show the extreme and the class was so into the presentation that I only had to guide the discussion.
Needless to say I had the best presentation. XD No one else got the class so excited about their topic. XD Course that was the video that got them excited but still. I got an A for that one.
My Aunt was there to see it and she thought it was great. XD

Doesn't it show more the difference in attitudes towards the education of different genders, rather than inequalities within education itself? But I get the idea. Good idea.

It tends to be that girls are more adept at learning in the classroom because guys tend to be more physical, hands on, sorta thing... there's statistics showing that girls tend to do better when there's less hands-on activities present, and guys do better when there are. Unfortunately, the way the education system is, there's not much, especially in lower grades, that caters for boys that need that physical aspect, and so you see many boys actually getting worse in school, as the girls tend to get better...
But then there's the exceptions (me, for example) and other bits and pieces that poke into it and all that... but in general, it seems that's how it is.

Well, the problem is also that boys are visual, and most of american schools use powerpoint and mostly a lot of words. Then everyone is expected to copy and then read the reading, then test.
The boys do not want to go the extra mile and make it readable and easy for them to understand, which of course isn't an absolute.
The video choice fit the class best since race is a non issue in the class but rather gender inequalities was among students. In a class (and school system) where a third of the population is AA and another third is Mexican (or Latino) it's hard to discriminate on race without getting an uproar. The only other good one would have been sexual orientation since we have a couple of BIG homophobes in the class who were not the nice kind who are like 'Um, ok...' but the ones who would say shit about them, but for the sake of not causing an uproar in people who would never see the other side of that I chose something that was prominent and that I knew would be enjoyable. XD
But yeah, it's pretty focused on only one part of inequality. XD

It seems that the American schools and the Australian schools have the opposing problems... while your school cater to guys more... ours cater to girls. XD We should probably meld some ideas into each other, so it can be even with both... and we'd solve each other's problems

Why only maybe? Good education system means everyone's better, and we don't get stupid people growing up...
as for the latter... well... everyone likes explosions! XD
