"'Ello, Des. I need you to do somet'in' for me."
"Does it have anything to do wit' why half de demon population on de planet is runnin' for de nearest portal?" She asked. I gave a low chuckle and explained the situation.
"Need you to gat'er de ravens before de next week," I told her. "We gon' stop dis, we need Raiden's best, oui?"
"Oui. I'll gat'er dem up and move dem all to LA. Be careful, Francois. You know dis not gon' be easy."
"De best t'ing's never are, cher. I see you 'round," I hung up and looked over at Mai. "They'll be here."

I nodded curtly, "Right. But we also need to ensure we have people elsewhere, spread out- they're not all gonna hit LA." he nodded, "I know... this whole attack everywhere at once thing..." "Its not gonna be easy." I sighed again.

It had been a very long time since I'd actually needed to breathe. Since vampires were technically dead, there was no real point in them using all that extra energy to inhale and exhale. But every few hundred years, I found myself in a situation where it was very calming to take a deep breath. Now was one of those times.
Aralin stood behind me, gripping my daughter's sword tightly in her hand. After much debate and deliberation, we had eventually decided that she should be the one to weild it. The soul sabre and the Celebhith seemed like more obvious choices for me, both having their powers rooted in the power of souls, something that could come very much in handy when I would be surrounded in dark magic and pure demons.
***
We'd spent the past... God's above, I had no idea how long it was, but it had been in Valinor, where time doesn't matter. I mean, honestly, when you're surrounded by immortal elves and Gods, who honestly cares about the passing of time? But it had changed me, made me ready. I had visited the soul of my husband many times, speaking with him, reconciling. And the Gods, oh how I feared my confrontation with them, but to my surprise it was rather plesant. They hallowed our weapons, giving us some new trinkets to play with. I still wasn't quite sure about the amulet around my neck, but assumed that it was important. I was just anxious to see the gang again.
I was on my lonely way out of the city, making sure that I had all of my weapons. Depite all of the new 'toys' I'd gotten, I could not forget my heritage; my bow took up its familiar place across my back with a quiver of arrows. No matter what, I knew I would eventually find my roots in the familiar weapon of my people. Satisfied that everything was in order, I mounted my horse and spurred him onward. I had gone perhaps 30 leagues when I saw a figure on the road ahead. Aralin. She smiled at me, and I could see her horse laden with weapons and trinkets from the God's as well. As I approached, an army of elves rode up behind her onto the crest of the hill. My heart leapt in my throat.
"You do not honestly believe we would leave you alone, did you?" my sister questioned, a smiled playing on her features. "No, we could not abandon you."
"The elves have fought in many battles," replied another, Maedhros. "We will not forsake Arda or it's people. The elves have pledged their allegiance. We will battle where we are needed, but we leave LA to you."
I smiled gratefully, and was surprised to feel the forgotten feeling of salt-water on my cheeks. I was actually crying.
"Thank you," I whispered. "Thank you so much."
***
And now, here I was, standing outside Maya's door, my hand raised and ready to knock. They needed me, and by the Valar how I needed them. I was scared, but ready. This was what I had to do. The last time I'd seen a pure demon, it had killed me, and I became a monster. Now, it was time to return the favour. Only this time, death would be permanent.
I glanced over at Aralin, finding comfort in her eyes, and knocked.
"Maya! Open the damn door!"

No way... it couldnt be! Both Doc and i gaped at the door, and i leapt up, pulling it open to see del grinning. I threw my arms around her in a powerful hug, "You have no idea how much i was hoping you would randomly turn up again." I said, muffled due to the hug.

Ok, I can't say that I didn't expect the hug, but I didn't expect it to be quite so... I couldn't find the word. But I smiled.
"You don't think we'd miss this, did you?" I replied. "Battle for earth, almost certain death, small chance of success... what was I waiting for?!"
I could hear Doc chuckle behind her, through his obvious tension. Aralin came in and bowed ever so subtly as a sign of respect. Doc was, after all, the first one of my friends she'd actually warmed up to. Not to mention the little street-racing adventure.
"It is good to see you again," she said quietly. "And you as well, Maya. We have missed you."
"Yea," I supported. "Definite miss-age. So is there anything I should know about besides mass amount of pure demons attacking earth?"

"Erm... well, Charlies not dead." I said flippantly, "And neither is Aila. But she is 17." "Shes..." "Demon dimension." I explained, "They trained her and everything... but i get to do the magic stuff." I grinned. "Oh, and i think Jessy is gay."

"Can't believe I missed that," I muttered in shock, which earned a chuckled from the girls. "Good to see you, Del. You too Lin. We have to go street racing again some time."

We'll never be ready. I thought to myself, but made sure to hide it from everyone else. Instead, i grinned at Del and Lin and said, "Good timing girls."

Even though I was all the way over in Egypt, using some newly aquired powers, I was able to receive certain bits of information, and got my own army together.
I sent a long-distance telepathic message to Maya:
'I will not be around for long, my quest is not yet over, but know this, the dead are prepared to fight for the living.'
Maya replied, 'Does this mean you're coming to visit?'
'Only for a short period of time, until the fight is over, and I've got my own army!' I replied.
