Race Name: Human (Talented)
General attitudes: Very much like ordinary humans, the Talent sometimes makes a few think themselves superior to others.
General Appearance: Humanoid
Average Life Span: Approximantely 80 years.
Strengths: The Talent is an unconcious magic that surges through a Talented body. It is an extension of the person. Talented humans have heightened senses and better (unconcious) reflexes.
Weaknesses: Mortality
Abilities/Powers:
A Telented person may have varying abilities. When using the Talent, a person's strength and speed increases, generally.
There are specific "Talents" that a Talented could have, they range greatly and can only be used for a limited amount of time.
Other information:
To be Talented, a human must have three things, and they must be connected. Most humans DO have these, but they simply aren't connected.
The first is a means to draw mana from the outside world. This is usually achieved through the skin. Most people can absorb mana from the world via small patches on the skin... most common are via the face (especially the eyes), arms and chest, others have larger portions of skin that absorb mana, some have very small areas.
The second is storage. Mana used for Talents is stored in three places, the heart, liver and stomach. Most people use the heart and stomach as storage, some, only the heart, fewer still, the heart and liver, and very very rarely, all three organs. The amount of storage directly depends on the size of the organ (hence, the liver stores the most mana).
The third are conduits. These allow stored mana to be used as concious Talent. People have five of these, in the arms, legs and neck. It is very common to be born with one or more conduits damaged or missing. At the age of 20, it is also common for the body to rid itself of the conduits in the legs. A person needs at least two fully functioning conduits to properly use their Talent.
