The sun began to rise, I could feel it. The sickness I always felt deep in my stomache, more like an ache. Slowly I sat up. I was going to goto bed... but... maybe... I slowly made my way to the door and took the elevator to the roof and started up the stairs.

Slowly I opened the door, letting the heat from the soon to be rising sun fill my cold skin. If my heart could beat I know it would drown all other sound into a small droan but it didn't beat, hadn't in a long time. How could I have been dead for so many years without truly knowing it. I walked along the roof top, away from the door. My clothing offered no protection against the wind. The first rays of light escaped over the horizon, freezing my body in place. Fear shaking my frame and I shut my eyes, hands balled ino fists at my side. The air seemed devoid of moisture as my body began to feel the burn. Pain shot through me, making me taste blood as I had bit my tongue to keep from crying out. That did nothing to stop the pain, not that I thought it would but it kept it hidden. A scream tore through my lips when the heat became too much. But my body didn't burst into flames. I could feel the fire upon my skin and I could feel it slowly peel away but I didn't combust. The pain became too much and my legs gave way and I feel to my knees. Two lights left the amulet around my neck but a bright light came back.
And with it I felt myself breathe in my first breath in a long time. It seemed my body couldn't take the sudden surprise of being jump started and I feel to the ground. The sound of my heart beating was the last thing I heard in the darkness.

I heard the scream cut through my sleep. I snapped awake. At first I thought I was still sleeping, but I saw the light through my curtains and groaned. Why did the demons of LA have to be so rude? Then I realized the scream was coming from the roof. It could be any one of our family. I sat up, I grabbed my short sword, and bolted out of my room. Tyler was already running for the front door, the pillow and blanket that he slept with were torn from the couch onto the floor. We shared a look and ran up the stairs, our adrenilen not thinking to take the elevator. We hit the roof top, and we saw Rogue colapsed on the ground. We picked her up and brought her inside, neither of us thinking about the lack of flames that should be surounding her. We took her to her apartment, and layed her down on the couch, waiting for her to wake.

My body shook its self awake, my body rapidly healing the burns and the skin that had burned away. My body was drinking in the air rapidly, for once actually needing it. Eyes opened I could now see I was inside Ashley's apartment and raised my burned hand. I could see the muscle below before new skin healed over it. I could only imagine it was doing the same to the rest of my body.

Tyler saw her first. I was in the kitchen looking for something to heal the burn wounds. "Hey Ash! I don't think we'll be needing the first aid!" I was confused, so I came back "Why? Oh..." Nothing could be said, it was almost cool how her skin grew back.

I continued to stare at my hand for a moment before setting it down with a sigh. I had my powers back.

"Rogue? You ok?" I asked. Tyler gave her the same look. "What were you doing outside? That was really kinda stupid of you." I nodded in agreement

I looked at them teasingly, suddenlly feeling happy. "I wanted to die," if only to live.

"Again?!" We didn't even notice that it sounded weird when both of us talked at the same time. "You wanted to die?" "Again?" "Why?" "Commiting suicide is not the best way to solve your problems!" "And why are you smileing at us?" It was like a mirror. Even though we looked diffrent, we had the same posture, arms crossed, and a stern look upon our faces. We stood on either side of Rogue, watching, waiting for her to answer.

I couldn't help but start laughing. A true honest laugh. I laughed hard enough that tears leaked through but didn't stop there.

Tyler and I looked up at the same time, our eyebrow raised questioningly. "She's lost it." We said to each other, and then nodded in response. We turned our attention back to Rogue. "What's so funny?"

"I'm alive," I smiled, I truly smiled. Everything felt new. I misted to stand behind them but apparently my body didn't like that cause the floor seemed to jump right at me

We watched her turn to mist, and we watched her fall on her face. We quickly kneeled next to her to help her back onto the couch. ""You're alive?"" We weren't sure what that mean, and we both thought that Rogue was still crazy.

""The last time you went out into the sun, you were knocked unconsious."" I gave Tyler a look and put my fingers on Rogue's neck. It was warm. That surprised me, but I also felt a pulse. I gasped and stepped backwords. "How did that happen?"
