For some reason it was nice to be back. But this pleasant feeling left as soon as I saw the wreckage around me. I was furious. This was my land of origin. Noone touched my land of origin. Pepper seemed to feel the same. Despite her age she was going to kick demon butt.

<Alchohol is bad for the baby, even if it may help you> I telepathically communicated with Mai, only being previewed to her thoughts because she was sharing them with me. The only way I'd let her go, if I could know what was happening to her, and that meant constant telepathic contact. Since we hardly ever fight anymore, it's hardly a bad thing.  |

I noticed Pepper's eyes flick towards something and followed her gaze. There was...something...but I couldn't make it out.

"Do not worry, young one" The old blob said to Jessy. "I cannot blame you". He turned to Pepper more serious now."Pepper....it came..I could not stop it" he said "It's hiding in........ahhhhh" He did not get a chance to finsh his entence as a clawed hand grabbed him and dragged him down, into the lake.
