It was several days after the battle until Joshua allowed me to go back to normal life, and still he watched my every move. When he finally agreed to actually go to college for the first time in over a week, I headed straight for the dojo- that little near-death experience had totally zapped me. I needed a good work out. I picked one of the smaller gyms, asked Mal to put on some loud music, and started stretching as the first chords blared.

"Apology accepted," I said, grinning. "Hey, this Dawn and Dusk book looks good, I think I'll read it next." I could almost hear Mai rolling her eyes.

((and nobody do a Josh and turn that into a story line of your own! *stern look* ;D good))
I wound strips of cloth around my fists, and Mal lowered a punchbag from a hatch in the cieling. I smiled, and began to pummel it- goddess it felt good to be back in action!

"Well, you seem rested," I said, walking up from the lower levels. "How you feeling, sis?"

I settled in for a good read. After a dozen or so pages I was well emersed in the story. It was written like a diary, all the entries being about two children. It was quite sad later on but it felt good to read something that was pure fiction and didn't mean some terrible doom had happened or was coming, like all my other books.

"Good." I replied, stopping the bag in its swing and smiling at him, "It's nice to be moving again- Josh has treated me like spun glass for the last fwe days." He chuckled, "You were in a pretty bad state." "Yah, were, past tense. Now i'm fine." I rolled my eyes, "Erm...Josh thinks i'm researching, ok?"

"Slayers," I muttered, rolling my eyes. the two of them glared at me.
"Did you say something, brother dear?" Maya asked innocently. I grinned.
"I said 'Slayers'," I answered. "Read as you will."

"I was just thinking on seeing how my muscles are after being a vampire for so long," I said giving him a hard look.

I looked at him a little surprised.
"If you think you would stand a chance," I said looking at him, wondering how strong he really was, sience I never fought him before.

"actually, I'm looking for a challenge ," I said. "Maya, Josh, Avalon and Aila are the only Slayerettes that really do that. An 800 year old Vampire Slayer should have some moves i haven't seen before."
