I walked up to stand beside Doc.
"Another mortal." Pepper-but-not-Pepper said. "Move both of you."
I looked at her. "You don't understand do you?" I asked. "You need to learn the ropes. Rule number one. Nobody, except nobody, takes over my girlfriend and does the high and mighty act on me."

I gave TPot a sideways glance, nothing more, and continued to stare holed into the former girls. Their attempts to do...whatever they were trying slid of me like oil on water, the combination of light and dark now within me protecting me easily, simply because of the balance it held.

The two girls seemed unable to get a foothold of Doc. So they turned to me.

Without taking my attention off the now furious injured demons, I threw up a shield around Tpot, protecting him from the shifters. Pepper and Chime had made a huge impact, and now Isis' warriors were cutting the writhing demons down with ease... the problem was that still more were appearing...

They had weakened the demons. merely a few arrows took them down now... but their buddies were coming... and Jack was watching the wierd shifter people, not the demon right behind him.
"Jack!" I yelled, running towards them. Just as the huge sting on the beast behind got within an inch of the teenager, everything froze, and i gulped. "Erm... oops?" I murmured. I quickly slew the demon attacking jack, and took out another few with nop idea how my accidental time freeze would last. Just as the head of the tenth dropped to the ground, time recommenced....

A shot a glance at Aila, my eyebrow rising aslightly. Someone needed to train with that a bit.
My attention returned to the two in front of me, awaiting something other than their pathetic attempts.

We make quite a good team. I thought with an inward smile.

Aila and Jack were doing well, esspecially with Ailas occasional time leaps, and Isis' soldiers were amazing... but all i could think as i glanced around, seeing more and more demons emerging, was- It's not enough.

Maya felt something coming beind her. She leapt and turned in one sift movement and saw...
One of the demons falling. It looked like... no, I was. It'd been turned to stone.
"Looks like mother's stare works fine on these guys," a voice said. Maya looked past teh statue and saw a young man, not much older than her, in a leather jacket, denim jeans and a shirt. He was wearing sunglasses and his hair moved like it was... wait, was that a snake?
"You must be maya. I'm daniel. I'd take the glasse off, but..." he gestured at teh demon.

Time to try out the sword. I swung it at a demon. I over balanced and almost fell "This might be hard." Priz said. "But this will be your first sword lesson."" Now try like this." I tried again. This time severing the demon.

I was pretty pissed by now. ou get like that when half your bones are broken and two arrogant ancestors have taken over your friends' bodies and took away your mouth.
Family is always embarrasing.

I gave the Pepper thing one more look before turning away.
"Where are you going?" She demanded. I turned slightly, emotionless eyes glaring at her.
"There is still a battle being fought," I said tonelessly. "Opponents to defeat and innocents to protect. If you will not do your duty, if you've have left any humanity you may have one time possessed in the Soul Lake, then it is up to me to fill the gap the two warriors you have possessed leave. For above all else, i am both a warrior and a guardian."

I walked past Jessy, touching the skin where her lips had been gently. "Rest, daughter. This one is mine," with that I roared into battle again, ignoring my own injuries. This is why I existed, and at that moment, i revelled in it.
