(((Not actually in LA, but in a graveyard.)))
I traced the letters in the worn stone again, trying to feel her through the stone. They were cold and hard, nothing like her but still I stayed, lingering. I knew she was here, she would be.
I curled up as a cat and sheltered behind the gravestone.
Suddenly I heard her voice. "Jessy?" But I knew.
"Hi Jasmine."

I reached out a hand to touch the shivering shifter. She turned, startled. Her eyes were red and teary and she didn't look her best.
"Rory? I thought you were in L.A." She sounded confused. I gave a small laugh.
"Doc frightens the shit out of me. I'm gonna fight the demons here. What's wrong?" I smiled, in what I hoped was a comforting way. It's not everyday you meet your ex 100 miles from where you thought they were in front of their mother's grave.
Then she began to tell me everything.
At the end I was hugging her tightly. "Never realised that I was the ONLY guy for you," I said jokingly. She gave a weak smile. Poor thing, she had it bad. "Want to stay here for a while?" She nodded. "Try to sleep. It will seem as crap as the battle we're gonna have in the morning but it will be better by afternoon."

(((Jasmine's pov))) "Actually, she'll be gone by morning," Jasmine said coldly. "She promised she'd be there to help the others and I promised I'd get her there."
"Who are you?" Rory asked.
"Jasmine," she said. "Mal's mother. And Jessy's Guardian Angel," Rory's eyes bulged. "I'm the one that helps when no one else can. You left her with a lot of backage, Rory. You're lucky I can't beat you unless you cause her physical harm."

"Yeah, and I've gone through hell for it. But it's strange isn't it?" I spat, "Strange, that of all the people she could talk about her problems to she chose two vampires. Me and rogue. Not you, not Doc, not Mai. Me and Rogue. Maybe you should try and understand that while you guys maybe her friends, I've known her since she was 3. She trusts me. She told me how bad everything was because she knew I'd still be her friend and she knew that I wouldn't react. She didn't tell any of you guys." I was on a roll. " She's known you guys, for what, 6 months? She came 100 miles to get away from you guys and like it or not, she is staying until she feels better enough to go home. And I'm making sure you don't pressure her into anything, guardian angel or not. I'm watching over her now, not you."

"And tell me, Rory," Jasmine said, her voice like ice. "Tell me, who was left to look after her when you went evil? Because that's when she became my responisbility. And that doesn't stop until I get orders from the higher ups. You see," she said, turning on her aura, "that isn't a self proclaimed title," she turned, brushing her hand across Jessy's face. "I'll leave you two to talk. But if he hurts you, just call," with that, she vanished, reappearing a ten metre away. It was her job, Rory be damned (hopefully) and she wasn't abandoning her post.

(((Rory)))
"Bloody angels. Where were they when Doc went Francois? And where would they be if he did it again?" I muttered angrily. Jessy gave me a sad, sleepy smile.
"She can be overprotective. So can you and doc."

Jasmine sat on the tombstone, listening from ten metres away. Where were they when Doc became Francois? Preparing the things and people who would be needed to bring him back, and keep him there. Jasmine chuckled at the tought sof the arguments Gabriel and Raiden had had over him, which of them woudl teach him, bring him back to the light, even if it meant dragging him kicking and screaming.
Rory knew nothing of the intricacies of the plans that surrounded Doc, or some of the others for that matter. But Doc especially, considering his volitilty.
"It must be nice to be ignorant," she whispered into the wind.
"You know vampires," Tash said, walking up behind her. "Souled or not, they're always the most arrogant creatures on the face of the planet. They think they know it all."
"Unfortunately, the little gaijin is needed," Jasmine said.
"Yeah, he's a prick," Tash agreed. "But a useful one. watch."

"Go to sleep Jess" I smiled. It was like being five again, camping out in Rory's treehouse. Well, his garden. The treehouse was always 'about' t be built. Rory became a large timber wolf, while I became a small fox. Then I began to sleep.

"Told ya," Tash said triumphantly.
"I still don't like him," Jasmine muttered. "You know our rule. They don't get guardians unless necessary. If he hadn't left her in the first place..."
"Face it, you still would have attached yourself to the girl because of Doc," Tash accused.
"Well, yeah," Jasmine muttered. Tash smiled victoriously and vanished. Jasmine settled in. She was going to be there as long as Jess needed her. No matter what teh vampire said.

(((Rory)))
"Look, Jasmine, if you are gonna stay there is no point it standing ten metres away. I can still tell you are there. I may be a vamp, but I was a shifter first." Jasmine didn't seem to listen. Oh well. I curled around Jessy to keep her warm.

"You're the one that wanted me to leave her alone," Jasmine whispered. "And while i can't do that. I can give you two some space. For the moment, at least, you are the one that can help her. But hurt her again, and Doc will be the last thing you have to worry about."

(((Rory)))
"Nah, I think I'll worry about everyone. But just one point. Why are you here threatening me, aside from Jessy being here, when there is one hell of a bitch who needs her ass kicked to Timbucktu back in L.A?" Maybe I should go do that, I thought. Whoever this 'Chime' was, she was cold.

"Oh, I don't think I have to worry about her," Jasmine whispered. "Mal heard the whole thing. And you know who he'll tell."
