"Right, now I need to get rid of this empathy." I searched through the bookshelves for a suitable tome.

(((I'm not here anymore, but might I suggest a simple 'binding spell'. It's used to keep powers and other such stuff that might be magic or supernaturally inclined from working. If targeted only on the empathy, it will bind only the empathy, leaving your other powers completely normal.)))

"Chelle!" I screamed, the sound echoing through the library.
"What is it?" I showed her the page I'd just read. "Holy ****!"

"We've got to go to Joshua and the guys. If we are going to stop this, we'll need their help."

***3rd Person***
As everyone just stared at the two who were panicking, a phone rang, which stopped everyone in their tracks. Because nobody had ever seen a phone in this place. The phone continued to ring until after some searching, Jessy finally found it near the front of the Library and answered, "Uh, Training Center Library, how may I help you?" her voice was confused as her face conveyed as she looked at all of the others, who were looking at her.
"Jess?" Maya's voice came from the other end. And it did not sound good.
"Maya? What's wrong? Look, I know it must be bad, but we've just found out something here and we need you guys, and Joshua if he's with you, to get over here pronto. We were actually about to head over to his place, because . . ."
"Joshua's dying," Maya interrupted the still-young shapeshifter, which stopped her cold.
A loud clatter echoed over the telephone line.
(((See 'Consequences'. Mai and Doc have picked up on the "lesson", so now it's time for everybody else to join in. ;D )))

I put the phone down silently and quietly turned to the others.
